Synopsis

If you thought I was just going to just look into his watery blue eyes and simply forgive and forget, you can think again. If only it could have been that easy. After my own mate murdered my brother, things were rough...to say the very least. But what I didn't know was that this was just the first distant warning of the violent storm ahead. One that would throw everything into perspective, one that would give me memories I will never forget and one that would begin with a fateful car journey to Mexico and the hope of finding forgiveness.

Chapter 1Chapter 1

"Luca?" I asked when my phone call was finally picked up.

I had left the house and I didn't exactly know what to do next other than wander aimlessly down the forest track in the dark and cold. I knew I didn't want to go back but I also knew that I didn't want to leave.

So I did what anyone would do: called my best friend.

"Yeah?" He replied softly.

"Can you come and pick me up? I'm-" I began before becoming suddenly overwhelmed with the urge to cry.

"Yes, of course," he said not needing a coherent explanation. "I'll be there as soon as possible."

I sat on the verge with my head in my hands until the glowing headlights of his car came into view.

As soon as the car had stopped, he was getting out and then sitting beside me on the slightly damp, leaf-littered floor.

"Hey," he said comfortingly.

"Hi," I replied leaning into him.

"You decided to leave?"

I shrugged and just let him put his arm around me.

"I don't know what to do," I said wiping my tears.

"I have an idea. How about we get off this wet floor before we start making any important decisions?"

I nodded and he opened the door to his car. It was warm in there and strangely smelt like waffles. Those two things combined with Luca and the comfort they brought me made my decision in an instant.

"Your plan," I said as he got in on the driver's side. "The one to just go somewhere far from here and away from him. I want to do it. But not alone."

His lips curled into a smile.

"Was that an invitation Ella Jones?" He asked with a glint in his eye.

I nodded and he hugged me.

"I fucking love you," he said excitedly. "And this is gonna be fun. I promise."

He then put on his seat belt and started the engine.

"But the Alpha is going to kill me for it," he muttered.

"He let me go," I replied.

"He... just let you... go?"

It was hard to believe, I'll give him that. Just allowing his mate to go out into the, "big, scary." world alone was a very unLeo thing to do but even he couldn't have said no in this situation. He killed my brother for goodness sake.

I nodded, "yeh just like that. Anyway, where are we going, captain?"

"Somewhere warm and far away," he replied. "But you'll have to wait and see. It's a surprise."

"Are we going to Mexico?" I asked.

"How the fuck did you guess?" He asked slapping the steering wheel in frustration as we drove.

"There's a sombrero in the back," I stated. "Why is that necessary?"

"In case we need to fit in," he replied.

"Oh, of course," I remarked. "Why didn't I think of that?"

Every muscle in her body went taut at the implications of sleeping in a man’s arms. She had never slept in a male’s embrace before. Her whole skin tingled like tiny sparks dancing on the very parts that connected with him. The crevices of her brain had these memories which weren't hers. This touch somehow didn't seem foreign to her. She felt safe in his soothing embrace and didn't wish to push him away and yet she knew this was far from appropriate. Cassandra tried to wriggle out of his hold, his arms seemed to be built from iron for they wouldn't budge. The light garment she had worn had lifted from her milky thigh baring it as his bronzed muscular one was draped on it. And now she could sense something poking her back. Her eyes suddenly expanded from the realisation and Cassandra fully panicked. “Let go!” She voiced out, heavily. Siroos slowly lifted his leg and slackened his hold on her waist so she could shuffle away. He had awakened when she had stiffened for the first time but wished to behold what she would try. With eyes blown wide she stole a glance towards the man who had her wrapped in his embrace like a precious treasure, his treasure. His molten gold eyes had flickered open and there was this softness and want with which he stared at her. Those soft brown curls cascaded over his eyes as he forgot to blink, watching the timeless beauty that she was. Her one-of-a-kind fragrance was a torture to his senses. How he wished to grab her dainty ankle, pull her from it and have her sprawled underneath him. To kiss the very skin that oozed such scent which was driving him insane. Instead, he bent his arm and placed it under his cheek using it like a pillow to watch her with desire-filled eyes. The awkward lull between them prolonged as Cassandra cleared her throat. “Did you have to climb on me to sleep?” “It wasn't intentional but was certainly enticing and definitely won't be the last time.” His deeply hypnotic voice was even more alluring this early in the morning as it resonated all around her. Young master Damien's pet

"Who touched you?" he asked, his eyes brooding down at her and when she didn't answer, his voice thundered in the room, "WHO?" The butler who stood near the wall spoke shakily, "Sir, it was Mr. Reverale," Damien's face turned sour, his jaw ticking in anger he turned his face to the side where the butler stood behind. "Bring the man here." "N-now?" stuttered the butler. It was the time of night. Damien who hadn't broken his eye contact with the girl in front of him, pushed his hand against the wall which now rested beside his beautiful girl's head. Turning his body, he first looked at his butler who had his head bowed. With great courage, the butler came to meet his Master's eyes, "Do you have any other better time? Or should it be after I wring your neck?" Damien asked calmly tilting his head. Not a second later, the butler ran out of the room to return back with Mr. Reverale after twenty minutes. "Damien, are we having a late tea party?" Mr. Reverale came to greet but the master of the house had other plans. Spotting the knife that was stuck to the apple on the table, he reached for it to pull it out. Just as Mr. Reverale went to exchange a handshake with him, Damien took hold of his hand to place it on the table. In one swift movement as if he were chopping onions, he chopped the four fingers of the man off his hand making him yelp and cry in pain. "No one touches what is mine. I am sure this will remind you the next time you even think about touching her," sighed Damien as if he were tired of telling people to keep their dirty hands off his belongings.
