27 Can I Live With you? - 5sos Medical

Tylar was playing with his pencils as Michael was waving to the other kids. When Michael turned around he saw that Tylar was still sitting in his chair. He sighed because he found out that Tylar sat there almost everyday. Tylar tried to stay as long till Michael usually kicked him out.

Today it was different. This morning when Tylar walked inside the classroom, Michael noticed his eye was purple and all swollen up, it looked to Michael he actually broke his eye socket, and he got scratches all over his face.

"God Tylar what happened to you," Michael asked as he stopped Tylar who was already aiming for his place all the way in the back.

Tylar shucked his shoulders which was nothing new to Michael. Since a few weeks Tylar had gone some sort of mute since he usually spoke up once or twice during the whole day.

Two years ago Tylar's mom died and since then he usually sat at the back and isolated himself from the rest of the class. Michael never met his dad and they were already halfway the school year. He never showed up to parental meetings and Tylar never said anything about his dad.

Michael was teacher of a bunch of second years and Tylar was one of them.

Michael decided to leave Tylar alone and wait for him to go home sooner the later. Michael went on checking the homework and some work from the lessons before. One and a half hour passed and Michael looked up and found Tylar sleeping on his table. Now Michael's worry began to grow and quickly made his way towards the sleeping boy.

"Hey Tylar wake up buddy," Michael softly spoke while he shook the 6 year old awake. Tylar slowly opened his eyes. To Michael it looked like he just woke up from a nightmare.

"Hey boy what's wrong?" Michael said getting more and more worried.

"Could you change it sir?" Tayler softly asked. Michael didn't understand what Tylar was trying to say. "What do you mean Ty?"

"Well that you can change it. That what you dream is real and what is real you actually dream?"

Michael had no idea what to say but one thing he knew for sure, a little man shouldn't be worried about these things. Michael decided to pull Tylar into a hug and Tylar hugged him back." Should I bring you home?" Michael asked.

Deep down from inside Tylar didn't want to go home. He didn't want to be beaten again. He wanted to tell Michael but he didn't dare to so he eventually gave in that Michael could bring him home.

Michael placed Tylar on his hip since Tylar had no strength to walk himself. "Which is yours?" Michael asked tylar as he came to the garderobe of his class. He found three jackets hanging which meant that two others left theirs behind as well. Tylar soflty said that he didn't have one. Michael slowly sat Tylar down and covered him with his jacket because it was momentarily raining in Australia. "Here," Michael soflty said as he took Tylar back in his arms who was close to sleeping again. "It's alright boy just sleep," Michael soflty spoke as he closed his classroom. Tylar smiled and looked satisfied towards Michael. He felt safe for once but he knew that this feeling would be gone soon when he stepped into the his house.

Michael laid his backpack on the backseat. Tylar already had fallen asleep but Michael knew his Adres since he searched it in his map. Michael laid a sleeping Tylar on the front seat and covered the sleeping boy with his jacket. Michael pulled a string of hair behind his ear and sighed. No child should deserve it. No child should be in the same place where Tylar was momentarily in.

Michael pulled into the street of Tylar. It was 5 pm and Michael genuinely hoped that Tylar his dad was home so he could speek to him about the state of Tylar.

"Tylar buddy wake up for me," Michael said as he softly shook the boy awake. Tylar softly grumbled under Michael's jacket. "Come on," Michael soflty said as he unbuckeld himself and Tylar. Tylar looked gorgey from the sleep but managed to walk himself towards the front door. He snuggled into Michael's jacket, that he was still holding, even further.

Michael rang the doorbell and hoped someone would eventually open it.

Nobody answered the door while Michael decided to ring again.

Again nobody answered. Michael looked sad towards Tylar.

"Looks like we need to find a solution buddy," Michael soflty spoke, "how about you come to mine and I'll bring you back after dinner?"

"Yes please," Tylar soflty replied. Michael smiled and picked the 6 year old up. "I'll ring my boyfriend in the car so we can decided on what to eat," Michael explained once he placed Tylar back in the seat. Tylar smiled at Michael, he was happy as long he didn't have to go home. Tylar loved the feeling of someone who eventually cared about him. Tylar looked outside when he heard ringing of a cellphone over the radio. He looked at the radio and saw a caller ID. 'Ashton' stood there as caller ID. After a few rings the Ashton dude picked up.

"Hey Michael what's up?" the boy on the other side of the line picked up.

"Hey Ash how do you feel about cooking?"

"Ehh not exactly. Why?" Ashton wanted to know.

"I'll pick something up in my way," Michael answered as he drove into the Macdonalds.

