After her morning class, Selene spent her break time discussing with Eros about their strategy and plan in making Renz fall for her.
She chose a spot where other students seldom hang out inside the campus. Selene brought Eros near the big old acacia tree near the girl's dormitory.
They took a shade under the old tree and sat down on the grass. During this hour, only a few students were passing by in that area.
That was a perfect place for Selene to talk to her invisible cupid without attracting people's attention. She was cautious not to be seen by others talking to herself.
Other people couldn't see Eros so they might mistake her as a crazy woman who was talking to herself.
She was avoiding that thing, or else, she would be marked as a crazy woman even before she could graduate this year.
"My cute angel…" Selene called Eros while flashing her charming smile matched with her puppy-eyed look.
Eros turned to her only to stop and be put in the dazed. He couldn't help but be mesmerized by her cute pretty face.
"Last night, I made up my mind! I will try to get close with Renz's friends. I think this is also one way to improve my relationship with Renz."
Selene was very enthusiastic about her plan. She was positive that it would give her an advantage if she became closer to his friends.
Meanwhile, Eros was awakened from his stupor when he heard Selene's cheerful voice.
"Oh, y-yeah, that's a bright idea, Selene," Eros promptly responded, lowering his gaze as he tried his best to hide his embarrassment.
'Oh My Angel Mother of Love, did I just space out moments ago while staring at Selene's face? Get a grip of yourself, Eros!" He mumbled, slightly scolding himself inwardly.
"But remember, getting Renz's affection is the most important thing. Getting his friend's approval and acknowledgment is just a bonus point," Eros added.
Selene agreed with Eros's last statement.
"In connection to that, I will be attending a birthday party together with Renz next week! His best friend, Arthur, will be celebrating his 24th birthday. This is a perfect opportunity to mingle with them."
Eros's mood suddenly became sour at the mention of Arthur's name. He didn't like that guy because he had spoken ill against Selene.
Eros decided not to comment on that. He didn't want to talk about Arthur or even say his name.
"You will come with me, right?" Selene asked Eros expectantly.
"Honestly, I'm very nervous. It's my first time attending a party with Renz's friends. I will be more at ease if you are there with me." There was a pleading look on her brown eyes when she said that.
Eros bobbed his head as a response. "Of course, yes. I'll come with you. Don't be nervous. I will watch over you in the shadows."
Eros patted Selene's head to comfort her. He was glad that she wanted to rely on him and she felt comfortable with his presence around.
Selene felt relieved when she heard his response.
"By the way, my cute angel…"
Eros arched his eyebrow. He noticed that Selene was calling him 'My Cute Angel' very often.
'Argh, here we go again with the word "Cute". I'm handsome! Very Handsome!' Eros's narcissistic self lamented to himself again.
"What is it?" Eros asked her, pouting.
Selene giggled before continuing her words. She couldn't help but laugh after seeing Eros pouting his lips. 'Aww, soo cute!'
"I'm dying to ask you this. Since I know you are very expert in giving love advice, can you tell me what is one of the secrets of a successful relationship?"
Selene's gaze was fixed on Eros. She was now all ears on him, anticipating his response.
Eros rubbed his chin, thinking about a good reply to that very interesting question of Selene.
After a while, Eros gave her the answer.
"One thing I could think of is communication... an open communication between the couples."
Eros glanced at her as he started to elaborate on his answer.
"A good and open communication between partners is one of the keys to a strong and successful relationship."
"How will you know each other's thoughts if you will not communicate with each other?" Eros pointed out to her.
Selene just nodded her head and continued listening to him.
"Sometimes, absence of communication between the two can create a gap and misunderstanding."
"People tend to forget that they need to communicate and express their thoughts to their partner so that they could understand them well."
Eros took a deep sigh and said, "Sometimes, they realize this too late. One day, they will just wake up asking themselves- What happened to us?"
Then Eros shrugged his shoulders while making a face.
"Do you know what, Selene?"
Selene blinked her eyes and asked, "What?"
"I have the urge to scold those people who ruined their relationship unknowingly just because they stopped communicating with each other openly."
Selene giggled after seeing Eros's annoyed expression.
"Why are you laughing?" Eros glared at her.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I can't help it. You are just so cute. You look like a kid but you talk like a 70-year-old grandpa who already learned a lot from his long years of experiences."
Eros rolled his eyes. "Believe me, I already lived longer than a 70-year-old grandpa!"
Selene let out another chuckle. "Alright! I believe you. But for me, you are still a little kid."
"Anyway, I agree with you. Don't worry, I will keep this in mind. I will make sure to communicate with Renz openly and express my thoughts and feelings."
Eros was about to respond to her when both of them heard someone else's voice.
"Selene! I've been looking for you at the canteen. But it turned out you were just here!"
Selene and Eros both turned around to see the person. Then they saw a woman standing just a few steps away from them. She was smiling and waving at Selene.
"Micaela…"
My Dears,
Do you agree with Eros too? Open communication is a key to a stronger and successful relationship.
