The feeling of Discomfort and pain awoke Rin. She felt uncomfortable and pain in her lower abdomen. 'Oh shit!! My period is Early' Rin thought before she went into the toilet to change her soiled clothes. She checked her phone when she came back to the room. "What the Bloody Hell!!! Its only 2:15 am " whisper-shouted Rin. She knew she was bloody done for.
Like the Majority of Females Rin also had to go through painful cramps on the first day of her Periods. Both back ache and stomach ache accompanied with Fatigue , Nausea and Vomiting it was like a Disaster come true for her. Usually under the meticulous care of her family and friends she could bear it but now it was a different situation. Adding to the misery Phase-2 begins today, it felt like a recipe of disaster in making. Luckily her mother had prepared a separate kit for period-treatment, she took a painkiller and applied heat patches on her abdomen before going back to the bed.
It was already 8:00 am when she woke up. "You look like shit" remarked Maya as she steadied a stumbling Rin. "Periods" she muttered weakly. "Can you make it today? " asked a distressed Maya seeing her in this condition. Rin gave a sickly smile and nodded before heading into the bathroom.
After washing up she returned to the room and Sierra handed her a cup of Chamomile Tea she smiled gratefully before taking small sips and sighed in relief. As phase-2 was beginning today the seniors decided to cancel morning warmup, Rin was glad that they made the decision because she couldn't even move properly in her condition. She dozed off for some time before Maya nudged her indicating they had to leave.
Phase-2 was being conducted in a base. Freshers assembled in front of the base. Murmuring and nervous chatters could be heard but Rin was in no mood to spectate as she stood leaning on Maya. Ryan gave her a concerned glance as Maya informed him about Rin's condition. "I think you can take a sick leave today " Ryan spoke gently.
"Don't worry, I know my body the best. I'll stop when I reach my limits " Rin replied softly.
The instructor came out and ushered them in. As they entered the Base and walked in further, glass cases containing reptiles and creepy-crawlies greeted them. Everyone sensed a feeling of horror wash over them. Rin knew that her day was just getting uglier as time passed. Her sick contour kept increasing as she continued walking.
Asher and the guys were waiting over in the hall with Grim faces. The suspicions of students were confirmed seeing their face. Asher's eyes flitted through the crowd and darkened slightly when met with Rin's countenance. He briefly explained that the second phase training was all about facing one's fears and overcoming them. After he finished, a batch of people decided to leave, Aimen and Tristan guided them to the 50% Camp completion Area.
The rest was divided into a group of three - and the first group including Rin was directed to enter a dark room. They had to enter alone, a few them had already entered but they couldn't find out anything because the room was concealed and sound proof. Finally it was her turn, massaging her abdomen she moved before mouthing 'see you later' to Ryan and Maya. Asher watched her with a worried expression, Rin send him a grateful look before entering the Room.
Cold air and darkness was what came into her sight when she entered the room, she could hear strange clanking sounds. As she adjusted her sight a cliché horror themed room could be seen, Although she was scared of watching horror movies she wasn't extremely afraid of ghosts and darkness because she knew ghosts didn't exist in real life. Her brother and friends always ridiculed her weird temperament.
Clutching her stomach she moved forward, she could feel the chilly air around her. Shadows and apparitions accompanied by murmurings and guttural voice creeped her but it was not to the extent of clouding her mind with fear. Few iconic ghost characters approached her, she had to admit she was frightened a bit, but the abdomen pain she suffered was much worse than the people in front of her. Bloody ghosts, clowns and killers performed excellently but they realized that other than a few screams she completely bypassed them giving her apologies.
Rin moved calmly but her back was completely drenched in sweat, she was scared shitless but conditioned herself chanting 'ghosts aren't real' and completely shifted her attention to her cramps. Her face turned paler with passing seconds. She convinced herself to believe that 'Periods were worse than ghosts , If she could face Periods then ghosts were child play', with this spirit she moved quite swiftly. But she felt worse as she moved, both the mental and physical strain was affecting her body. Her steps started faltering, chest was tightening and her vision began to turn hazy. Rin suddenly saw the exit door, gritting her teeth she willed herself to move towards the exit. Every step seemed heavier than the previous one.
'You can do it!!! Rin you were the girl who rode a roller coaster 3 times consecutively, You could kick-asses in martial arts competitions, Rin you are a fighter, you can never give up. Think about Dad and Mom, think about how mercilessly Ren will mock you if he get to know you blacked out in a dark room. Think about Mia' thought Rin as she encouraged herself.
"Ren's going to humiliate me till I die. You'll lose your bragging rights " Rin chanted repeatedly with every step. Apparently her brother served as a much better motivation than the rest.
When she exited through the door the bright light almost blinded her sight. As she adjusted her sight she could see a familiar silhouette enter her eyes. A bunch of questions were thrown at her but her mind was still disoriented. She felt someone steady her and yelling to get a bottle of water. She felt someone patting her face softly while repeatedly calling her name.
"Asher...." Rin finally responded to the person before she laid her head against his chest and supported herself. Asher was stunned for a moment before he stroked her hair gently, he felt a sense of warmth bloom in his chest. He liked how she was so close to him, suddenly he felt her whispering.
"What? Did you say something?" asked Asher.
"Chocolates" the little girl repeated before hiding her face back into his chest again. Asher chuckled and embraced her before informing his friends to get some chocolates. The guys were surprised at his actions but immediately left after his instructions.
"Ash's acting like a Loverboy, right?" Tristan commented noticing Asher's actions
"Being Romeo really suits him" remarked Aimen agreeing with him.
"I hope it ends well for him" interjected Rehan while revealing a rare serious face. His remark instantly sobered them and a dark look replaced their previous expressions.
As they walked away they could only hope that both Asher and Rin could tackle all the obstacles facing them if the wanted a Future together. Asher's life was not as simple as it seemed
