Battle of Seagard 2

Brendan hooked his axe over the wrist of the man than just tried to stab him, yanking it to himself, he almost took of the man's hand, but as it peeled the skin and muscle off with the inside sharp edge it also hooked on the bone.

The body automatically followed few steps forward with incredible shouts full of pain following.

Next a knee to the the gut, the sharp part of the shield directly inside the man's screaming mouth, tearing his cheeks to the sides and an axe to the neck finished it altogether in less than three seconds in fluent movement.

Young Lord smiled as his last enemy's face looked so much like Joker's from his old world, only a bit less white and a bit more... well bloody.

"How fucking many are there left?!" he shouted in irritation as the sun was already shining on everyone's faces.

At the very least 8 hours passed since they started the attack, but the squid fuckers just didn't want to give up.

Initially the Northern fleet had the advantage, they still did, but the ferocity the Ironborn started to fight back with was surprising even for him.

Every time they moved forward almost cleaning a ship from their enemies, another one simply rammed into them to join the clusterfuck.

Most of the free men were taking care of fighting the spreading fires while the rest tried to simply kill the Ironborn off.

"My Lord! Ships to port!" William, one of the Praetorians informed just before Brendan saw him shouting "For Calamari!" and leaping another Ironborn head off.

There was no question about it, his men were a bit crazy, but he needed them like that for what he had in his plans for the future.

Looking at the distance on his port side, a silver eagle displayed on an indigo sails came into view.

'Finally!' Brendan knew his men were tired, he was too and the wounds all over his body fucked up his fighting prowess, and the help in cleaning up the rest of this Iron trash would be much appreciated.

"Hold strong! What is dead may never die!" not far from him another shouting voice emerged.

The black smoke still rising up to the sky and covering some places, making the people close to them throats burn, successfully blocked the vision of fighting men.

Looking around Brendan only saw few of his men, some of the bodies on the deck were from his retinue, some from the marines or other houses knights, but most of them were the squids.

From the decks of the ships blood floated down coloring the seas red.

Spiting to his side, trying to help his irritated, sore throat young Lord glanced where some Iron scum tried to mobilize his men just to see black smoke and fire.

"My Lord" one of his Praetorians, just like him covered in blood with black soot all over him handed Brendan a water pouch.

Taking a big chug out of it, and splashing some over his face he took a bandage from the aid pack situated on the back of his guard's belt and wrapped it around the man's bloodied bicep.

It wouldn't help much for the opened wound, but it was still something.

"Go and get someone to look at it, you barely are able to hold your shield Praetorian." Brendan tightened the bandage making the man grimace in pain.

This simple action made the guards around him smile.

What deserves to be noted, is that their eyes never left the places an attack can come from.

"It's just a scratch my Lord." clenched teeth and tightened fists didn't give the man the credibility he needed.

Brendan passed the water pouch to another one of his guards and looked at the slowly clearing smoke.

All around them heavy fighting took place, and it was so easy to trip on a body or to loose the balance on the slippery, blood soaked deck.

As the fight needed 100% focus from each of them, the feeling of exhaustion was even more noticeable.

Brendan wanted to rest a bit more as even after this moment of recuperating his men, just as him were still breathing heavy.

"Did anyone see the gir..." he didn't finish as a spear swished a mere centimeters from his head.

Thankfully he was able to dodge his head backwards almost feeling the breath of death on his face that brought the adrenaline injection with it.

"Mother fucker!" he saw the man standing on the other side on the Iron fleet ship, still in a posture after throwing the spear.

Brendan saw about 8-10 men surrounding a young man in a black armour with a golden kraken on his chest.

At the same time as his instincts kicked in, he lifted his axe and threw it at the man lodging it deeply into his chest as he was almost thrown out of his boots by the impact alone.

Praetorians were already on their feet, back in their fighting mode the moment the previous spear flew by.

The water pouch now cleaned the deck after being dropped down, water spilling from it washed out the red color bit by bit.

The dying moan of the Ironborn alerted the people close to him and the kraken armour man as well.

For a moment the time seemed to stop as Brendan and his five guards and the 9 now clearly visible squids just looked at each other.

"Charge!" one of the fuckers on the kraken side moved and the rest followed after him.

Brendan and his men did not wait and did the same, he only had the time to grab a spear from the body of a man on his way, moving at the front of his men he stabbed it forward protecting the rest of his body with his shield.

The men he fought against now were clearly of a higher level than the rest, as the man nearly evaded it and broke it in half with his leg by bringing it to the ground.

The young Lord always gave his all in the training or battles so such a situation wasn't so surprising to him.

As his oponent was preoccupied with breaking his weapon, Lord Dustin simply took a fast step forward.

He watched as the surprised squid slowly turned his head not expecting this move, the situation gave him ample time to decide on his next action, and he choose the easiest one and plunger the sharp, broken shaft into the man's eye.

