The four of them went back to the house and each took the time to take a shower. Currently, there were only two rooms inside the dwelling space.

Because Mu Qingqing and Mizuki Rei was sharing. Lin Jiaojiao also shared a room with Lilian Mo.

They all had a tacit understanding not to be involved with the survivors that they freed. It was already good enough that they freed them. They were not obligated to take care of them after that.

Besides, Lilian Mo who was acting as the leader of the group was not keen on recruiting. Lin Jiaojiao was an exemption since Lilian Mo owed Lin Fang in her past life.

"What can I do? I love my job, Miss Mo. I want to continue saving people's lives." He told her once even though he was fatigued and was sleep deprived due to his demanding job.

Lilian Mo began to respect him since then.

Though they have yet to meet in this life, Lilian Mo still thinks of him as her friend and confidant. The times they shared together during her past life were one of the few memories she cherished.

Even though in the end, Lin Fang turned crazy after repeatedly being threatened with Lin Jiaojiao's life, consequeny being forced to participate in an illegal experiment, Lilian Mo could not bring herself to hate him.

Lin Jiaojiao in her past life suffered as a plaything by some random earth ability user. That random ability user was probably Liu Shi.

In her past life, due to Liu Shi's meticulous way of hiding, no one found out about the base. It was not until three years passed that Liu Shi was discovered and happened to do the unthinkable by offending Lu Jingren's group.

Lu Jingren may have come to teach Liu Shi a lesson but he did not intend to save others that were not part of 'his people'.

To Lu Jingren, outsiders were no different than stones at the side of a road. He believed that there exists two kinds of people: his people and outsiders.

He would naturally protect and care for his people but when it comes to outsiders, they could simply get lost and he wouldn't even bat an eye.

So even though he had killed Liu Shi, Lin Jiaojiao was still in despair. The person that had tortured her for years died in the hands of someone else and that someone had no intentions to help her at all.

She was not reconciled. Furthermore, she was once again picked up by a faction from the military and brought to the military base at S City.

At that time, Lin Fang was approached by Dr. Wen to help in an illegal experiment on ability users. Lin Fang still has his own work ethics and refused.

However, Dr. Wen later found out that Lin Fang has a sister and went to fish out Lin Jiaojiao from the military base, hiding her in his lab.

Dr. Wen used Lin Jiaojiao as a hostage and threatened Lin Fang to cooperate with him.

Lin Fang who has been searching for his sister for a very long time was forced to agree.

In secret, he and Dr. Wen along with the higher ups in the military base were colluding and experimenting on ability users, trying to find a way to reproduce the abilities so that other non-ability users could gain abilities and help fight against mutants.

Lilian Mo could still remember the grim expression on Lin Fang's face every time Dr. Wen came to talk to him.

Lin Fang was doing something against his own moral code and principles but it broke him when he found out that his own sister was also being experimented on by Dr. Wen.

Lin Jiaojiao was a rare ability user that could produce barriers. With a ratio of 1:10,000 among ability users, that is how rare a barrier ability user is.

Dr. Wen did not want to pass out on the opportunity so he also did not let Lin Jiaojiao come out unscathed and thoroughly used her body like guinea pig to further his research.

When Lin Fang found out, he raged like a wild animal and injured Dr. Wen and a few people on the process before fleeing from the base.

Lilian Mo went to look for him but ended up with nothing.

Two years later, he came back as a half-mutant who was able to control fellow mutants that were lower level compared to him.

Lin Fang ruthlessly destroyed the base. At that time, Lilian Mo helped him but he alsp tried to reason with him to spare the innocents.

To her utter surprise, he did not remember her and became a crazed person whose only goal was to exact revenge.

Eventually, the half-mutant Lin Fang and his mutant horde attracted Lu Jingren's group, who immediately rushed to kill them before they could terrorize other bases.
