Chapter 1 the NIGHT

I was at my friend Abby's house putting on makeup with her, as Abby fixed up her hair started to talk to me about minor things like school gossip "did you hear about the john?, you know the one who talks about cults and serial killers, I heard that he's been bragging about how he slept with Lily, and that she was goanna be a sacrifice for the cult in the woods, can you believe that what a creep" Abby said as she finished her hair and I finished putting eyeliner on "First of all, john is full of crap there isn't a cult here just some murders like 20 years and that's it, secondly there is no way in hell that, Lily would never sleep with a guy like him, she's too good for him" I said a bit bitter as I put the makeup Abby let me use back into the white cupboards of her bathroom walls "someone sounds a bit jealous" Abby teased as she tucked a strand of her short dirty blond hair behind her ear so that it wasn't in her face.

"I'm not jealous, I just know that Lily wouldn't go out with a guy like him, he's not her type anyways" I said slightly blushing, I turned away knowing well that I lied I was jealous, even tho I know that Lily wouldn't sleep let alone date someone like john, it still bugged me, Abby always teased me about being over-protective of Lily, but she didn't know that i actually like her, our other friend, Molly knew that I liked Lily since seventh grade, after a Abby finished putting away her make up fully, we both went downstairs and got into her car, that she got for her 15th birthday, as we both sat in the front. I got a text from Lily, as we were nearing her house, as I read the text, I raised my eyebrow in confusion as I finished reading it "hey Lily just texted me" I told Abby, as she took a left turn on 'Elm Street' "what did she say?" Abby asked as she took a small glance at me "She said that Molly is with her and that she has a surprise for me" I told Abby after a moment she had a small smirk "Maybe she got you a date" Abby said in a joking manner, I rolled my eyes at her "Don't be ridiculous you, Molly and Lily all know that I like girls not boys" I said as I texted Lily that we would be there in a bit and that the surprise better not be another glitter bomb, like last week "Yeah, yeah I know, I'm just messing with you" Abby said as we saw Lily's house coming up, it looked the same as it has since we were kids.

The same old light gray, two story house with a white door and the same old black porch the only thing that had changed were the only real touch of color, which as always was in front of the house, lavender flowers that Lily's mom had planted when we were all around the age of 13, Abby parked in front of the house, got out as and walked up to the front door, not even two minutes later Molly answered the door.

Molly's light brown hair was put into a neat braid as she wore a yellow tank top that said 'POP' in bright neon pink and a pair of black leggings as she hugged us both "y'all ready to party" Molly said as she let us go "Nah, we're here to murder a pig, sherlock" I said jokingly as we all laughed lightly and walked into the house, we waited for Lily in the living room, me and Abby sitting on the black three person house as Molly sat on, one of the two black recliners "So what's the surprise?" I asked, Molly simply smiled "You'll see" was all she said as we changed the topic and started some small talk, soon I heard footsteps, I got up and walked to the staircase, I saw Lily at the top of the stairs, I blushed a bit, as I looked at her, she was wearing a short dark blue tank top a white long sleeved sports jacket, a pair of light blue skinny genes that had teared at the knees, as she wore some white sneakers but what really caught my attention was how her makeup looked. Her long blond hair was as straight as a piece of paper, she had glittery bright blue eyeshadow that complemented her dark blue eyes and some light lip gloss that shined slightly in the dimmed lights of the staircase.

I didn't really notice, but I had my mouth slightly open until Molly walked up next to me and closed my mouth "Didn't know that you were a stalker Eva" Molly said in a joking manner as she elbowed me, Abby and Lily laugh slightly as I shook my head and looked away from Lily.

"I'm not a stalker, I was just surprised, that our angel Lily would wear something so inappropriate" I said in a more high-pitched tone trying to mimic Lily's mom. "Ok 'mom', let's just get going after all the party isn't goanna come to us unless it's possessed" Lily said jokingly as she walked down.

We all walked out of the house and into Abby's car, Molly sat in the front with Abby while I sat in the back with Lily, as we started to head to the party.

The party was being held by the Wilson twins, two football jocks who live in our small town, the Wilson twins were identical twins, with hazel brown hair and dark brown eyes their names are Nick and Nolan who despite being jerks, still where one of the best people to throw parties especially since there dad owned a the biggest booze store in town and their older brother secretly grows weed, but besides that, their parents were mostly gone either on a wedding anniversary trip or some weird family business trip, so they were basically gone all the time.

