PART 2: LOVELY NIGHTMARES

~~ *Foolish child, what have you done....*  she yelled out,

The lady had a neatly dressed hair, coiled in a top knot, with a knee length well tailored beige gown and a pair of louboutins,

Her dilated nostrils and clenched jaw said it all, those green eyes glared at him furiously,

*what happened damien?, you were supposed to look after your sister, she is always supposed to come first, this stupid behaviour is going to cost you alot, Stupid! Stupid! Stupid boy....*. ~~

Damien opened his eyes, still hearing the voice of his yelling mother ringing in his head, he took in a deep breath and sat up on the bed, he rubbed his hand against his eyes trying to get them to open properly, he looked at the alarm clock beside his bed '6:30am',

He clearly wasn't getting anymore sleep, after the lovely nightmare he just had of his dead mother yelling at him from a very mentally brutal past, he got out of bed and went to prepare for the day, a day which he didnt know yet but was going to be a very frustating one.

Damien walked into the coffee shop, taking a quick glance around to see if everything had be placed properly for the day,

*good morning damien* one of his workers greeted,

*hey, how's it going* damien replied walking to the inner back of the shop to put on an apron,

A group of men walked into the shop, unsettling the quiet decorum, with their loud laughters and talks,

*hey, the coffee bags are not complete, one is missing* damien said walking out from the back into the main shop, looking at the list of items written on a sheet of paper in his hands,

*hey....*he looked up to see why he wasn't getting any reply to who he was talking to and his eyes met the group of young men standing in front of the counter,

He froze just for a second as he stared at fifteen years of his high school life standing in front of him,

'THE STANLEY BOYS' the nastiest group of people damien had ever met in his life,

*Dammy...*one of them yelled smiling, walking past the rest of the group, towards damien

*Stanley...*damien replied, folding the sheet of paper in his hand into the front of his apron,

*you look the same, those dashing emerald green eyes* Stanley reached out towards damien pulling him into an embrace,

*you look good man* Stanley said tapping damien's back,

*what are you doing in riddleston?* damien asked trying to pull out of the slightly uneasing embrace,

*you don't look so happy to see us, to see me* Stanley said,

*that's not it* Damien replied walking to the other side of the counter,

*it seems like, dammy boy* richard said,

The Stanley boys were all Stanley's minions back in riddleston high and from the looks of it they still clearly are, the eight of them did the nastiest things and got away with them, because their parents practically owned the school, I used to hang with them once upon a time but after Blair, like everything else in my life that relationship ended very abruptly,

Richard, Benjamin, Duke, William, Leopold, Lenny, Liam and Stanley, I think there was gay one in the bunch but i couldn't remember their labels but I could remember Stanley' clearly,

He was referred to as the king.

*why are you guys in town?* damien asked again

*Stanley is getting MARRIED!!!* Duke yelled along with the rest of them,

Damien bursted out in laughter,

He looked at them and saw how serious they were,

*oh, you're serious...*damien asked sarcastically,

*what's wrong with you man, you should be happy for 'the king'* Leopold said with disappointment on his face,

*whoa...my condolences to the young lady.....I'm just joking lighten up* Damien said, seeing no one was laughing,

*congratulations, she must be very lucky to have found someone like you* damien said preparing their coffee orders,

*you're killing me damien, you should come to my bachelor's party, it's going to be through out this whole weekend, I've missed the old damien, the nasty and gnarly damien* Stanley said,

Damien stared at him and smiled, covering the cups of their coffee and handing it to them, they all walked out yelling,

*DAMMY BOY!!!!!*

Stanley stopped at the door and turned back

*I've missed you damien, the gnarly and chaotic you, not who I'm looking at right now* Stanley said before walking out of the coffee shop.

*hello stranger* damien looked back from behind the counter,

*Jane....* he replied smiling,

*when does your lunch break start? Or does the owner of the coffee shop have none* Jane asked

*oh, I have one alright and I don't play with it and it started two minutes ago* damien replied checking the watch on his wrist, he pulled the apron from around his neck and walked to the customer's side of the counter,

*let's go for a walk* he said signaling someone to look after the shop while he left,

*So how's your article on the lifestyle of sub urban housewives coming along? * Opening the door of the shop for her,

*I'm stuck, there isn't really much to write about *

*and I thought I was of great help*

*you were, I'm still just trying to piece it all together...you owe me a dinner by the way*

Jane smiled turning around to face him

*I know, I was thinking this weekend but something came up*

*something like? *

*some old friends just came back to town and one of them is getting married, so he invited me to his bachelor party, which is tomorrow and Saturday, I really want to take you out for dinner.....its definitely going to happen, we just have to find the day*

*would you ever leave riddleston? *

Jane asked as they continued walking,

*why? *

*you've been in this town for a very long time, don't you ever feel the need to want to leave? *

*I haven't really thought about it*

*not even once? *

Her lips quirked disbelievingly

*why are you surprised?*

*you looked adventurous to me or at least I felt so*

*it never really crossed my mind, this town has alot of history, my history and that of my father's, whatever of what is left of them is here, and I guess I'm not okay with letting that go*

*I can see why you would stay*

*nothing has really made me want to leave this town, even after the death of my parents and all that happened before that, most people would want to leave everything behind but I couldn't, I tried but couldn't*

*after all you've been through, you deserve to see the world and everything it has to offer, I should make a bucket list for you*

Damien threw his head back smiling,

*and what would you name that bucket list? *

*damien's guide of the world.....*

swinging her hand in the air to demonstrate

*quite the heading*

damien replied still smiling,

*what about you?....do you plan on leaving riddleston?*

*would you come after me if I did? *

*I just might* damien teased,

*if I get the opportunity, I would...this town has never really had a place for people like me,  I don't fit into anything*

*isn't that a good thing?, it makes you different from the rest of us ignorant privileged folks* Damien replied

*i never said you were ignorant or privileged and  different isn't a good thing, not in this town.....you either belong or you don't and those who don't, do not get treated well*

Damien stopped and looked at her,

*I really like you Jane and I want to have that dinner with you and different in this town makes you good and good things might not settle well with most people in this town but a good thing is what I need and I....*

Jane leaned in and kissed him, she hoped she wasn't making a mistake because he just stood there still without making any sort of movement,

She was pulling away but he pulled her back in an embrace and returned the kiss.