"Yeah as long it's no Mac than I'm happy. Also Tamara is just down with practice but dislocated her shoulder once again so I'm actually moving the surgery forward because this is no live for her," Ashton said already knowing where Michael drove to.

"Alright I'll see what I can do with Tamara and speaking of the Mac too late my boy. See you," Michael laughed. Tylar smiled as well. He used to go with his mom to Macdonalds every now and then but since she died he never went there anymore.

"What do you want Ty?" Michael asked as he already gave the order of Ashton and himself through the drive through.

"Ehhh happy meal with nuggets," Tyler said smiling. Michael nodded satisfied and ordered it.

"Alright let's head home," Michael smiled as he passed the food to Tylar.

"Who's Tamara?" Tylar wanted to know as he got himself more comfortable.

"Tamara is my 13 year old sister. I watch her together with Ashton because my parents moved to another country."

Tylare seemed to understand and actually was a bit jealous of the Tamara girl because she had Michael as her brother so she didn't have to worry about beaten up.

"Ash I'm home," Michael yelled. Tylar was still wearing Michael's coat and held his own happy meal. Ashton walked out of the kitchen into the living room where he was faced with his boyfriend and a small boy with dark brown hair. "Oww hello to you," Ashton said as he came closer to the little boy. But as soon as Ashton held his hand out to shake Tylar's he quickly stepped behind Michael.

"Where did you find him," Ashton softly asked. "In my classroom. He was sleeping and his dad didn't answer the door so I took him home."

Tylar came closely from Michael's back and looked at Ashton. He felt safe around him as well.

"Hey little one I'm Ashton but you can call me Ash. I see you're a bit beaten up aren't you?"

Ashton was head of the ER and first in row when there was a severe trauma call with children involved. He worked together with two of his mates Luke and Calum. Ashton was now focused on Tylar his eye and genuinely thought that his eye socket was broken on several places.

"Shall we just eat?" Michael softly spoke up. Tylar happily nodded and skipped behind Ashton. Michael never saw the boy this happy.

Michael began to unpack the food and Tylar looked wide eyedend to his amount of food.

"I'll get Tam," Michael softly said as he got up from the table.

He left Ashton alone with Tylar. Ashton felt sorry for the boy because with a few scanning looks from Ashton he could tell that Taylor got neglected at home. It seemed to him that he hadn't eaten in days and he got a lack of sleep.

"So you have brothers or sisters or?" Ashton wanted to start a conversation and find out more about his home situation.

"No its just me and my dad," Tylar spoke, "my mom died due to cancer but that's long ago."

Ashton nodded. "And your dad does he treat you well?"

Tylar got tears in his eyes and realized that Ashton had found out. He slowly shook his head.

"He threw me down the stairs this morning. I can't eat because I'm useless. I work till midnight to pay for his drinks." Tylar was now full on sobbing. Ashton immediately shot up from his chair and went towards Tylar. Michael just came down with Tamara and found Ashton hugging Tylar. Before Tamara could even ask what was going on, Michael said that he would explain it later to her.

Tamara nodded and walked towards the little boy. "Hey I'm Tamara. What's your name?" Tamara was quite taken aback by his black eye but decided to leave it that way.

"Tylar," the boy spoke up. He was faced with a tall girl with a high ponytail and looked like she just showered.

"How's your shoulder Tam?" Ashton asked when Tamara took place at the dining table. "Just the usual. Hurting and aching but I'm fine Ash."

"Yeah speaking of which," Michael started, "we're moving the operation forward if that's oke with you." Tamara nodded and continued eating.

"So tell me Tylar," Tamara said as he put some fries into her mouth, "is Michael nice to you?"

Tylar nodded excitedly. "Yeah is the greatest teacher. He teaches us how to write and read and let's us play a lot. He also sings in the class and I love that," Tamara and Ashton looked weird to Michael since he swore he would never sing again after the 5SOS period. "Hey you sing as well Ash," Michael said in his defense. Tylar didn't seem to get it and Tamara noticed.

"Can I tell you a secret," she whispered, "Michael and Ashton wh-"

"I dare you not miss Clifford," Michael spoke but Tamara didn't care.

"Well Michael and Ashton were in a band so when you're in school ask Michael if he would like to play something that's called 5sos." Tamara smiled satisfied. Michael and Ashton looked not really happy but knew from deep down inside that they should be proud of Tamara who told everyone about it with always the same smile on her face.

" Alright Tam you still need to drum but please be careful with that shoulder of you. Maybe Tylar wants to see too?" Ashton suggested as he and Michael cleared the table.

