Just a suggestion/idea with my opinion and thoughts mixed in It's kinda of a " D I C K move " by the people doing it but having the MC "set up" to form attachments does have lots of story elements to use and don't really need a lot of work from the author to get the ball rolling

You can also do the cliche thing in the future, where he finds out she was just doing her job (but actually fell for him) and then breakup and new and actual love interest (Wanda since chaos magic and all) or not, - - - your choice
