The Maple Mountains Move! A Sign Of The Great Beast Tide?

The closest town to Fenglin Village was the town of Sla, where caravans would regularly visit to conduct their business. Without cargo, a ride would take a day to go there and back. It would take about four to seven days to bring the goods there and sell them, so Lynn was worried about the safety of the goods.

The Divine Emperor's power was limited, and the land he controlled was far and wide. So, the northern region was managed by tribes who served under him. However, it was clear that the lack of managerial capacity of the nobles in the northern region led to a large number of bandits. Lynn sent one rank four half wolf, and four second rank werewolves with Buno. Although there were only five soldiers, any bandits encountered along the way would be as good as dead.

"The warriors will temporarily obey your orders," Lynn told Buno. "If you encounter any bandits, kill them. Leave none alive."

"Be careful with your orders, Lord Lynn," Buno said with a grim face.

Before he had left, Lynn gave him a list that said to buy bottles, grian, Archfiend meat, exiled civilians, and other necessary supplies. In this world, people could be bought and sold, but they would not be permanent slaves. It was usually a twenty year contract. After twenty years of hard work, one could decide to stay or be set free. Lynn was in desperate need of labourers and decided to buy slaves.

Buno understood what Lynn wanted, and soon after he set out with five carriages. Lynn went back into the mountains with the remaining twenty beast warriors. Lynn was searching for more Archfiends to eat. I have good luck today. In the evening, he found an Archfiend bird, and sent it to be hunted by his soldiers. With twenty warriors, it was a one sided massacre. All the while, Lynn was waiting at the foot of the mountain, free to move around.

As he went down the hill, Lynn suddenly felt a magical fluctuation on the mountain. There were a few things different about the two monsters Lynn had encountered so far. Lynn was on alert. Although it was a momentary feeling, Lynn was sure that there were powerful monsters around.

Back in his territory, Lynn found a carriage that did not belong to either him or Lucy stationed at the village entrance. A very old lady was standing near it, talking to Lucy. Lynn stepped forward and felt the magic of the old woman.

"This is the mother-in-law of Colin," Lucy hurriedly said. "She is the wind attribute wizard of the Frost Maple family. She is here to help explore the situation in the Maple Mountains."

"Hello, mother-in-law of Colin," Lynn said very politely. " I am Lynn, the lord of these mountains."

"I know you," she said. "You are the guy who took our favorite little princess."

Lynn smiled generously, with a calm air around him.

"I thought you were a broken nobleman like those ignorant nobles, but I was wrong. Lord Lynn, you have a strong fire magic within you. You will become a very powerful magician. Lucy's vision is very good," the lady said.

"May your blessing be granted upon me," Lynn said to express his gratitude.

"Well, do not say so. But can you send a few people to help protect me? I am going to the mountain to survey the area," Colin's mother-in-law said.

The magician's destructive power was amazing, but her body was fragile and usually required the protection of a knight. Lynn called five werewolves over, and the lady was left speechless.

"This is Colin's mother in law. You need to keep her safe and absolutely do not let anything happen to her," Lynn ordered.

"Yes, Lord," five warriors answered respectfully. The lady snapped back to her senses and exclaimed her surprise.

"Oh my God, you have your own army. Lord Lynn, look at these warriors. How powerful they are. Let those ignorant nobles see them and they will quake in their shoes."

Lynn smiled and did not brag and let the old lady ascend up the hill. Lynn should not have been there at the mountain since his life was more important than anyone else now that he was the Lord. Once the sun completely went down, the lady came back down the hill and found Lynn. She reported the situation with a grim face.

"I am afraid that this wave of beasts might be very difficult to deal with. There is a second class or higher ranked monster who will appear near the village. It may even launch an attack. I have to hurry back. I have to tell Lord Theresa to send someone to support you."

Lynn's face was subtle. He did not refuse, nor did he accept the help. He only expressed his gratitude. Colin's mother in law left at night. Lynn gave her a small bottle of red wine as a thank you. When she left, Lucy reassured Lynn.

"Do not be nervous. Theresa will help us."

"Will it really be that easy?" Lynn commented. "I am afraid no one will support us."

"How could Theresa not help us?!" Lucy asked incredulously.

Lynn shook his head and calmly analyzed.

"There is a certain thing that can help, but there will be someone who will try to oppose supporting us. We cannot count on the support of Frost Maple City."

"Who would dare! I will have Theresa kill the people who desire to kill you!" Lucy said furiously. Lynn patted her head and smiled confidently.

"Never rely on others. We have our own legions, so we will defend our territory ourselves! Let them see our strength!"