"Would you Ty?" Tamara asked. Tylar smiled and nodded. He loved the calm in the house and wouldn't trade it for something different but Tylar also knew he had to go home soon.

Tylar happily followed Tamara while upstairs there was a more serious discussion going on.

" What's wrong with that boy," Ashton asked as he placed the dishes in the kitchen. Michael sighed since he knew that that question was coming.

"I think his dad abuses him," Michael softly spoke. "Oww so you mean he's been into your class several times looking like this?" Ashton asked. Michael nodded shyly.

"He's not going back to his dad that one thing for sure."

"I can't make him stay here either now can I Ash? He needs to go tonight, by tomorrow I'll report the police when Tylar is at school so he won't have to witness anything," Michael spoke out.

Ashton wanted to reply but got interrupted by high screams of pain.

" Fuck Tamara," Ashton said as he ran out off the kitchen towards the repetition room. He found Tylar crying as well as Tamara who was holding her elbow.

" I didnt do anything please don't hit me," Tylar spoke out. Michael and Ashton felt sorry and Ashton decided that he would take Tylar home instead of Michael.

"Alright Tam let me see," Ashton said as he took a look at the arm of Tamara, "oww this is really nasty. I think it's better that you see Calum though." Michael nodded and walked with Tamara to his car.

"Alright boy it looks like you and I need to get you home as well shouldn't we?" Tylar sighed but nodded. He knew he couldn't stay here forever.

"You know where your dad lives?" Tylar nodded and let Ashton to the street he lived in.

---------------------------------------------------------

Michael parked his car at the front of the school and yawned. It had been a short night for him since there was something completely wrong with Tamara. After the drumming fiasco from yesterday night, Calum wanted to investigate further and found out that Tamara didn't just have a hypermobility in her shoulder but in her whole left side. After Calum had casted her left elbow he wanted to investigate further and without a problem he dislocated her kneecap, hip and ankle. Calum made an appointment with the orthopedic for Tamara but once she got home it was already 3.15 am. Ashton decided that Tamara would stay home today and Luke even offered to stay with Tamara. Michael was actually quite late and a few of his kids were playing on the schoolground. But they didn't caught Michael's eye, no the boy sitting next to the wall with no jacket and who looked horrible, that was the one that caught his eye.

Michael speedwalked towards Tylar. His face was full of bruises and dried blood. His arm was bent in a funny way and his arms were covered with burns. "Come here," Michael soflty whispered as he picked Tylar up.

Tylar didn't protest but flinched by every touch of Michael due to a tremendous amount of pain.

His dad threw him down the stairs again several times and had hit him with a bottle of wine on his head. His dad even burned his arms with a candle. Tylar wasn't able to stand on his own legs anymore due to the amount of pain the boy was in.

Michael picked Tylar up and walked with him towards his classroom.

"Oww boy," Michael softly spoke as he placed Tylar on his seat, "I'm calling Ash right away."

Michael quickly dailed the number of his boyfriend and within a few rings he picked up.

"Hey Michael what's wrong? You normally don't Calle me when your at work," Ashton answered as his worry began to grow.

"It's Tylar," Michael swallowed, "he has a large wound on his head, his arms are full of burns, his face is fully bruised and his arm is bend in a funny way."

"Is there any way you can get him here?" Ashton asked.

"No I was hoping you could pick him up," Michael said biting his nails.

Tylar had gone back to sleep at his desk as he normally did and Michael began to worry more and more.

"I can pick him up during lunchtime. How is he now?"

"He's sleeping b-," Michael got interrupted by Ashton.

"No don't let him sleep if he has a concussion he'll get into a coma."

Michael sighed and tried to shake Tylar awake with Succes. "Hey buddy listen to me," Michael said as he crunched down next to him, "you can't sleep right now because Ash needs to check you out. He's picking you up during lunch with his car. Is that alright to you?" Tylar softly nodded and tried to sit straight.

"He seems pretty messed up Ash. I think he's putting on a brave face. I don't know what to do with him."

"Listen Michael," Ashton sighed knowing how hard it would be, "I'm faced with stuf like that day in and day out. I'll make sure he'll be fine. After I collect Tylar, I'm calling in Luke as well to provide the best care I can give him. I need you to call the police as well because when that boy is discharged from my hospital he's not leaving my side again. I knew I shouldn't have brought him back yesterday."

"I gotta go now. Kids are nearly coming inside," Michael said as he hung up. "Feeling oke to follow my lesson?" Michael asked. Tylar nodded but he was far from okay.

