Whilst the battle experience of both tribes might cancel the Ji's advantage, the tribe still had their traps and defenses to rely on, thus, the battle that was about to occur back at the tribe already had an obvious result.

This was what Sam had advised Dara to do; send out a fraction of your forces to engage the enemies and have them think you're weak, whilst having your main force lie in wait for them at your base, which your enemies would now think is next to empty.

Though they were some mishaps along the line, the plan was almost nearing its completion. If there are no further surprises, even if troop 3 would lose, they would at least take out half of the current Wang tribe warriors down with them.

The remaining 500 warriors wouldn't be able to still take down the Ji Tribe. But all this would only be possible if the Wang Tribe Leader died along with the First Elder trio.
