Many people grew up watching Dragon Ball, it is natural that many do not like to see that one of their favorite characters (Vegeta) ends up being displaced by another. I understand where your coming from, blindly hating on the mc just from the fact that you dont like his choices and charecter is useless. stop reading if your criticism isnt constructive or relevant. I would have to say that a portion of the criticism could stem from the fact that the conversations between characters(primarily Bulma) do seem rather forced? unnatural? conversations that would never actually take place between two actual people? and that's why I feel the mc comes off as simpy. I dont know if you actually care for feedback, but I would recommend some slow paced conversation between characters (mainly mc and Bulma). It helps see them more as people rather than tools to force a plot.
