A Helping Hand

"It's not very glamorous," Serenica said, kneeling in order to check the vitals of her patient. "Believe me, I have seen blood."

"I want honor, not glamor."

Serenica turned towards the woman. "Do you think healing has no honor?"

"I didn't mean it like that."

"How old are you? Twenty?"

"Nineteen years old, my lady."

"I told you to stop calling me that. Nineteen years, that honestly isn't much. You'll have plenty of time to learn about honor and how vain the notion is. Now you can go. I will make sure this fellow doesn't die on me. You've done well."

Serenica dealed with the boils by burning them. This required a lot of paw for the poor man and a lot of patience from her. The patient was not being very patient, though. He just had to take a little sting, he wouldn't feel much with the paw in his system, and fire was one way of getting rid of witchcraft.
