Ken's Confession

When she returned to the kitchen she met Ken preparing to fry the chicken he sauced in her presence earlier.

"Why did you come back with the milk untouched? Did the Madam says she doesn't feel like drinking milk?" Ken asked. He momentarily took his attention away from what he was doing.

"Have you ever seen her reject drinking the warm milk ever since she got pregnant?" Lilian asked. She didn't sound rude nor did she sound polite. Her tone was neutral.

"That shows you the extent a woman can go for her child. Forcing ourselves to love what we disliked is one of them," Lilian said with a stern expression.

"I never said anything. I only wanted to know whether there was something else she was craving," Ken defended himself. He went back to doing what he was doing earlier.

Everywhere went quiet afterwards. The popping of the oil made Lilian shift her gaze to where Ken stood.
