It's very neatly written, with a simple explanation about world coming almost effortlessly from the dialogue. The scenario is at once the same, and not as that of the fairly tale, that makes it all the more interesting.
It must be said - This is interstellar. I love interstellar to bits, so it's easy for me to read, understand, and empathize.
However, the story progresses well enough that even non-interstellar fans can read it okay.
