Montarini Corporate

The next morning, Crescent went to the office like nothing had happened. However when she entered their department, everyone's eyes were with her and it was hard to ignore things. All the other employees that weren't in her peers were whispering under their breaths and seats, talking about how she was no match for Davina and that she was again, rejected.

"Oh so you showed up today," One of her colleagues that she didn't particularly like came to ruin her morning. Couldn't everyone be satisfied by backstabbing her? Why would they just don't leave her alone?

Truth was, many had been jealous of Cresent when she became an intern in Median Telecommunications because she was the only foreign student that was taken and her allowance then was pretty big that most of them. So all the talents and editors harbored ill feelings toward her because of this, ignoring all the contribution she made to their department and company. Now that Cresent was made like any of them and had been rejected constantly, they somehow thought they were even and that this was her karma for being too proud when in the first place, she was just forced into the spot because she was a foreign student, naïve enough to believe that such an opportunity abroad would do her good.

"Everyone must know I'm not paid enough so one absence would be a huge backlash in my payroll," She answered and gave the woman a sly smile. If there was one thing Crescent was good at, that was shutting off everyone that attempted to bully her, especially when they were not in any level higher than her, the executive level for example. "Good Morning to you Miss Allen, did you perhaps wake up on the wrong side of bed this morning that you felt the need to pick on me again?"

"Davina got the spot and favor again, so Miss Garza I was just wondering when you will realize that you are not anymore important as you think in this company," Ming Allen replied, ignoring her remark.

"In case you didn't know, I'm stuck on a five year contract here. This is my second year and I still have three more years and just yesterday, Mr. Burchman made it very clear the company had no plans of letting me go before my contract ends," Crescent replied, making everyone raise their brow to it. None of them had terms like that in their contact and so Crescent told them to annoy them even more, "But I heard Miss Allen is very close with the secretary of one of the executives, perhaps you can convince him to tell the executives to let me go in your favor...you know since I am very aware you are coveting my position yet you can do nothing about it,"

Miss Allen retreated a few steps back at what Crescent announced, eyes shooting dagger at the girl. There was a rumour indeed that Miss Allen got into Median Telecom because she had an affair with one of the executive's secretaries and Crescent blatantly told everyone about it. Balling her fist, she walked back to her table leaving Crescent with a victorious smile.

"Retreating now? I'm not yet finished," Crescent was so enjoying it but a call made her turn to another side of the room ending up her conversation with Ming Allen.

"Miss Garza!" One of the assistants in the news productions came to fetch her. "You are needed at the set! Come and hurry!"

"On the set? Wasn't it too early for that?" She asked but her question never got an answer as both the assistant and her hurried toward the studio just annexed to their department's building.

When she reached the place, she saw how busy the set was. It was obvious they were preparing for a flash report that would run along the television news thirty minutes from now and she just wondered why she was called in there. To her surprise, she saw Davina Chu on the set, with a modest sophisticated look making her look like a legitimate announcer when everyone knew she made underground jobs to have the promotion. When their eyes met, Davina Chu raised her hand to flip her freshly parlored hair in front of Crescent trying to pissed her rival off with her effortless victory.

"Crescent is already here SM," Davina called for the stage manager whom she was talking to a few minutes ago.

"Oh Crescent thank God you are already here," The stage manager welcomed her hurriedly. "Some of the higher ops will be here to watch Davina run the flash report yet Davina and I thought the script was a bit crooked. Can you redo the script and help Davina through it?"

"Just kill me Randy," Crescent refused and decided to turn her back. When she did so, Davina hurriedly went to her.

"Are you so bitter that you refuse to help?"

"Are you that incompetent you can't do impronto fillers on your script?" Crescent spat at her face. "Besides, it's not my job and if you think you can make me stand there as your personal teleprompter. Then keep dreaming,"

"You have no use here anyway—"

"Tell that to the executives," Crescent was about to leave, regretting the part why she had run to the studio thinking something was wrong. She must have known Davina was just having tantrums. As she retreated, she heard her name being called again and thinking it was Davina again, she turned and angrily cussed "What!"

When she turned and saw the face of one of the executives, Crescent wanted to swallow her words. Shit!

"Mr. Wandley, good morning," Crescent's face turned from very annoyed to very pleased. God! Did she just shout at the boss of his boss? If only she could see her face at the moment, she was very sure it was worse than crimson.

Luckily, the executive just ignored her rude welcome and asked her right away. "Miss Garza, are you in any way connected with the Montarini Corporate?"

Montarini What?
