Titan made her way through the small door. Inside the room, was a small mattress which took up almost all the space, this room was indeed small, smaller than any room she had ever seen.
When she was done changing, she sat at the edge of the bed and sighed inwardly. It has indeed been a strenuous ordeal all thorough this period. She took out her compass and the map, thankfully she didn't lose them during the struggle. Taking a close look at the map and knowing that her journey was suppose to take two days from the Lynx clan, she tried to deduce her current location. She back traced her trail to find out where she is, then she scanned through the map but no matter how hard she looked through it, this village was not there. It was nowhere on the map. In fact, on the map, this village is supposed to be a big river.
She was stunned to see that this village doesn't even exist but on second thought, this map is an old one so its possible that this village came into existence after the map was drawn. Realizing this, she shrugged off her conflicting thoughts.
It was late at night when she wrapped up her research. She then peeped through a small opening on the door and saw the strange lady in the same position in which she had left her. 'Why is she sleeping like this?' Titan wondered.
Titan's throat was dry because she had been walking in the snow for hours. She then stepped out of the room without making even the slightest noise in search for water. Seeing that the strange lady was sleeping, she walked pass her and began her to look around but it didn't take thirty seconds before a low hoarse voice came from the place where the strange woman was steated.
"It's on your left."
Titan widened her eyes, why did it feel like she'd been caught stealing. She instinctively looked towards the left then raised her brow.
'How on earth did this lady know I was looking for water? Is she some sort of mind reader?'
Having thought that, she wasn't interested in the water anymore. She then began to walk back into her room.
"What? You can't sleep?" The strange lady asked which drew Titan's attention again. Saying this, she still had her head tilted backwards and her eyes closed.
Sensing no response, she spoke again "If you're not ready to sleep, sit I have something to tell you."
Titan blinked twice 'Something to tell me? What could be so important? 'Without getting any response again, the young lady gestured for her to sit adjacent her.
Titan obediently sat and after she did that, the young lady sat up and adjusted her posture by sitting up straight and placing one of the legs over the other. Her hands were still on the armrest but they were clasped together and this picture of hers gave her a domineering aura; even titan had to adjust her sitting posture because she felt like she was in the midst of ministers and great generals. She had never felt that way because no one has ever such a domineering aura that intimidated her to this extend. instead, it was the other way round but now, she couldn't even control her body from reacting in this way. Did this woman have some sort of deja vu?
"First of, you can call me D."
'Oh she has a name. Wait! What am I saying? Of cause she has a name. But what kind of name is that?' Titan was trying to decipher.
D sighed and continued, "I heard you're going beyond the mountains." She tilted her head in askance. Not that she was expecting an answer anyway.
Titan raised her brow and had the expressions of 'you know so much so why are you asking me.'
D leaned back in her chair lazily and tilted her head back "I could take you there. That's if you want me to but if you have it figured out then there's no point."
Titan's brow finally relaxed 'this lady doesn't seem to have bad intentions. In fact, she looks quite cool.' She was somehow slowly trusting her without knowing why before she slapped her cheek gently and reminded herself.
'Never trust anyone so easily.'
She looked at the woman who laid lazily and clapped her hands to get her attention. When D finally raised her head, Titan signed HOW DO YOU KNOW MY NAME?
Apparently, D understood sign language. She shrugged her shoulders "Who wouldn't know you? You're the wise heir of the Lynx king. It's only normal that I know."
Titan nodded. That made sense but she had more questions. HOW DID YOU KNOW I WAS A GIRL?
Now, D sat up again then she sighed
"Don't you know news spread fast?."
Titan did not believe her because the ministers would not just run their mouths and more so, not to a young lady of this caliber. It wasn't about her financial status in fact, it was far from that. This woman looked like someone with impenetrable mindset, even if she heard such news, she wouldn't believe it right away. Titan has come in contact with so many people but this woman was different. Somehow, she was unreadable. She knew there had to be more to what D was letting out.
"Okay fine. Let's just say I heard it from the man who brought you here. I don't know how he got the information so don't look at me like you are looking at a demon."
She wasn't satisfied but she let it slide. After a while, she signed and asked again.
WHERE IS HE?
D raised her brow. 'Who was she talking about' she wondered. When she finally realized, she widened her eyes.
"Wait! What? No. He doesn't stay here. Hell no." Titan was talking about the man who brought her here.
Her answer caused Titan to chuckle but it was only for a second. She then asked again. DO YOU READ MINDS?
"Not really. My guesses are just sometimes right. You know people say a lot just with their eyes."
SO WHAT DO YOU FEEL I'M THINKING OF RIGHT NOW?
D's lips curled up. She then shrugged and spoke nonchalantly. "You think I'm some sort of cucu lady who sleeps awkwardly."
"That's enough for today. Go to bed. I'll be expecting an answer by tomorrow morning."
Titan was unwilling to go but her eyes were heavy. In the end, she went to the room.
The next morning, Titan woke up with a headache. She obviously didn't get enough sleep but she was already used to getting up early. Immediately she got out of bed, she searched the cottage for D but didn't find her anywhere. Where could she have gone? She wondered.
Just as she stepped out of the cottage, she saw a beautiful young lady tending to her flocks. She looked gentler and younger than who she had seen yesterday. She then walked up to D and stood behind her for a while without making a sound. Then she remembered, where did all the snow from last night go? Wait where is this again? Why is this place so strange? While she was lost in her thoughts, a young lady's voice came to her ear.
"I see you're awake. I didn't expect to see you up this early. How was your night? Hope you slept well."
Titan snapped back to reality shoving her million questions to the back of her mind. She was not surprised that D knew she was standing behind her but it still felt strange to know that D had good senses.
D turned and showed her widest smile. It seemed she turned from a serious tiger to an innocent lamb. How could someone change so easily?
Titan didn't waste any time and signed, WHEN DO WE LEAVE?
D raised her brow and scoffed.
"I change my mind." she then began to walk into the cottage.
Titan forrowed her brow. Why would D change her mind all of a sudden? She has finally made up her mind and now D is saying no? But why?
"Just kidding." She shouted as she walked in.
