[THIRD PARTY POV]
"You dare lay a finger on ME?!!!!!!!" King Edison boomed and instinctively, the warriors bowed, for the amount of power that the lycan king was letting on, but Gideon just stood there, bored and staring at the King with disgust, almost as if to ask the king, "Is that all you got?"
The lycan king of Udrad looked at Gideon and once again, he was met with stone-cold eyes, that didn't give two shits about him and what had just happened. He thought Gideon would cower in fear like everyone was, but Gideon wasn't worried about himself.
The king just realized that there was nothing he would do to Gideon to make him let go. Whatever he had done to this man to piss him off this bad, it had to be worse, because no one in Udrad had ever dared to even plot against the king.
Edison was scared and for a split second, he let it show, but just like that, it disappeared.
Bored, Gideon let down the barrier and stood there, waiting for people to descend on him with their insults and spears, but no one said anything. Even Grant was no longer giving him judgemental eyes, which was crazy.
It had been a staring contest barely minutes ago and now there was nothing anymore? Damn, they needed to be this crazy more often.
"Your protege lay a hand on me, Criselda, you know what this means," King Edison began but Gideon interrupted him angrily, and worse, with all the disrespect he could manage today.
"If you want a war with the witches of Greroth, just say it like a man. Don't be standing there thinking this is fucking Udrad. I was hurt by the stupid beast, because of you. Look at me, hurt as if this is what I came here for.
"We fucking came to make peace and this shit could have been avoided if you just got up and told us the truth about the beast you forgot to put a fucking leash on. You wasted our chances of getting him, of capturing the stupid beast.
"And before you threaten Greroth, before you even think of spelling out my home for your lips, think of the repercussions of what happened here tonight," Gideon said before turning to the lycan warriors who were just standing there, his lips curling up into a smirk.
Anyone could see the witch wasn't done with the King. Criselda had given up all hope on Gideon. She knew there was more to this, of course, she was aware of the reasons Gideon would never be able to respect the king of Udrad.
Criselda was painfully aware of the pain that Gideon was holding in, and maybe that was also the reason why she had released her magic balls, the moment Gideon had let go of Edison. This was a war they would win, together.
If anyone tried anything with her son, she would turn them to ashes without so much as a second thought. She would tell them what it meant to be on the wrong side of the witches, but was it even right?
This was between Gideon and Edison, and they all could see it.
"I wonder if your lycan warriors will still be loyal to you once they know that you created the beast of the midlands. If they realize that it was your doing that brought forth the abomination the midlands is now seeing even today.
"It was all your fault all those years ago and it is your fault still. But maybe they won't say anything to your people back in Udrad, because they are worried for themselves. I wonder if you remember that I am a witch too.
"Don't try shit with me Edison, or you will get to watch your whole world crumble. And the next time you even think of talking about Greroth, make sure Udrad is better than my home. Keep in mind that if you want war, we will give you war.
"I will be there to fight you till the very end, so be careful what you wish for, karma may just decide to be kind to you and grant your wishes," Gideon concluded with a jab on the king's chest. He hadn't realized it yet, but he had been so angry that everyone had been quiet in the room.
His anger was nothing that they all had encountered before. Anyone could see that this was personal for Gideon. This was something that he had wanted to do for years. The beast must have taken someone special from him for him to hate lycans that much.
"Gideon—" Criselda finally called out to her son who was fuming. If she let this continue, then Gideon would kill the lycan king and that would be a tough one to explain to the lycans. She knew how powerful he was and she couldn't let the people in this room know about that.
However, from what had just happened, they could see that Gideon was powerful, but what kind of witch would cross all odds just to make things harsher for one of their own in the supernatural world anyway?
"Let's go home, mother. Let's leave this place," Gideon pleaded with Criselda who knew that was the smartest thing that he had ever said since they had come from the forest. There was so much they wanted to talk about, but they couldn't do it here.
Not with all of these eyes watching them.
"Okay, we will go home, but you need to rest," Criselda said to Gideon who just nodded at her.
"Excuse us."
Quietly, Criselda pulled her son out of the conference room and waked him through the endless warriors who were just starting, unsure of what they needed to do.
Whatever it was that was expected of them, was yet to be seen, because here and now, they were confused as fuck.
With Criselda and Gideon gone, they looked at each other.
"We need an explanation, Edison," Zelina said before dismissing the warriors, including Grant and Delbert.

The night was quiet in Acrod, with everyone else trying to come to terms with the fact that they had all felt the presence of the beast of the midlands. He may not have walked right into Acrod, but his growls had ripped through the midlands, like a warning to the future perpetrators.
The wolves were worried that the beast would come back to their home, and especially for Ulrike who had been the one to scare the children. They all knew the rule, and no one had ever survived the beast.
He was known for his ruthlessness and yet somehow, today, he had let Ulrike free. Sure, he had gotten some pretty good hits on Ulrike, but he had left him alive, something that had never been heard of, since the first beast attack in the midlands.
'I hope he's okay,' Grant thought to himself, just as he saw Criselda and her son next to where he was, the guest rooms. So he decided to listen in, besides, it wasn't like there was anything else that could be worse than the beast right?
"You need to learn to control your anger, young man."
That was the voice of a woman who had had enough of the tantrums thrown by her adoptive son, Gideon. She knew Gideon was never going to be on good terms with the king of Udrad, but the least the kid could do was to let everything sail smoothly.
They had a beast to deal with and yet Gideon had decided to pick fights with the worst of them all, or maybe this is what he had wanted all along. To stir chaos and make people remember that he was there with them.
"He started it!" Gideon said angrily and Criselda just stood there with him, openly staring at her son, wondering whether he had grown an extra empty brain in that head of his.
The kid had always been intelligent, but all it took to set him off was the lycan King and that wasn't something good. The only thing Criselda never understood was what Gideon was always thinking of.
One moment he was all lovey-dovey and smiley, while the next, he was like a predator who had just one prey, the king of lycans, King Edison Stitt of Udrad kingdom.
His battle with this king was something that needed more explanation, but today, Gideon needed to calm the fuck down.
"Started it? Seriously? What are you? Five? Four? Or maybe three? Fuck, Gideon, what the hell am I missing here? We came for the fucking peace talks and here you are, angry as always, ready to burn the very ground the stupid lycan stands on!
"We need to sort out the issue of the beast, or should I remind you why we are here, huh? Maybe I should just spank your ass with my sandals so you can use your fucking brain! Think, child. Think. We can't solve anything if we keep adding on to more chaos!
