The fight wasn't big things, but that's to be expected from a novice author. What is not expected is the mc blatantly using his powers and trying to hide it with absurdly obvious lies. It would have been better for him to just admit to Kurenai that he was born with a special genkai kekkei that prevents him from using chakra but in exchange for some unique powers.
Oh, I didn't know about that. I thought kekkai genkais were passed down from families. Really sorry I haven't read naruto in years so I forgot some of the finer details.
Spelloyal:His father is a ninja, and he can use the excuse as these Kekkei genkai as they sometimes appear in random people with no relation to a clan. There are also cases of kekkei genkai unique and exclusive to the user, so it makes even more sense for mc to be a rare case of a new kekkei genkai
It was still a pretty good fight scene overall though it was kinda a little too one sided and you could of have kurenai perform a lot more genjutsu since i'm pretty sure in canon she had her team trapped in a wide range genjutsu and forced them to use their sensing abilities to find her. Though good job as expected from author sama.