Soon enough we were in front of the Wilson home, it was a black and white three story house, almost like Lily's house in the case of no color, except for the pillows on the porch swing, we could hear the loud up-beat music, that was barely being contained by the black door at the front of the house, I could see the flashing lights through the windows, some teens where partying on the front lawn with a small pink speaker that was playing 'My life is a party' at the highest volume, most were already drunk and slightly dancing but most of them were smoking, as the waved at us, we all walked into the house, almost everyone that we knew or saw at school was dancing, drinking, smoking, yelling and talking or at least trying to talk over the loud music Molly and Abby yelled into my ear that they were going to go to the kitchen to get some drinks, I gave them a thumbs up as they both left, I soon realized that Lily was no longer next to me anymore. I looked around quickly and soon saw her walking through the crowd, hugging her boyfriend, Alex, I decided to go upstairs, I didn't want to ruin their moment, I decided to go upstairs, passing some teens sitting on the floor most with drinks in their hands and other just vaping, when I got to the second floor there were four couples making out and groping each other, some were clearly high from the weed, that came from the hand pips that had been discarded on the floor, I passed by them and looked into one of the rooms, I caught a glimpse of a couple slowly undressing, I quickly walked away, not wanting to see them continue, I walked over to a window that was in the hallway and looked out into the backyard.

I could see the green grass and grey pavement that surrounded the pool that was illuminated by the blue lights, that were under the water, there were some white chairs, as I could see the medium tall white picket fence, that after a bit of walking led into the dark woods that surrounded our medium sized town, I soon noticed John standing by the edge of the fence, he turned around as we made eye contact, I looked at his dark brown messy hair and his dark blue eyes, no different than Lilyu's, he wore a black and grey baggy jacket with light grey words that said 'fuck society' on the the chest part of the jacket, he also wore black genes that were slightly torn at the ends of the cuffs, as if they had bine toned by thorn bushes, to many times, his black shoes were covered in mud and dirt at the bottom.

John looked at me with a small grin on his face, waving at me as if we were old friends, John yelled something but i couldn't hear him over the loud music, he kept waving at me, I sighed as i walked down the stairs and out into the yard, I walked up to John making sure to keep some distance between us "What do you want John" I deadpan, as John raised his eyebrow in slight amusement "Aww, common Eva, is that any way to talk to an old friend, why so harsh" he said as he laughed a bit, thinking he was funny, I crossed my arms over one another I was already getting irritated with him "Evaline common, don't be like that, I've missed you , and I know you've missed me too" he said as he continued to smile "First of all don't call me that, second of all I don't miss you, especially after the crap you pulled in eighth grade, heck why would i even miss you after you've bine bragging about sleeping with my best friend" I said slightly more irritated, John simply put his hand into his pocket, as he slowly walked around me, as his smile slowly went away. "You know I was really hoping that you would let by gones be by gones for that, as for the whole, sleeping with Lily, big deal, she seems like the type to sleep around" he said, I looked at him pissed, first he talks to me as if we were still friends and now he's just insulting my best-friend "Shut the fuck up John, you dont even talk to her, you don't know anything, besides you wouldn't even know any gossip about her, if there was any because you don't have friends" John then turned around and walked closer to me as he towered over me, while I'm not the tallest I'm also not the shortest I'm five foot seven, but John is six foot. John looked down at me slightly with a black stair, it felt like we have stared at each other for a while, soon John smirked and simply said "Don't forget that you didn't have any friends until, Lily took pity on you, you and I aren't so different, Evaline" he walked into the house as i stood there still angry but I felt like I couldn't move from where i stood.

I soon snapped out of whatever trance I was in as I heard the sounds of the crown in the trees, squawking at me, I looked at the woods as the only light even slightly illuminating the woods was the one's from the house, for a moment I thought I saw someone or something, I soon ignored it and walked inside the house, I didn't see John and slowly walked over to the kitchen, I saw Abby and Molly both eating some Doritos chips, while sitting at the isle of the kitchen, they soon notice me and motioned for me to come over, I sat between them as they asked me where I went after they went to get us drinks, I lied and told them that I just walked around a bit for entertainment, since Lily was with Alex. Molly and Abby both nodded and left it at that, Molly handed me the drink that they got me, which was coca cola mixed with squirt, I thanked her and took a sip, soon we started talking about the usual banter most teenagers would have, gossip about guys and girls alike, what teachers have been acting suspicious around the principle, who was a short yet intimidating Pilipino women, the stupid stuff people were doing at the party, etcetera.

"There you guys are!" I heard Lily said as she walked over to us holding a red plastic cup, she hugged me from behind, he breath smelling slightly like alcohol "Sorry for leaving you guys, I just haven't seen Alex in a while, but I know that's not an excuse, I'm sorry I left you alone Eva" Lily said as she let go of me and sat next to molly, "Its fine I know how much he matters to you, plus I was fine I just walked around, nothing interesting" I lied slightly as Lily thanked me and Molly as Abby just smiled, This was our norm, always has bine girls from a small town going to parties with alcohol and such and just having fun even if it was just small things like talking.
