The Old Wizard

At the boundary of the Red Kingdom, Ling sat on the chair that had been made for him to move around in his little garden as he watched his vegetables. He had refused to take on any assistance of any kind and did all the work he needed by himself. No one disturbed him anymore and Ling couldn't be happier.

With a wave of his hands and curl of his fingers, he magically transferred water from a near basin and splashed it on the cabbage and lettuce that basked in the sunlight. Ling liked the privacy that he had -- away from all the politics of the kingdom. According to the wizard, that wasn't for him anymore as he didn't want to deal with the obsession that had consumed his dear Sek.

Oftentimes, Ling's mind wandered to his late friend, the previous king, Zain, Sek's father, and he'd find himself apologizing for allowing things to go awry. Ling could hardly get sleep as his dreams were plagued with the war and with Seth.
