Chapter 8

"No, I did not find my sister," Li Rui replied with a gloomy face and lost eyes.

"Was she going to come today with this plane?" the guard inquired with concern, who looked at the age of not less than thirty. He was concerned for her. Why not he would be? Anyone could feel the same when they saw Li Rui this time. But a ruthless person would not feel the same as a pair of mother and daughter.

"Hmm,'' Li Rui nodded her head and sat on the bench beside the guard near to him.

"Then should you not call her first, did she land or not?"

"I called her but... I cannot reach her," Li Rui replied.

"Then shouldn't you call your home and ask if she has arrived?" The guard was humble with Li Rui, detecting a sad look in her eyes.

"I called...! but mother said, she did not come back" as Li Rui was saying to guards to pay some respect to the man, who was concerned for her when suddenly her phone rang. Which she held in her hand.

Li Rui saw the screen and saw her father was calling to her.

Father! Why was he calling her? Did he find out about Li Mengying? Which she had said to her mother. That she didn't find Li Mengying.

Li Rui picked the call and stood away from the bench as she went a little away from the guard to take the call of her father.

"Father," Li Rui said in a low and dejected voice.

"Li Rui! my child, where are you? And Why haven't you come home yet?" Father Li Wenhao asks with worry from the other side.

How could she return? Without Li Mengying, as her mother had said.

Li Rui was about to inform Li Mengying, before she could reply to him or explain why she was not home till now, father Li Wenhao added, "your sister is waiting for you".

Li Rui heard from her father that Li Mengying was at home. Her face suddenly bloomed like a shining flower with intensity.

"Have Mengmeng reached home?" Li Rui inquired about Li Mengying, as she was happy to hear that Li Mengying had reached home.

" Yes…" father, Li Wenhao informed Li Rui about Li Mengying as he was happy with her return.

"When did she reach their father?" Li Rui again added another question. Knowing her innocent father would reply to her all the questions, as he loved her.

"She is here, waiting for you for one hour, where are you and what's take you long to come home.'' Father Wentao replied and asked another question with enthusiasm one after another, who could not recognise the silence and sadness of Li Rui. Who was only listening to him silently and did not dare to utter a word.

 However, unknown to him that all the words that came out of his mouth were stabbing in Li Rui's heart like a needle that pierces her heart. When she heard her father, he informed Li Mengying reached home safely. 

Why didn't my mother inform me? When I had called her.

She was happy with that news. But, what her father announced next, scrabbling her heart into a precise. Knowing her mother did not tell her that Li Mengying returned home one hour before and here she was waiting and worried for her.

"Li Rui!... Li Rui, why are you not saying anything?" ask her father from the other side. Sensing the silence that Li Rui did not say further. 

He asked with concern to Li Rui, who was lost in her thoughts.

Hearing his worried sound for her, Li Rui came back from her thoughts. She replied, "I am coming home father, I am on my way," she said with a cheerful voice as she was not upset a moment before for anything. She had not let her sadness show to her father and the trick which her mother pulled on her.

"Hmmm ...come back early... I prepared a barbeque today for you, and the entire family is waiting for you. Come fast," exclaimed Li Wenhao, as he was happy today. His younger daughter came back home after a long time.

After instructing and giving orders to Li Rui to come home early, Li Wenhao cut the call.

He was happy and was unaware of the stunt his wife and daughter had pulled against his other daughter. 

Li Rui had not planned to tell her mother's deed to her father.

She didn't want to spoil the movement and happy environment of home when there was a joyous occasion for them at home, as Li Mengying returned after years.

How can she do that? Being a spoiler, informing about everything to her father. And spoil his mood as well.

Li Rui wiped her tears from her cheeks. After her father, Li Wenhao had cut the call. Tears looked like a diamond on her fair skin.

After the call, Li Rui was ready to go from there, finding her sister had reached home. 

But the guard from before came to her side. "Are you going?'' he asked, coming near Li Rui.

"Hmm" she nodded her head.

"Does that mean you found your sister?" he asked with a smile, knowing she must have found her sister that's why she was going back. Till now he understood how stubborn she was. As he saw her three hours before, she came early, and she looked troubled, not able to find her sister. So he was concerned about her.

 "Hmm" what other thing did Li Rui say other than humming in conditions like that.

After a small chat with the guard, Li Rui comes out from there. She hailed a cab outside of the airport towards her home.

"What did I do wrong this time?" she asks herself, covering her face with her both palms and closing her teary eyes and bends her head lower. As tears flow from her eyes.

"I am doing what I could do to satisfy my mother. Then why does she have to treat me like that?" Li Rui questioned herself about the unknown pain she was bearing.

From the driver's seat, the driver peeked backseat to know why the beautiful girl was behaving like this. But he was not in a position to utter anything. So, he looked in front to concentrate on his driving.

Li Rui remembers how she was trying hard to please her mother from childhood, but she never cared for her, even abused and treated her worse than Li Mengying. Whom she pampered with her hearts like a princess but to her like debris.

What did she ever had done wrong with her mother?