Michael walked towards his door and opened it. Not much later his classroom was filled with pupils. 28 pairs of eyes were looking towards Tylar as he looked no where near presentable." You alright? " his classmate Maxi asked. Tylar nodded but just wanted this day to be over.

Michael saw what was happening with the class and decided to step in. "Alright boys and girls sit down at your own desk because I want to start my lesson," Michael said while clapping his hands. He closely monitored the facial expression of Tylar as he did that. Tylar covered his ear by each clap since his head was pounding and didn't felt right to the sound Michael made.

" Alright listen up, " Michael told the others, "when I went to my house yesterday I found something odd hanging on the gardrobe. It were three jackets. Who didn't bring his jacket home yesterday?"

Two boys and a girl raised there hand. "Alright but I want you to take it home alright. It's no weather to not wear any jackets." t

The three of them nodded and told Michael that they were sorry.

"Alright now that being cleared let's start with a history lesson then alright?" Michael happily spoke but his pupils weren't quite into it. "It's going to be a history lesson about me isn't that fun," Michael said laughing while the whole class went wild.

The music of 5sos was silently playing in the classroom when Tylar began to feel worse and worse. He raised his hand as high as he could.

"What's wrong bud?" Michael asked.

"May I please use the toilet?" Michael nodded and Tylar made his way to the small badrooms. He never felt like this before but he knew it wasn't right at all. He wanted to tell Michael but didn't have the strength to unlock his door anymore. So this was going to be it Tylar thought, he was going to die right here and now. He closed his eyes as he slowly let the darkness take control over him.

Back in the classroom the other pupils were busy doing there history work. They could draw anything that had to define their own history. Suddenly Maxi needed to use the toilet so he raised his hand.

Michael made his way towards Maxi. "What is it Max?"

"I just need the toilet but Tylar still hadn't come back," maxi said pointing to empty spot next to him. Michael immediately looked at the clock and saw that he had sent Tylar away for over ten minutes ago.

"Alright I'll see where that boy hangs out."

Michael left his classroom and shot into the Boys bathroom. Luckily the doors of the second graders where just low enough for Michael to peek over. There was one door that had been locked. Before Michael would eventually look he decided to first nock." Tylar you there buddy?" Michael asked. He didn't get a reply so decided to peek over the door. He found a unconscious Tylar laying in his own bloody vomit.

"Fuck Ty," Michael crushed under his breath. He kicked at the door which wasn't giving a budge. At his sixth attempt the door flung open and Michael immediately grabbed Tylar out of the toilet. Michael checked for a pulse which he luckily had.

Suddenly Michael saw two first year students who were busy getting their teacher degree walking past.

"Great Thomas, Violet get here now," Michael ordered the two. Voilet had studied medicine and was a trained ER student for two years.

"Violet come help me while Thomas you're taking over my class. They need to go to the sporthal in ten minutes." Both gave in to the instructions given by Michael.

"You called an ambo?" Violet asked as she tried to wake Tylar with pain stimulus. "Open your eyes for me Tylar," Violet tried once more but with no luck. She decided to lay the boy in a recovery position because if he threw up once more he could choke in it.

"Where did you find him?" Violet asked monitoring Tylar condition with her hands. Michael pointed to the last door as he was still waiting for someone to answer the damn phone.

"112 what's your emergency," the dispatcher on the other side of the line asked.

"Ambance please to sint marry school, syndey."

"Alright sir tell me what happened."

"A kid passed out in the toilet and threw up blood. He got beaten up by his dad and is in terrible shape."

"Alright ambu is on its way."

Michael wanted to reply but his phone suddenly ran out of battery since he had no time to fully charge it last night.

"Great my phone died," Michael sighed as he tangled its fingers into Tylar his hair. "You'll be fine," Michael softly whispered.

At the hospital Ashton and Calum just scrubbed out of surgery. "well that was close," Calum sighed. Ashton nodded.

"Hey I'm getting a patient from Michael so would you stay standby please?" Ashton said. Calum nodded but before Ashton could even leave the hospital both of their pagers went off.

"Code 1," Calum said as he and Ashton ran towards the ambulance station.

Code 1 usually meant that there was a victim with such needed care that one or two trauma doctors had to come as well. Calum and Ashton were both trauma doctors. Calum was the generalized one while Ashton usually came when there were children involved and since Ash got the call as well on his pager he knew there was a kid in great danger.

"Where are we heading to," Calum asked the driver once he hopped in the front. Ashton was situated in the back checking their supplies.

