The next day Se-Young completed the procedure for admitting Se-Won into Seoul national Hospital.
“Big sis, I will be fine right?” Se-Won asked holding her hand. They already got a date for the surgery which was about a week away. “Are you really scared? you already went under operation when you were just this big.” she showed the size of a baby with her hands and Dong-Hoon chuckled looking at her.
“Actually, I am not really scared, I just wanted you to pat my head.” Se-Won bit his lower lip bowing his head, feeling embarrassed and Se-Young’s eyes turned soft as she patted his head.
Se-Won just looked at her with mixed feelings of gratefulness and warmness. Losing his mother at a young age left a great impact on his upbringing and then getting an older sister like that out of nowhere, he felt as if God had blessed him in the form of an elder sister.
...
Jae-In approached Se-Young now that her mood seemed to be stable in those days. “Can we at least talk?” he asked also getting attention from the other staff.
Se-Young looked here and there awkwardly and grabbed his hand dragging him away from there. She stopped outside the kitchen. “What is wrong with you?” she asked with a rigid face.
Jae-In sighed. “Can’t you just let me explain my side?”
Se-Young gave him a sarcastic scoff. “What explanation? That why you trying to kiss me was reasonable.” her tone was nothing but sarcastic.
Jae-In ran his fingers through his hair. “I wanted to say sorry because I feel guilty not just for trying to kiss you without your consent but also because of ruining the friendship we had.”
Se-Young gulped looking away. “You should certainly feel guilty...”
“You never behaved like this Se-Young in the past, are you doing this because of him?” he had a hurtful expression on his face.
“What are you talking about?” she was annoyed.
“Come on don’t play now. I am talking about Mr. Shim. Not only that woman said that but I have also seen you with him for the past few days now. I suppose I was late.” Jae-In was blabbering whatever came into his mouth.
“Excuse me, who do you think you are to ask a question like that to me and there is no other reason for me behaving like that except for your actions.” she glared at him. “I suppose that I lost a friend in my life as well along with many others.” she snorted bitterly and left from there inside the kitchen.
While Jae-In just stood there, reflecting on his words. He felt he should not have said those even if she was interested in Dong-Hoon.
…
In the luxurious hotel, Lee Se-Jung was waiting for someone. He kept looking here and there. From floor to walls, chairs to tables, forks to napkins, staff to customers everything was saying two words to him ‘Expensive and unaffordable’.
He gulped feeling out of place.
Soon a woman approached him, dressed in red, with sunglasses residing on the bridge of her nose.
Without saying anything she sat down in front of him, slightly lowering her glasses from the bridge of her nose. “Lee Se-Jung, not so please to meet you again.” she smiled politely.
Se-Jung just kept his head bowed. “Why so courteous, you were not like this before.” the woman bitterly laughed.
Se-Jung was still silent, not having any proper words to say. “I sm not here to see your face. Just warning you, last time I left you because she said so. But if you try to take Se-Young again, I will not let things go easily.” her face showed that she was nothing but serious.
“Mrs. Shim, don’t worry. I really don’t have any ulterior motive. I just wanted my son to get cured. I will not ask Se-Young to come back to me.” Se-Jung rubbed his palms which were building sweats and then wiped the sweat with his trouser pants.
Jung-Nan gave him a satisfied smile. “You have gotten smart I see.” it was Jung-Nan who helped her friend to get custody of Se-Young when Se-Jung was trying to get her after their divorce.
Jung-Nan almost charged him with adultery and he would have been in great trouble but Se-Young’s mother refused to do so. He ultimately withdrew from the custody case being scared of getting imprisoned because by that time he already had the responsibility of Se-Won.
Jung-Nan just left after that, leaving a quite belittled Se-Jung there.
But on the opposite side of the hotel, two more people were discussing something but it was also related to Se-Young.
...
Jae-In entered the luxurious hotel during his small break time and sat down on the chair in front of Eun-Bi. A serious look was plastered onto his face while Eun-Bi was looking at him with an amused expression.
“Good choice.” she said, sipping onto her coffee.
“To the point.” said Jae-In, not wanting to associate with the woman who disrespected Se-Young.
Eun-Bi slightly laughed with a smirk on her face. “Well, the deal is simple, help me and get your chef.” he frowned his eyebrows.
“I mean Lee-Se-Young.” she took Se-Young’s name with gaps in between. “And why do you think that I want her?” Jae-In asked crossing his arms and leaning into the chair.
“I have many people that can give me spicy news.” she said and took another sip elegantly. Jae-In quirked his eyebrows up in amusement and his serious expressions were totally changed.
“What do I have to do?” he smirked.
“Nothing much just first, get along with her and then...”
…
Things were normal for the next week. Jae-In ignoring Se-Young and vice versa.
Dong-Hoon and Se-Young made regular visits to the hospital.
Hani’s baby bump was finally prominent as four months just completed.
Tae-Hoon was taking care of his work and Hani but would not talk much with her or smile around her since she had already confessed her feelings.
Ji-Hoon and Yoo-Na were on the other hand busy with the upcoming small event related to the deal between their companies.
