After Breakfast, She Would Kick Him Out

In the morning, Li Ruyan was clutching her head and there was a muffled groan as she buried her face into the pillows.

Her hangover was killing her and she could not help but curse under her breath.

There was a pained expression on her face but no one could be blamed except for her since she was dumb enough to drink half a bottle of red wine.

She stayed in bed for a few moments before she noticed that she was clothed in pajamas.

She was supposed to be in the kitchen and she half expected to wake up in the kitchen. Li Ruyan looked at the time on her wall clock.

It was nine in the morning.

Fortunately, today was a weekend and so she did not need to come to work. Aside from Li Ruyan, Chen Zhelan who was addicted to his work still has another male secretary by the name of Qin Enlai who only works during the weekend.

Li Ruyan was not sure why Qin Enlai only works during these days but since she rarely has any opportunities to meet the guy, she was never able to know the reason and she was also not interested.

The only thing she knows was that weekdays were the days were she needed to be careful because they were her working days. The only reason why she has the guts to drink last night was that she knows that it would be a Saturday.

As to how she ended up in her bed and dressed in her pajamas, the answer came in the form of a knock from her bedroom door.

She looked up and saw Min Yue enter inside. He was carrying a bowl of what looked to be hangover soup.

Then there was also hangover medicine. She gazed at him in a bland manner. Neither of them said a word but she accepted the egg drop soup which is the perfect hangover food and started to drink it.

After finishing it, she grabbed the hangover medicine and did not hesitate to gulp it down even without water. Her head was still aching but it was greatly reduced.

She got out of bed and went to the kitchen. Min Yue followed behind her. When she stumbled, he caught her by the waist before she could fall.

Li Ruyan's heart was pricked by this action of his and she hurriedly got out of his embrace. Still not talking to him, she went to the kitchen and was planning to make herself a quick breakfast.

She was not surprised to see the devastated look on her kitchen.

Li Ruyan threw a dry glance at Min Yue who was responsible for the destruction. She did not tell him but the hangover soup was too salty that she was wondering if he used five teaspoons of salt.

"You... stay there." She told him, pointing at a chair.

"I will help clean." Min Yue told her as he grabbed a wet towel and began to tidy the kitchen, not waiting for her to speak. The reason why he did so was that he was afraid that she would kick him out of her apartment.

He was treading in thin ice.

Li Ruyan sighed before she also started cleaning. Afterward, she grabbed some eggs and bacon. She made a simple western breakfast for two and heated some milk.

The two of them sat together and ate in silence. Neither party said a word. By now, Li Ruyan had realized that Min Yue was the one who took care of her last night when she was drunk so this allowed her to be patient towards him.

After breakfast, she would kick him out.

The dishes were eaten in silence and even while drinking milk, no words were spoken between the two of them. It was as if the entire kitchen was deserted of people and although they were both aware of each other's presence, it seemed as if there was a rift separating them.

Li Ruyan wiped her mouth with a napkin when she was finished. She glanced at Min Yue who was also done eating his meal. She was about to open her mouth to speak when Min Yue stood up.

"I will wash the dishes." He volunteered before she could say anything. Her mouth was clamped shut. She watched as he went to the skin and opened the faucet, intending to wash the plates and utensils even though there was a dishwasher.

Whether it was his way of stalling the inevitable or trying to avoid the topic, Li Ruyan had quickly seen through all of it.

She tapped her fingers at the table before she opened her refrigerator and grabbed a big juicy apple then she decided to go to the living room.

She opened the channel of her flat-screen TV and sat on her full grain leather couch.

Perhaps because she was still absentminded but no matter what channel appeared on the screen, none were able to catch her attention. This lasted for about a few minutes, her, changing channels without even ten seconds.

She did not notice that the apple in her hand was already eaten by her.

Li Ruyan was about to stand up to get another when Min Yue came to the living room. He noticed her and quickly caught on.

"I'll get you another apple." Before she could refuse, he walked back to the kitchen.

Li Ruyan pursed her lips. When he came back, he handed her the apple, their hands barely touching each other as Li Ruyan accepted it.

For a moment, it was once again quiet to the point that it was almost awkward.