"Sint Mary school. There's a child who got abused and passed out on the toilet," the driver told them while he drove away with an amazing speed. Ashton got feared, maybe it was Tylar and he was too late.

"Eta of 2," the driver told them. Ashton packed the stuff he needed for the intervention.

The ambulance pulled up the driveway of the school and Calum and Ashton immediately jumped out and ran towards the entrance.

Michael waited anxiously for the boys outside the school.

"Ty?" Ashton asked. Michael softly nodded and Ashton picked up his pace. He ran towards the toilets that Michael had point out to him. Ashton was faced with a young girl who actually knew what she was doing, well at least it looked like it, and Tylar who laid there completely motionless and covered in blood.

"Thank you we'll take it from here," Ashton thanked the girl. Violet nodded and wanted to walk away but got stopped by Michael. "Would you please check my class out since I have no idea how Thomas is handeling it momentarily."

"Alright," Violet said, "just take care of the boy please." Michael nodded and hugged Violet just before she left towards his class.

"Alright. Second degree burns on his arms, injuries on legs unknown will be invested in hospital, severe headwound, unconscious probably due to pain, right elbow broken on several places," Ashton summed up the injuries he could see from one glance. Calum inserted and IV while the driver set up some monitors.

Ashton made his way to Michael.

"Where did you find him?" Ashton asked. Michael pointed to the last door and Ashton made his way towards the last toilet. It was covered in blood and than it suddenly clicked by Ashton. He quickly made his way back to Tylar. Ashton quickly opened the Boys mouth and looked with his flashlight inside of it. Tylar his mouth was covered with blood which made it clear for Ashton that he threw up the amount of blood that laid in the toilet.

Ashton quickly placed his hands under Tylar's shirt and began to feel around his stomach.

"Calum get here," Ashton ordered his colleague. Calum made his way over towards Ashton and did the same.

"His stomach is hard as stone. Internal bleeding?" Ashton nodded and ordered everyone to pack up and transport the young lad.

"Alright on my count Cal," Ashton said as both boys got either side of the gurney, "3.2.1."

Tylar got pulled up and Calum and Ashton immediately ran away with him. "Come with your own care Mikey," Ashton yelled just before the ambulance sped away.

"Eta of 5," the driver yelled out as Ashton was busy monitoring and Calum was on the phone with Luke. He promised the boys that he would be waiting outside for them. Ashton shone a light in Tylar's eyes in order to estimate his unconsciousness.

"Glasgow comascale is 3," Ashton sighed which meant that the Boys had to handle quickly to even keep the boy alive.

"Push another round of morphine because he's in pain," Ashton ordered Calum. Calum nodded and pushed 20cc of morphine into Tylar's system. He also felt sorry for the boy. Calum treated Tamara last night and knew how much she was attached to the boy even she only met him that same night.

" We're here, " the driver said as he opened the doors.

Ashton and Calum immediately hopped out and Luke came to support them.

"Let's first fix his bleeding," Ashton yelled as they ran into a cubicle. Luke already had ordered an echo and Calum didn't think twice when he placed an amount of gel on Tylar his stomach. "Here," Calum pointed out, "It's just a small rupture that could easily heal without surgery."

Ashton nodded and cut open Tylar his trousers. "Looks like a broken tibia here," Ashton sighed.

"Alright I'll order a full mri," Luke told and got on the phone. Ashton began to undress Tylar until he laid only in his boxers. Ashton and Calum gulped at the scene. Tylar's body was full of bruises and scratches. "Poor lad," Calum sighed. Ashton nodded and began to feel more and more sorry for the boy.

"CT is ready," Luke spoke as he pulled the bed of the breaks.

"I'll inform Michael," Ashton told. The others nodded. "We'll bring him to the recovery room once we're done."

Ashtin walked inside the waiting room and found Michael sitting there.

"Ash how is he?"

"Not good. He broke his leg as well. We laid burning plasterers around his arms and we're taking a CT since he's in coma."

"Ehh Ash," Michael shyly spoke, "I adopted him. The police took his dad."

Ashton took Michael in a hug.

"I have to come back to Tylar," Ashton sighed.

Ashton walked towards the recovery room.

"And?" Ashton asked as took the chart. "Well let's say that we know why he's in coma," Calum spoke up, "he got a broken eye socket and a minor rupture in his skull. I need to fix it with surgery so I planned him for tonight than he'll be fine."

"Hmm," Ashton spoke out, "just safe my son alright."

Luke and Calum stared wide eyedend towards Ashton.

"You mean?" Luke asked.

"I mens that Michael adopted the boy, he's our son now."
