Arena Twenty One: A New Start XI

"Let's go... The base is just a few kilometres away."

I encouraged my squad members as I started walking. We hadn't had to fight a lot of zombies, at least not in the traditional sense, but we were all mentally exhausted.

Not to mention, the rain and the gloom around us were making me uncomfortable. It was as if something was wrong. The rain wasn't letting down either, making it extremely hard to see anything around us.

Shaking my head to remove such thoughts, I looked around. The inner city didn't have a lot of buildings. Most of the area was covered with scenic parks and mansions each covering a large area, so there weren't many phantoms to encounter.

Which was, of course, a good thing. After walking for several minutes without seeing any phantoms, all of us relaxed our guards a bit.
