Surprised again and again

Lizzy walked deeper into the rat cave, the putrid smells of burnt rat and feces emanated within the long tunnel, as she walked further into the dark cave she started to hear the squeaking noises of dying rats as if they were crying.

The dark flames still blazing all over the place and Lizzy made sure to not touch them and walked on spots that the flames haven't touched that also encompasses the walls and the ceiling of the cave, she saw a few rats still writhing in pain as she went deeper and deeper but she just left them alone to die on their own because she was more invested in her task.

"Wow this tunnel goes deep, it's only been a week since the world updated and they already have such extensive pathways"

Lizzy couldn't help but be awe'd by the efficiency of these rodents, she then noticed a change on the detailing of the walls upon reaching a certain point deep inside the cave, the walls began to take the shape of stacked bricks and the path on the floor, albeit covered in blazing abyssal fire, was smooth similar to human homes but still made of soil.

Lizzy proceeded with her exploring and reached a place that screamed boss fight, it was an empty space with a burning throne in the middle, surrounding the throne were 12, 2 meter tall burning rats they were armed with spears and shields made of stone and even wore leather armor fashioned with unknown materials, rat skulls were on their shoulders, it seems that those rats skulls were either from opposing rat tribes or traitors within their tribe.

She was crawling on the ceiling whilst observing the situation and happened to notice that only the top of the throne was burning, the 12 rats had formed a shield wall as if protecting something, Lizzy decided to scan them for their combat efficacy.

"Okay if I remember correctly that's just it's physical strength and doesn't count intellectual strategies, damn these rats are strong!" Lizzy thought to herself without even thinking of how she will grow stronger and was already stronger than them.

"but where's the king?"

Lizzy observed the room and found another opening right behind the throne that the rat knights were protecting it led underground, she slowly crawled on the ceiling and was about to release her hold on it and drop towards the hole entrance when suddenly, three of the six rat knights that were part of the twelve man phalanx moved and moved away from the rest of their deceased comrades, the three threw aside their shields which was burning and saw it turn to dust along with their allies.

This scene surprised Lizzy and stopped her from dropping down.

"It seems the fire that got here had already been weakened by the amount it burned and the distance it traveled, otherwise there's no way those three could've survived" Lizzy said in her head, she prepared to fire more of her abyssal flames towards the three rats and opened her mouth.

To Lizzy's surprise again, the rats turned their head and faced her direction, they then held their spears in one hand and easily tossed it towards her as if they were professional javelin throwers, she immediately ran backwards and even performed a zigzaggy motion to dodge the projectiles approaching her.

"Hey system aren't these guys too smart?!"

"Host they have mutated due to the genodes and gene strands that originated from the mid level fantasy world thus mutation and growth in intelligence is a given"

"I guess that does make sense"

Lizzy while questioning the system was charging up her abyssal and released once the spears had stuck to the soil of the ceiling, the flame breathe landed right in front of the three rat knights but only one was unlucky enough to get burned as the other two nimbly dodged to the sides and created some distance far from the flame ensuring their own survival.

The action surprised Lizzy again, she then, after recovering from her shocked state, used {Overpowering Intimidation lv.1} to try and paralyze them, the two rats felt intent and suddenly stopped as they felt their bodies growing stiff, she was happy that the intimidation actually worked on the knights and decided to eat the two remaining knights to atleast gain some bonuses from this mini venture.

She crawled down to the wall and hopped off on an area where the flames didn't reach, she then slowly made her way towards them, the already intimidated rats began to hear weird music again and even saw a weird purple glow coming from the weird lizard creature that approached them, at this moment the only thing that was in both of their minds was 'Isnt this just too flashy?!'
