2 Chapter 2 : From the ashes

Slowly the whole place incinerated in flames. Two days later when everything was destroyed, an emergency unit arrived at the location. On that very moment 19007 rose from the ashes, fully healed from all the bruises and scars. His body was fully healthy. He was in shock to see himself in such a good condition. He tried to search for the plant in the ashes but everything was destroyed. Suddenly he saw some members of the unit coming his way. He quickly ran towards a tree and took cover. All his clothes got burned in the flames. He ran towards a van and saw some half pants, he wore the pant. Suddenly a man yelled from behind, "hey! Who are you?" 19007 turned and saw the man. He started running. The men followed him, but 19007 had more stamina and energy than normal human. Some of the men stopped but one guy still followed him. 19007 looked back and saw the guy still following him. Suddenly he fell near a river. 19007 quickly hid behind a big rock. The guy looked around and didn't find 19007 so he went back. 19007 was in pain, he saw his wrist broken. But in few seconds his wrist fully healed and the bone reattached. He was stunned. 19007 walked for miles and after few days he reached a village. The village belonged to few Muslim and Punjabi families. 19007 took shelter in a Punjabi family. He helped them in small household chores and they gave him food and shelter. There was a Muslim family lived near that home. A girl lived in that Muslim family named Zafina. She was 19 y/o. She was beautiful, innocent girl. She mostly spent her time at home helping her mother. Her father was the head of the village. He was waiting for her to turn 20, so that he could find a Muslim boy to marry her. While living in the Punjabi family, 19007 met Dalijit, a Punjabi boy. They became somewhat friends. They helped each other at work. One day, Daljit and 19007 were walking by a street and saw few Hindu extremists trying to burn a mosque. Both of them went there and saw some Muslim people defending the place. Almost all the Muslim villagers gathered there. But one of the extremists has a gun so the villagers were scared. 19007 quickly grabbed the gun and disarmed the extremist. Everyone was stunned and scared. 19007 aimed the gun at the extremists and said, "No one is burning anything today, is this what your leaders teach you?! To burn places and kill others, huh?! You religious fools better get out of here before I snap!" The extremists stepped back and ran away. The Muslim people thanked 19007 and called him a brave man. 19007 handed over the gun to Zafina's father. There he saw Zafina, she was impressed by what 19007 did. Later, they also became friends. Zafina used to spend time with 19007. She told him that she wanted to be a chef but her father wanted her to get married. 19007 was upset to hear that. He didn't told her about his past. One afternoon he was standing on roof and at an old poster of religious unity. He saw Zafina's mother cooking food and Zafina was bringing it to her father. Suddenly while bringing a hot container of food. She accidentally dropped it. Her father yelled at her and called her useless. Zafina was standing ashamed, her mother sent her inside. 19007 was upset to see that. Later he again went to the roof and saw Zafina standing there. She was holding her finger. He went to her and saw her finger was a little burned by that container. 19007 had some ice wrapped in a piece of cloth. He put the ice oh her finger and said, "it wasn't your fault." Zafina cried and hugged him. 19007 embraced her and said, "its alright." Their friendship got deeper. One day they were walking in a farm and talking. 19007 told Zafina about his past, but Zafina found that hard to believe because he didn't have a single scratch on him. Then, 19007 showed her his healing ability. She was shocked. "Will you still be with me?" He asked. Zafina smiled and said, "forever." Suddenly her father yelled, "Zafina! Go home and help your mother!" She said bye and ran from there. Her father came to 19007 and said, "look son, I appreciate your help, everyone does. You saved our holy place. But, I can't let my daughter be with you. She'll only marry the guy of my choice." 19007 was sad and nodded his head. He suddenly saw Zafina peeking from a tree with sad eyes. 19007 didn't meet her since that day. He got involved into making peace between the people. He created a group with Daljit and some other people and named it 'The Peacemakers'. They taught the people not to fight among each other. The village was at peace. Many extremists tried to kill 19007 but, they all got slaughtered by him. But no one knew about his mutation except Zafina. He tried his best to forget about her but he failed. On the other side Zafina also missed him. 19007 convinced almost everyone in the village to stop fighting in the name of religion. But one of the Kazim's men saw him. He was shocked to see 19007 alive. He immediately reported to Kazim. But Kazim didn't believe him, "Are you out of your mind?! No one could have survived that fire!" Kazim yelled. But he was shocked to hear that many people have spotted him and even the members of the emergency unit also saw a boy in that area. Kazim ordered his men to investigate the village and if they find any trace of 19007 then destroy the village. Here, 19007 was sitting under a tree and worrying about his sister. Suddenly, someone came up behind him. He quickly turned and saw Zafina standing with a small yellow flower in her hand. He stood up and said, "you, here?" Zafina looked down and said, "I heard that you're going away from here, so I came to say goodbye and.... Give this flower to you, this is all I can give." 19007 took the flower and chuckled. Zafina said, "Don't expect me to come and say goodbye when you leave me alone here." 19007 put the flower behind her ear and said, "this flower belongs here. You're so beautiful, Zafina." She smiled with shyness. But suddenly, they heard gunshot sounds from the village.
