Spirits and Evil Spirits

Looking at the little sparrow spirit, I decided to play around with it. To try and at least make it forget about it's family.

After a few minutes of playing with it, sensei finally walked back into the room. He looked tired and bothered by something. Everyone is nowadays.

Hopefully mum or dad will tell me something soon. First off I'm really worried about the Todou gang, the one that overhaul originates from. I wonder if their downfall is near, hopefully we won't be caught in the mix...

Sensei then turned to me with an expression even I couldn't recognise. "Boy... I want you to follow me. I'm in need of your quirk just for a moment..."

I got up concerned, following the man through the halls and out the dojo? Putting my faith in him, I just hope whatever it is I'll be able to help.

As we walked to a shabby home which looked old yet very sturdy, we entered inside.

"Sensei, is this your home?"

"Hmm"

Taking his hum as a yes, I wondered why I was brought here. Surely there's nothing a boy like me can currently do, but my quirk... is someone dead or something? That's the only guess I could think of.

Taking me shoes off at the front door, I entered with the man upstairs. The floorboard creaked as we ascended up and into a bedroom. Laying there on the bed, pale as snow and frail as a stick, was an old woman.

Drawing near with sensei's guidance, he placed me beside the bed on a nearby chair. A chair that felt rough and used. Someone's been looking after for a very long time...

"Mother... today's the day" Mother? Barely keeping in my interests, I knew it wasn't the most suitable environment to start questioning now.

"Are you sure? Don't you... want to keep living?... Don't you want to see your grandkids, how about we go outside for a bit?" Things got... intense really quick. Feeling my eyes widen when all the woman did was groan a painful whisper. Even I saw how much pain she was in. Shaking her head was practically impossible.

"Mother, please bare with this... I don't want to do this-! MOTHER!" A hand was raised. It was slow and agonising, it was the woman's hand caressing sensei's face. Looking at the tears both had, even I felt like crying at the moment!

".....C....Ch.il..d..."

There was only silence in the air. Hearing those word, it felt my heart was breaking apart... how was sensei then? A son, having to watch her mother depart. The pain which nearly everyone must feel, which is the gruesome fact.

Even with the years in my past life and now, I'd never thought I'd have to experience this. Sure, I knew my parents were eventually died, but... I just... I don't... I'm so tired right now. I wonder how are they, I wonder if they're still mourning.

You know what, I take it back. I don't want others to mourn for me. If it's only going to cause grief like this, I'd rather be forgotten entirely.

"Sensei? What are you doing?" I got up out of my seat as sensei started taking a sword out of a drawer. It looked ordinary, but with my spirit body I could see tar emanating throughout it all.

"I'm relieving my mother..."

"With that sword specifically? Don't do it, trust me" Sensei looked at me while scrutinising my face. I was just a 4 year old, what input did I have that was trustful?

"My father had always said, that this sword can cleanse spirits if you are killed by this blade. I plan on sending my mother safely..."

"Your father... it's a lie!" Waking over to sensei, I disrespectfully grabbed the sword from him and tried exorcising the spirit. Which, mind you, I've never done. This mostly done out of impulse and how dangerous a situation this was.

[Extracting Evil Spirit...]

As soon as I touched the blade, major changes started happening. Cracks were starting to form on the blade and handle. Sensei just worriedly stood by as he looked at me. Wondering if what I said was just true, apparently he put his trust in me. Hopefully...

The blade was on the verge of breaking apart, tar started seeping out constantly in large amounts. Even sensei could feel a difference in the air with the way he started looked around attentively.

[Extracted Evil Spirit!]

As the sword forcefully broke apart, all that was left was a black-crimson mist near the sword. Because I could interact with spirits, I tried using Calming Sun against it. Planting my feet on the floor, I attacked with all my might in a straight punch.

*Whack!*

As if it was a solid object, once hit by my fist, scurried way painfully. Sensei grabbed another sword from the drawer, which seemed like it was endlessly full of swords.

"Charles, what is happening. When you said that sword was a lie, why did it break?" Heaving my shoulders, I wasn't that used to using the first form. But I managed to respond.

"There was an evil spirit in it. I could only see it because of my quirk. Can you see it over there?" Pointing at the corner of the room, sensei held no reaction to the mist of black and crimson. I guess normal people can't see evil spirits either.

"I'm going to start fighting it, but I doubt you can help as well. I'm able to attack spirits with my quirk, but I'm not sure about your sword..."

"Hmm... alright then..." Taking another deep breath, I utilised the first form and planted another strike on the evil spirit. This time I saw a different reaction happen, it started to lounge at me. Dodging to the side, I narrowly avoided the rapidly approaching spirit.

