Below, in the streets surrounding the building Ash was standing on top of, the half-demon could hear the yells of panicked soldiers as the demons ahead finally entered the city. 

The battle had begun, and it was marked by demonic screeching and magical projectiles filling the air. 

Ash, who currently had a pair of black wings on her back, overgrown horns, and demonic hands with golden gauntlets surrounding them, watched the chaos begin to unfold with sharp violet eyes that scanned the area. Her plan was simple. Eliminate enough demons on the ground to ensure that her friends, Yumi, Satsuhiro, Kasumi, Sinneah, and most important of all, Keiko, wouldn't be harmed in her absence. Once that was done, however, the next step was to go into the portal and close it. With that out of the way, she would be free to fly down to Amber and try to help Kaori.
