Ruined Prayers

BANG!! BANG!!

The loud blast came twice almost at the same time, making the entire hall experience a surprise. Some of them expected colorful sparks in the sky. Some of them wondered why the firework show started before midnight.

"W-what is that?!"

A high-pitched voice filled the air after the blasts when one of the servants exclaimed in dread as she saw red droplets splattered onto the floor, making the once beautiful manor ruined by the gore of crimson. The scenery soon could be seen by everyone in the hall.

The lively atmosphere turned into awful suspense within a split second. Some people in the crowd stepped back, some even ducked down covering their heads after noticing the loud sounds were gunshots instead of fireworks.