Getting up, I prepared myself for another bout of fists, but instead I was ignored. Rushing in horror, I saw the mist climb up sensei who was ignorant to everything expect my shocked face. As it crawled into his head, there was nothing I could do.

"Sensei... are you alright?" Noticing his blank stare, I shivered uncontrollably. As he took a step towards me, I took several backwards. It's useless against him. Even though I just met sensei today, I knew he was an extremely strong man.

As he approached me in an unknown stance, I prepared my fists in front of my face trying to protect it. It all was for in vain as he simply punched forward with the strength of an abnormally strong adult. Fairly enough to ignore my defence and just overpower me.

Clashing with the wall with even more injuries, my back ached and my face was on fire! My arms were already limp and I just stared in terror at the approaching man. His face was contorted into a snarl. Looking over at the woman crying on the bed, probably not know what was going on, I sighed.

*BANG*

A punch hit my stomach and forced me against the wall once more... breathe Charles... breathe.... Breathe!... BREATHE!...

"....S-se...n...se-i..."

*BANG*

*BANG*

This time I puked all over the ground. I didn't even have time to finish organising my thoughts before-

*BANG*

*BANG*

Tears streamed out of my face controllably. My chin wobbled like a little kid and I felt like running away. But I couldn't, my legs wouldn't obey me. Nor my arms or heart. They all gave up. They accepted their fate.

*BANG*

It stopped? Gazing up at sensei's, his face was less contorted. Even in some moments he had regained a normal gaze. It looks like he's fighting the spirit... A little too late don't you think?

"Charles? W-w-what happened?"

As sensei recovered and questioned me, all I could do was groan in pain like the woman on the bed. Walking over to me, my body visibly flinched which horrified sensei. But I wasn't paying attention to any of that.

I was glaring at the spirit coming my way. About time...

[Foreign Spirit Possessing Body...]

[Forcibly Subduing Evil Spirit...]

"Charles? Say something!..."

As my body drowned out the sounds of the world, another text message appeared in front of me.

"CHARLES!?..."

[Subdued Spirit]

[Cleansed Spirit]

[Spirit has sworn loyalty towards you...]

[Owned Spirit: Cleansing Blade - lvl 1

Description: A blade spirit which was once corrupted by evil spirits. Now the spirit had been cleansed, it has regained its original effects.

Effect - Summon cleansing blade, +2 endurance, +1 vitality]

Great, just great. Now you subdue the spirit? As my mind started fogging up, my body began to release its tension and loosen. I wonder how mum and dad will react to this?

*Beep* *Beep* *Beep*

The sound of a machine filled my head as I woke up. Clearing my mind the best I can, I tried remembering where I was. The last thing I remember was that I was in sensei Sakamoto's house. I then remember...

Checking my quirk once more, I eventually found another spirit in my owned spirits. Looking around the hospital bed, I found my little white fox sleeping. Looking around further, I eventually found my sword spirit, it took the form of a gleaming pale yellow katana.

Sighing in relief, at least everyones safe now. As my bed sheets started moving around, a woman eventually woke up who was sleeping on the bed.

"M-mum?"

"YOUR AWAKE! COME HERE!"

As mum buried my head into her chest, I could only embrace her back ignoring the soft pillows in front of me as hard as I could.

"WHAT HAPPENED TELL ME EVERYTHING!"

Sighing, I told her to sit back down. Explaining everything to her, her face throughout it gradually eased. Seeing her worries we're for nothing, she hugged me again and called dad.

Smiling painfully at our small reunion, I tried testing out the sword spirit. Controlling it, I made it do some slashes and some cuts in the air in front of me. It got me thinking, I could use this as a secondary weapon while I'm in my fox possession. My opponents wouldn't see anything coming!

As I finished testing out my control which got it to level 2, I tried making it possess me. The spirit started going into me just as mum finished her call. She had to experience me transform again.

An itch suddenly appeared all over my head. I resisted for about a few second before going all out scratching. I told mum that I was going gotta transform into something new, so she readier herself. Plus we were at a hospital, so it was pretty safe in her books.

A minutes passed and the itching finally stopped. Looking over at mum, she had an incredibly shocked face to which I laughed at.

"So, Mum, what happened?"

"Oh, you truely are my little angle" Surprising me, she started cuddling me.

"What is it!?" She smiled and took a picture of my whole body, which some parts was still under blankets. As she took the photo and finally showed me, I was just as surprised as mum.

Looking at the photo, I could see a small pale boy, with cream messy hair and yellow eyes. And on his head... was a halo. When was this sword an angel?
