Chapter 47: Tim's In Trouble

“If you wouldn’t mind.”

Tim looked around his office. “Well, I’m waiting for a phone call,” he lied.

“Your secretary can transfer it into the conference room.”

Tim swallowed, “Okay.” He adjusted his tie and took a few deep breaths. They were not going to catch him this close to the end.

He followed Roger across the bank. The tellers stared at the two men. With a confidence he wanted to feel, he waved at the tellers and smiled.

As Roger described, all the board members sat around a long table. They each held a computer printout in front of them. Tim greeted them as if they met every day in his bank. “Sure. What can I explain?”

Roger put on a pair of horn-rimmed glasses and picked up a stack of paper. “On these loans, the interest rate is too low.”

Tim took the papers from him and pretended to study them. He frowned. “Are these loans I approved or the ones the new loan manager took care of?”
