Warning: GORE

Memories flooded into his head, it almost took an hour before he finally regained his senses. Clutching at the edges of the coffin, Qiao Chen finally lifted his body.

Coldness crept into his skin, freezing his pores, but the sweats on his forehead was a huge contrast to what he feels. Gritting his teeth and establishing himself properly, he finally looked at the surrounding.

Familiar yet unfamiliar places, indescribable hunger and an intense thirst for something he doesn't know. The green-eyed youth laughed hysterically.

Qiao Chen, no, Lie Yuan remembered all.

Waking up with an aching head, Charlotte groaned. She looked around and almost fainted again when she saw many corpses on hanging on the side. The intolerable smell penetrated her nose, and the dark red stains almost blinded her eyes. She tried to move her hands, but she noticed that he cannot move at all. That's when she realized that she was tied up like the rest of the corpse. This realization made her fear for her life. Tears started to pool down on her cheeks as she tried to struggle against the rope.

She recalls that she just wanted to find their captain, but then a huge force hit her which made her lost her consciousness. It was unknown to her what made her fainted, which truly terrified the shit out of her.

"H-Help me!"

She started screaming, hoping that maybe someone could hear her and help her. With her in a difficult position, her screaming went louder and louder. Calling all her companion's name one by one.

After a while, the door from behind was push opened. She couldn't look at her back, and she had no idea who the person opened that door.

"H-Hey! Can you help me? Someone knocked me out, and they tied me like this!" She started speaking hysterically.

There were no movements on her back. Only the howling of the wind replied to her pleads, on this dark place, her heartbeat was now louder than her voice.

She started to feel nervous, "I am a member of special force, and we had a mission in this hospital. If you could help me, I will tell the captain what you have done and b-believe me, the base won't treat you harshly!" Perhaps the one behind her was a regular survivor, so she started seducing them for the benefits.

"Are you really going to help me?"

Charlotte was surprised. She doesn't expect that the expected savior had this kind of youthful voice. It was elegant and soothing, like the flowing waterfalls in the highest mountain. The pitch was mixed with a cold wind and a cool breeze.

How can such voice exist?

She pulled all her courage and speak all the advantages, "I am Charlotte and the acting doctor of the squad. You helping me will gain you many benefits, hurry before that monster come back!"

However, there were no heavy steps, only a precise and rehearsed pace. She started to get impatient, but when a flawless white hands appeared on her front, she went silent. That well-defined joints apparently was the most beautiful jade that she had seen in the apocalypse. That hands that was even more beautiful than her was definitely the highest quality in this catastrophe.

In the world where hands were nurtured by experiences and armored with calluses, how can such gorgeous hands appeared?

Doubts flashed through her mind, but then again, this is her savior. If it were in the past, she would instantly fill with envy, but she grew matured and learned to less care about her appearance.

After she was released, she immediately fell down and tried to fix her composure. She looked up and saw a young man, probably in his juvenile age, seventeen, or eighteen. As much as she was dazed by his hands and voice, as much as she was disappointed by his appearance.

How can a beautiful hand be owned by this ugly creature?

His face was quietly terrifying, even more terrifying than the zombies she usually faces. There was a huge scar on his eyes down to his cheeks and a burnt mark from his other cheeks. I don't know how did he end up with this, but then again, he is her savior. She couldn't just discriminate him.

"Are you okay?" Aware of her disgusted face, the youth asked awkwardly.

Charlotte pushed his hands that were about to help her up and stood up by herself. She looked at him again and sneered, "Thank you, I owe you one."

The youth smiled foolishly, "No problem."

"By the way, how come you end up here?"

"Ah, my teammates and I were chased by the zombies that come out from nowhere and I end up separating from them."

"Teammates? What base do you belong?" Charlotte shot up her eyebrow. As far as she remembers, they were the only teem that was assigned to this mission.

"Ah no, we don't belong to any base, we were from a small camp for survivor."

Charlotte nodded and did not bother to ask anymore. Establishing small camp wasn't strange anymore. To enter a base, no useless or cripple person were allowed. The upper ups already abandoned their conscience and froze their sympathy, they don't mercy elderly and children. Only if useful individual could enter the base. That's why some kind people who have enough strength decided to established a camp to shelter some elders, children, and cripple people. Charlotte doesn't think it was necessary, by the way. Kindness won't function in this world anymore, but she does know how to return favors.

She looked at this ugly youth and swallowed her disgust, "I'm Charlotte, what's your name?"

It is unclear to me why did the young man smiled but as he smiles, a spark of light flooded on his green eyes. Wait, does he have green eyes? Charlotte does not know why did she think that his eyes were pretty. Unlike his face, his eyes were obviously pretty.

"Lie Yuan."
