Inner Court

The Sabha began with the Peshwa listing out the major happenings around the kingdom. I was pleasantly surprised to know that among these news was one about the construction of roads and various buildings for strategic reasons. Maybe this was why the Peshwa had instructed me to be present in the morning Sabha. Other happenings of note were the ongoing skirmishes along the border with a few troublesome rulers and the stirring of Mughal armies on yet another part of the country. 

Even though I was aware of the presence of Mughals in this era, this was my first time hearing about them and their deeds. It was just another one of the confirmations of the era I lived in.
