57 Something Beautiful

I didn't have to wait long ... the wind grew much stronger, actually from a pleasant breeze, it turned into something destructive ... several buildings lost their roofs, empty barrels and crates flew in the streets, smaller trees leaned to the ground, many branches were left broken ... but what happened at sea was something beautiful.

The only time I saw something similar, in my previous life, as a teenager, I went to the Baltic Sea at the end of November, the water was only 5° C (41° F), but we decided to go swimming anyway. I didn't even know that people's bodies could take such a shade of purple. The next day there was a storm with a strength of 9 on the Beaufort scale. Something beautiful, and now it was similar ... High and long waves, streaks of foam ... a man can recover from a lot of problems, but the sea will fuck you up...

And that's what happened to the Swedes, the storm was sudden and violent, the crews of the ships were not prepared for something like this ... Great waves crashed against the sides of the ships, water poured onto the decks, the helmsmen were losing control ... a few ships began to heel, but what I saw later, even I did not expect ... Lightning began to hit the surface of the sea, which became even more restless.

At first I thought it was Perun's doing ... but a few seconds later I saw that the sailors and soldiers who fell into the sea were dragged into its depths by the young Alkonost... they were Slavic demons, with the body of a woman and a bird, their singing resembled the singing of sirens ... Adult Alkonost laid their eggs on the beach and then pushed them into the sea, and when the young were hatched from the eggs, their birth was accompanied by powerful lightning and storms.

I wasn't sure if only I could see it, but I could tell from my people's reactions that the storm was worrying them, not the strange creatures, and I felt someone grabbing my arm.

"Lord, our bows won't do anything in this wind, and a few ships are already mooring." (Saddat)

Although he spoke calmly, you could hear a bit of concern in his voice.

"After every storm comes the sun, now it will be similar. Tell our people not to panic. This storm is a gift from God ... For the next few weeks the bodies of the Swedes will be thrown onto the surrounding beaches." (MC)

I looked at the harbor, Saddat was right, the seven ships fought the sea element and tried hard to dock, they threw anchors and ropes as it was shallower, the sailors jumped into the water and tried to tie them to whatever they could... but it was at sea that the real Armageddon took place, several lightning bolts struck the ships, causing fires, breaking masts or making large holes through which water poured. In one case, the lightning must have hit the gunpowder warehouse because there was a great bang ... I saw only pieces of wood soaring up and a large fireball.

The ships collided with each other and with every minute the Swedish fleet ceased to exist, there was no escape ... something beautiful. Unknowingly, I started humming "Ghost of the Navigator" by Iron Maiden... Once I realized what I was doing I started laughing ... my sick sense of humor.

I felt my hand getting warmer and warmer, I opened it and looked at the amber, its color became more and more bright... after a while it broke up into millions of pieces no larger than grains of sand... and a few minutes later the wind ceased, the sea calmed down and on its surface I did not see a single undamaged Swedish ship, out of a fleet of 125, only seven ships that moored in the port survived... My wish was imprecise, I hope I didn't screw up.

As soon as there was silence, Gustav Adolf's soldiers and sailors began to hurry out of ships, everything was very chaotic. Some fell to the ground and vomited, others prayed ... and I only hoped that the Swedish king was alive.

"Lord, what are we doing?" (Saddat)

Saddat reappeared behind my back ... tartar and ninja in one. I didn't even hear it coming.

"We are waiting. When everyone has got off the ships, you will light Greek fire, then start shooting the Swedes with bows and muskets, using grenades wait ... if they want to force their way forward, let them. There is no escape from the city." (MC)

(Teofila Tarło / Secretary Kowalski POV)

"I don't know what the order is in this house!! Everyone does what they want!!! As soon as Wilkomir left and there is no order here!!!" (Teofila Tarło)

"Lady, please don't scream. I have gray hair, but thank God I have good hearing. Please tell me what happened." (Secretary Kowalski)

"How can I be calm?! I was robbed!!! My pearl necklace was stolen." (Teofila Tarło)

"Maybe this necklace got lost somewhere? Since I have been serving the Jazłowiecki family, such things have not happened." (Secretary Kowalski)

"You think I'm stupid and I don't know I was robbed?!" (Teofila Tarło)

"No, I believe you are a woman." (Secretary Kowalski)

"Search the castle immediately and find the culprit." (Teofila Tarło)

"If it will calm you down, I will do it, although it is a waste of time in my opinion. If it is lost, it will be found, if it has been stolen, it is probably not in the castle anymore." (Secretary Kowalski)

"I don't ask for opinions!!!" (Teofila Tarło)

"Ehh ... Woman ... long hair on the head, short mind in the head." (Secretary Kowalski)

(End POV)

Less than half an hour later, all Swedes were already on land, but it still did not resemble an army, but a collection of random people ... no organization, no formation or protection of the area ... maybe they were still shocked that they did not die, or thanked God that he saved them ...

"Fire!!!" (MC)
