First Guest of the Cabin

Mattheus marked the wall with chalk, labeling the area before doing the same thing on the Map that the System had named The Jeweled Maze of Hlidskialf. Over the last few days, he had discovered it was a complex labyrinth of tunnels, caverns, and sheer drops, so calling it a "maze" was rather appropriate.

The exploration had mostly been without too much incident, barring that first time where he nearly got jumped by a snowshoe hare that turned out to be carnivorous. There had been some interesting glowing red mushrooms that released spores which he was unaffected by through a combination of his natural aura and the mask he wore that aided him with oxygen intake in the stale tunnels. Silver, iridescent vines also grew without the presence of light, so the search at least hadn't been too dull visually.

He could only see one amazing rock formation too many before it became commonplace, after all.
