Heir of Shendu ( gain the power of the twelve talismans, eat magic crystals to strengthen Shendu)

I was wondering where my healing was coming from and here's the answer. I've got the twelve talismans alright and I'm the heir of Shendu. That can't be a good thing because no demon has an heir unless they want to control them. I look up at Lord Miach with shock on my face.

"Now that you've seen that skill and it's description can you tell me anything that might be related to it."

"Um, yeah, you see this tattoo on my chest it's Shendu. There are some stories I heard when younger about him so I can give you the basic rundown on him but its not very good."

"I can imagine. When I was giving you my blessing a very dark and evil power suddenly sprang out from inside you and forcefully wrote in that skill. I tried to use my power to contain it but there's only so much I can do with just your falna and not affect you."

So the power of Shendu was sleeping inside me and the falna woke it up.

"That does explain somethings. You see Shendu is a demon dragon. He was defeated long ago by sorcerers who sealed him and split his power into twelve talismans. Each talisman contained a different power and could be used by anyone without side effects. The only danger was if someone gathered all the talismans and used them to free Shendu."

"I see, and you now have these talismans?"

"No I don't know where they are." I shake my head wondering about being an heir.

"Well I took some time to try to figure out that skill of yours so I have some ideas. You said the talismans were the power of Shendu right."

"Yes."

"The second part of the skill is strengthening Shendu. Now can you use any of the talismans as described in the skill."

"Let me try." I get comfortable, close my eyes, and use the old reach inside yourself gimmick figuring that its probably my best shot. It takes a while but I can vaguely feel twelve cool spots in my chest area. That's also when I realize the rest of my chest is warm. I open my eyes and stare directly at Lord Miach.

"Yes I can feel the talismans, but I can also feel Shendu."

"Well that's at least a start. Can you use the talismans or just feel them."

"Just feel them. It's too hard right now to notice them and it feels like they don't have enough strength to do much."

"Are they where your healing powers come from?"

"They should be, but they feel almost dormant."

"You probably overworked them when you healed yourself earlier today. You see from what I can understand from this skill, Shendu is imprisoned in this tattoo of yours. How I do not understand, but this skill of yours allows you to use his powers through the seal with the talismans as keys. However, from what you've said this Shendu appears to be weakened and as such the talismans are useless without a power source. The second part of the skill allows you to feed Shendu magic crystals to strengthen him and by extension the talismans. The problem with this should be obvious."

"Right, if Shendu gets too strong he might break free and kill me."

"And worse. If you feed him too much there is no telling what level he might reach once set free. Especially if he manages to make it to the dungeon." Well ain't that a lovely thought. An overpowered Shendu running around getting stronger on an infinite buffet of magic crystals. If that happens he'll make what he did in the cartoons look like heaven. A shudder of fear runs through me.

"As such you are forbidden from eating magic crystals."

I instantly wanted to object but the look on his face was the same one he gave Naaza when he told her he would not trick people into his familia. If I want to be able to eat crystals I'm going to have to convince him.

I try to think about how to convince him, but when the potential for Shendu to get loose is on the table there aren't many good arguments. Still this is my cheat! My path to Power! I've got to figure out a way to use it. The only advantage of eating crystals would be stronger talisman powers so I'll have to work with that. Lets see. The talismans are versatile and could really help me in the dungeon the ox grants strength, the chicken flight. Both good but not enough. The snake grants invisibility which could save my hide, but I don't think that will cut it. Wait! My healing! The horse and dog grant healing and immortality/rejuvenation! That should be enough to convince him to at least let me eat enough to unlock my cheat.

"Lord Miach, I understand your concerns, but please allow me to at least eat enough magic crystals to unlock my talisman powers."

"No, the danger is too great when you could get stronger like every other adventurer. I will not have you lose your life and unleash evil by making this deal with the devil." Lord Miach sits there and starts outputting his divinity and its awe inspiring. I can barely sit here but I can't give up yet. Getting down on the ground, I perform dogeza hoping it will help.

"I understand your concerns Lord Miach, but the talismans contain power that I cannot obtain with a status. Each has a unique power that could save my life. You've already seen the healing power I could obtain, and if I become skilled enough in it I may even be able to allow others to share these powers as well." Lord Miach dials down the divinity a bit to give me breathing room. I wait as he seems to consider my words.

"I can sense you're telling the truth, and if you really can share those healing powers without side effects there are many who could be saved. However, you will have to explain in detail. I will also call Naaza to evaluate this possibility as she has more dungeon experience than me. You will also only get one chance to convince me." I bow my head in grattitude.

"Thank You" "A chance is all I could ask for."
