The Lapras Pod

After winning the winner's trophy of the Orange League, Ashlyn decided that it was time to get back to Kanto, since the Orange League was now over and done with. Flint went on a blimp to head back to Kanto and go back on a ship to get to Sinnoh. Right now the gang was riding on Lapras, across the ocean.

"I can't wait to show my trophy and badges to mum and Prof Oak." Ashlyn said.

"I still say that your battle with Drake was amazing Ashlyn." Volkner complimented.

"It certainly was." Ashlyn smiled.

"I can't wait to go to Kanto and meet Prof Oak." Tracey said..

"Lapp!" Lapras suddenly turned and started to speed up.

"Rai!" Both electric mouse Pokémon yelped.

"Woah!" The gang held on tightly.

"Hey, what's wrong Lapras?" Ashlyn asked. Then her answer soon came; there in the distance was a school of Lapras.

"Look at all of those Lapras." Tracey sketched in his pad.

"Hey I wonder if this is the pod that Ashlyn's Lapras was separated from." Misty pondered.

"Could it be? Lapras is that your family?" Ashlyn asked her transport Pokémon.

"Lappp!" Lapras replied, nodding happily, he has found his family.

"I see." Ashlyn smiled, she remembered her promise to him and now she can fulfill it.

"Lappp! Lappp!" Lapras' called out towards the pod.

The Lapras' pod heard Ashlyn's Lapras but ignored him.

Volkner frowned, "That's strange. They're ignoring him." He said.

"Lappp!" Lapras tried to follow them.

One of the Wild Lapras used Mist to cover their escape.

"Lapppp! Lappppp..." Lapras cried out as the pod of Lapras' disappeared.

"Lapras." Ashlyn frowned.

"That was weird." Tracey said.

"Lappppppppp!" Lapras' cried out and began to cry. Ashlyn rubbed his neck to calm him down.

"What happened?" Misty asked.

"I don't know," Tracey replied, "Something isn't right here."

The gang went to the nearby island, Tarroco Island, to find some answers. So the gang called Prof. Oak.

"Yes, that behavior is unusual." Professor Oak frowned, "But I suspect that the Lapras' acted that way because they are afraid of humans."

"But Professor Oak what made the Lapras' afraid of people so badly?" Misty asked.

"I don't know but my guess is that some humans has been attacking them." Prof. Oak replied.

"Poachers." Ashlyn growled.

"How did you guess that, Ashlyn?" Prof. Oak asked.

"Those are the only types of humans who would hurt Pokémon." Ashlyn replied, angrily.

"They're actually Pokémon Poaching Pirates." A woman's voice said.

"Huh?" The gang turned around.

"Officer Jenny." Ashlyn said.

"Um, did you say pirates?" Tracey asked.

"That's right. You see this Island is suppose to be a Pokémon No Capture Zone but we've received reports that pirates has been poaching wild Pokémon just off shore." Officer Jenny explained.

"Pirates? Like the ones in books?" Misty asked.

"Yes, but this Pirate is different. We call the lead pirate Captain Crook and his crew go around areas where Pokémon are not allowed to be captured and then they catch that Pokémon to sell them at a tremendous price."

"Those-" Ashlyn bit her lips to prevent herself from swearing. "It's no wonder those Lapras' were immediately trying to get away from us."

"How are we going to help them?" Misty asked.

"Well for starters," Ashlyn said, "We should look for the Lapras pod before they do."

"But Ashlyn those Lapras will be scared of us." Tracey pointed out.

"Maybe so, be we've got to do something," Ashlyn stated, "Besides we promised Lapras we would reunite him with his pod again." Then she turned to the video phone, "Prof. Oak, can give me Dragonite, Blastoise, Rory, and Chrystal? We're gonna need some help." Ashlyn asked.

Prof. Oak nodded, "Right away."

Misty had left Togepi with Nurse Joy to keep him safe. Right now, Ashlyn, Volkner, Misty and Tracey were out on the ocean to find the Lapras pod.

"Do you think that the pirates Officer Jenny told us about will appear?" Tracey asked.

"I think they will," Misty replied, "with a Lapras pod around here, which poacher wouldn't?"

"Not to worry," Ashlyn assured them, "I got Rory, Dragonite, Blastoise, and Chrystal from Prof Oak's lab. So if those pirates do come, I'll show them no mercy."

BANG! BANG BANG!

"Lap!" Lapras was startled from the sudden sound.

"What was that?" Misty gasped.

Volkner looked through the binoculars and saw a ship, "Bad news. The pirates found the Lapras Pod and is attacking them not only with cannons but with a school of Tentacruel as well." He explained.

"Lapras full speed ahead!" Ashlyn ordered.

"Lappp!" Lapras swam as fast as he could, towards the pirates ship.

"Rory, Dragonite, Blastoise, Chrystal, and Natsu!" Ashlyn called out the atrocious dragon, shellfish, shiny atrocious, crystal snake, and shiny flame Pokémon.

"Natsu, can you give Tracey a ride to go get help?" Ashlyn asked.

Natsu nodded and Tracey jumped onto Natsu's back, "Be careful you guys." he said to them, before flying off.

Ashlyn, Volkner, and Misty headed towards the Lapras pod who were surrounded by the Tentacruel's. They came up towards the side of the ship and heard Captain Crook say that it was time to catch them.

