My theory is that the assassin is a regressor, then he regressed to childhood of both him and Tianyi and yhey had bad blood in the future but they keep crossing paths in this timeline as well, then they met (auction) but he did not expect MC to still be advanced and superior in terms of power hence, "you're already a (power) realm!"

alright my theory is that in the original storyline(Mc doesnt exist) the dragon emperor actually absorbed xi tianyi's soul and occupies his body. Blah blah the dragon emperor had a conflict with the guy that looks like xi tianyi and the guy dies. Which then he regressed but to a timeline where the MC's soul occupies xi tianyi's body.
