Just realised the fact that this chapter is all about change and starting now im going back and changing certain parts of the story and leaving notes on what's changing... A lot of change happening folks lmao.
Ok, this is just became another hero story. Seriously even if he can't ignore his would be "regret". Why would he want to get close to harry, his initial plan to help from the shadow is much more believable and align with his 'selfish' desire. His plan to insert himself in Harry's life just feel so he can be viewed as hero and worshipped. This turn of event really left a bad taste
Feel the need to explain in more detail what I was going for with this chapter and the changes within Oz: So in this chapter you see Oz's mindset change, wanting to now step in and change the canon. This change occurs solely as he see's the cruel reality of muggleborns suffering, noticing that not everything is centred around the events of the story and that there is a bigger world out there with suffering everyday. Oz's motive for changing the canon is purely self-drive and selfish. From the outside looking in, a lot of people will see him now as a hero as he's going to stop bad events from occurring. However, Oz himself knows that his reason for stepping in is actually selfish as he just doesn't want to feel regret for not doing anything after the original canon finishes (Especially considering he has the knowledge AND power to do something). Such a weight would eat at him later on in life and the regret could kill him. So the chapter title "No Hero" is an ironic statement. Some will see him as a hero for stepping in and stopping events before they occur but Oz himself doesn't believe he's a hero as he only now decided to step in purely because of selfish motives. If Oz was a hero, he would have apprehended those dark wizards and turned them in but he killed them. If Oz cared for the canon and characters before he would have rushed to privet drive to bail harry out. The reason I put the "Deep-Thinking" tag on this story was precisely for chapters like this, where dependant on how you view life and how deeply you read into things you can have your own personal takes on Oz's personality now. After all while I have my own ideas and takes the readers should too, even if they differ from mine a lot. Thats what in my eyes makes a unique experience in a story. - Thanks for coming to my TED talk :).