"Oh no you don't!" Ashlyn shouted.

"You're not catching any Pokémon around here!" Misty yelled.

"Ah, some nosy brats are planning to ruin our plans," Captain Crook snarled, "But they won't be stopping us, attack!"

The pirates began firing cannons at them. Misty released her Staryu, Goldeen, Slowking and Poliwhirl twins from their Pokéballs and ordered all of them to use Water Gun to attack the ship. Volkner released Raichu and told him to use Thunder Shock on Captain Crook and his crew.

"Rory use Dragon Rage! Dragonite use Dragon Pulse! Blastoise use Skull Bash! Chrystal use Hidden Power! Lapras use Ice Beam!" Ashlyn ordered.

All of the attacks hit most of the Tentacruel's.

As Ashlyn was battling the Tentacruel's, Volkner and Misty had Captain Crook and his crew tied up in ropes. To make Captain Crook not give any more orders to the Tentacruels, Misty gagged him with a handkerchief.

Once defeating most of the Tentacruel, Ashlyn noticed that there were three left.

"Three left." Ashlyn said, "Get ready Lapras."

"Lapp!" Lapras nodded.

"Tentacruel!" The three reminding Tentacruel were about to attack when they were all the sudden frozen.

"Ice Beam." Ashlyn gasped, surprised.

"Lapppp!" The wild Lapras Pod appeared, surrounding the young Lapras.

"They trust us now." Ashlyn smiled.

The Lapras swam up to Ashlyn and her Lapras and thanked them for saving them. The light blue Lapras swam up to Ashlyn's Lapras and they nuzzled each other. Ashlyn realized that the light blue Lapras was her Lapras's mother and was happy that they found each other at last.

Soon Officer Jenny and her men had arrived at the scene on a boat and arrested Captain Crook and his crew. Tracey was on the boat and were happy to know that Ashlyn, Volkner, and Misty were okay.

Officer Jenny spoke to the gang; "I can't thank you all enough for helping me catch Captain Crook. I have been after him and his crew for a long time."

"It was our pleasure, at least now they won't be able to poach any more Water-type Pokémon." Ashlyn said.

Misty released all Captain Crook's Tentacruel as wild Pokémon, "You're all free from being the Captain's Pokémon now, go and do whatever you all want." She said.

"Also be careful and not let any evil people capturing you or you'll be stuck do bad things again." Volkner warned.

"Tentacruel!" All the Tentacruel's nodded and took the warning seriously.

The Tentacruel's jumped into the ocean and happily swam away in the ocean to live their new lives.

Ashlyn and Lapras were looking at the Lapras Pod.

"I guess this is it." Ashlyn said, trying not to cry. "My promise to you since the beginning of your capture, it fulfilled and now it's time for you to return back to your family."

"Raichu." Tesla smiled sadly.

"Thanks Lapras." Ashlyn hugged her transport Pokémon head, one last time, "For everything and I hope that you and your mom will be together forever." She said.

Ashlyn began remembering about her times with Lapras; when she caught Lapras, travelling across many oceans with Lapras, using Lapras in some gym battles and their bonding with each other.

Lapras helped Ashlyn onto Officer Jenny's boat and then swam towards his mother. Tears began to gather in Ashlyn's eyes. Volkner came up behind her and hugged her as she started to cry.

"Thanks." She croaked out and took a deep breath and was about to shout out.

"Hmm?" Volkner blinked.

Ashlyn saw Lapras and his mother coming towards them, "Huh? What's wrong?" She asked the two.

"Lap Lapras Lap. (I want to stay with you, Ashlyn.)" Lapras said.

"What?" She said in surprise.

"Lapras Lap Lapras. Ras Lapp Lapras. (I don't want to be separated from you or my mom. So she wants you to capture her.)" Lapras explained.

"Lapras Lap Ras. Lap Lapras. (I don't wish to be separated from my son again. I'm willing to leave the pod in order to be with him and you, Ashlyn.)" Lapras's mom said.

"Are you serious?" Ashlyn's eyes widened.

"What's wrong Ashlyn?" Misty questioned.

"Yeah, and what did those two Lapras say?" Tracey added.

"Well try not to get excited," Ashlyn said, "But my Lapras said that he still wants to stay with me. And his mother said that she wants me to catch her too."

Volkner, Misty and Tracey were surprised by that.

"Lapras also said that he didn't want to separate from me or his mum, and then his mother said she understood, and since she doesn't want to be separated from her child she is giving up on living with the Lapras pod and wants to be with me too." Ashlyn continued.

"Then that means you will have two Lapras Ashlyn." Tracey said.

Ashlyn asked Officer Jenny if it was okay, since they were in a non-capturing area.

"It's all right Ashlyn," Officer Jenny assured her, "I will accept this capture, since the mother Lapras trusts you so much and I know that you will take good care of both of them."

So Ashlyn returned her Lapras and caught the light blue Lapras, then sent them both to Prof Oak's lab. She named Lapras's mom Cyan.

"This is going to be some tale to talk to Prof Oak about." Ashlyn chuckled.

So all was well in the end; the evil Captain Crook and his crew were in jail, the Lapras pod were free from being attacked by poachers and Ashlyn gained another Lapras.

And now it was time to leave the Orange Islands and head back to Kanto. Ashlyn's adventure in the Orange Islands was now over.