Brendan always knew his reaction time and the slow down effect was his gift that no one else could replicate, unfortunately it didn't change the fact that he was only a human for which he received a confirmation a second later.

One of the other Iron guards grabbed his shield from his blind spot and twisted it almost braking the young Lord's arm, only for him to feel and hear a "pop" sound and then agony followed.

Brendan screamed as pain just stabbed his nerves twisting his arm in unnatural direction.

This didn't last long as a Praetorian tackled the oponent to the ground slamming the Islanders body into the ship deck where a struggle between them took place.

When the painful jerk came, before the attacker released the shield Brendan was already on his knees.

With a shaking hand he took out a dagger from his side and cut through the leather strap that secured his left hand to the shield.

Still feeling the cold sweat and the goosebumps, his body emanated a pulsing pain in his left arm, he gritted his teeth and wanted to retreat, unfortunately no one gave him the time to do that.

In the initial attack the Dustin's managed to equalize the numbers so now, each of his men were fighting one on one and the kraken armor guy repeatedly stabbed his sword or swung his axe only allowing Brendan to evade by a hair length.

The situation didn't look to optimistic, but as he saw his opponent moves slower than his enemy did his, there was no panic in Lord Dustin eyes.

He tried to mount a counter attack with his dagger from time to time, the numbed and hurting left arm broke his focus with every unexpected attack of pain.

Brendan now saw the man in front of him clearly, short beard, scar on his left cheek, in his late twenties.

The man's eyes full of hatred and enmity while he swung the sword in his right arm from the bottom to the top and this was Brendan's chance.

He moved forward gathering his last resolve and using his left arm to lock the opponents sword hand under his armpit, he released his dagger and grabbed the other hand of his opponent, the one with the axe by the wrist keeping it as far away from his body as he could.

When the two of them started struggling, he spit blood from his mouth to the Ironborn's face, now he was even happy for the broken lip, a result of previous fights when he was struck by an elbow to his face, now effectively blocking the squids vision, Brendan started headbutting him time after time.

Feeling on his forehead and hearing the "crack" sound from his opponent nose, his head was spinning as well, but Lord Dustin knew what to do now as he felt the pressure of the confrontation lessening.

Biting the side of the man's neck as hard as he could, where he remembered the artery location was, he teared a chunk of the flesh from it.

His mouth now full of iron tasting blood made him gag, but he held it in and spit the flesh out.

His sight met the wide open, and terrified eyes of the other man, all the fighting around him momentarily paused as everyone watched the two youths.

One, clearly in pain with fresh blood dripping down his chin and throat, and the other one spraying blood from his torn apart neck, loosing his life force with every drop of the precious liquid.

"Blood wolf!" "Blood wolf!" "Blood wolf!" no one knew who started chanting first, but soon everyone on the Northern fleet side heard it.

Funny as Loki, Laika and Red stayed back on Black Betha, so why wolf Brendan though at that moment.

It only lasted for few minutes when the Ironborn that were closest to them attacked again, yet this time with less vigor.

Brendan was still unaware what was the reason for all of that, but he didn't think about it, grabbing the sword that was still in the now slowly bleeding out oponent hand, Lord Dustin emptied his mouth by spitting everything in it out few times and wiping it with his sleeve, and slowly moved to his closest guard to help with the fight.

The pain was enormous, he almost blacked out, but the fight wasn't over yet and he knew it.

Fortunately before he had a chance to do anything, arrows swished through the air accurately hitting the rest of the squids.

Brendan and his men turned to see indigo colored knights with a white eagle on their chests.

"Glad for you to join us Lord Mallister!" Brendan laughed as he slid down to his arse, his back on the ship rail.

Biting his tongue to diverter the suffering, he called for one of his men to pop his shoulder back in.

"Do you know what you just achieved Lord Dustin?" Jason asked while looking at the tired men, and the boy now biting on a leather strap while shaking his head. "That was Rodrik Greyjoy, firstborn son of Balon Greyjoy..." Lord Mallister pointed at the now cold body that was missing a part of his throat.

When hearing a popping sound and the muffled screams of the boy before him, followed by a hasten breaths he really admired this old Northern house with the boy at it's lead.

"I'm really happy to hear that Lord Mallister, but do you think maybe your men could help with the cleanup? We were at it with them for more than half of the day," Brendan pointed at the bodies of the Ironborn "my men need rest." he finished not showing any joy himself or any of his guards, Mallister saw only tired men.

"We are already on it Lord Dustin, you were the last ones with the highest number of squids gathered." Jason knew the men only wanted to rest, so he didn't push it.

When Brendan was about to close his eyes and rest, a body slammed next to him.

With one eye opened he looked to his side, as slow as possible not to irritate his arm.

"How was the sea food my Lord?" William asked wiping the dripping blood from his face and hands.

"Raw..." Brendan answered before closing his eye for a moment.
