Honestly speaking... This is bullshit, people (especially the nobles) would know about magical cores and would have done deep studies on them. Dark families would have rituals/spells to use on their children to increace their power. You think people wouldnt do horrible shit for power? People would expiriment on children with no remorse just so their heirs would get a tiny bit of power. The whole "oh yea Im training my magical core when Im a baby so Im gonna be so op and noone will be able to touch me exept dumbles and voldy because dumbles is a very smart old man and voldy is the only wizard that does horrible shit to get power" in a world with magical cores the muggleborns would never cach up to purebloods/halfbloods in terms of power. If you wanted to make the mc op you should have had him pick a better ability then perfect memory.

isn't control more important here? most spells are very subtle and if he just expands his core, his control should go to wack. so maybe add that later on?

What is a Todo list for if he can remember it perfectly

Thanks for replying and i agree with you that for a quick and dirty HP fan fic the core thing is easier to show the mcs progress but the feeling of HP was always one of mistery and the misteryous magic system where you can chanel energy ad infinitum but the body pays the price in fatigue was always a big part of that for me have cultivation elements simply no place there when it isnt a crossover

whats always with the cores why can some dude who has never done anything with his magic find his core like in a second and harry and co talk no single word about it, in canon the origin of magic is simply unknown and it doesent make the story bad who even started the crap with the cores in harry potter why must evry fucking fanfic be about cultivation and being uber why cant the mc use his brain to win and not overwhelming power.

philosophers stone is actually has something to do with the theory of making a magic core. and the making of magic core is the making of bloodline heritage and talent descent/diffusion like parseltongue, it's basically different from a physical bloodline but related. so muggle born and half bloods are in a way more pure blood than pure bloods. Bloodline curses and blessings are mostly spiritual, if it isn't then it would be an accident or deformation. wizard heritage bloodline is in the line of blessings. luck and karma can always affect heritage

hmm I hope hes actually op. seems a bit slow for his status and memory. however I will say his magic should be pretty high by the time he's at hogwarts the other things he can only do if he gets his hands on books so I'm okay with that. money well stealing from gangs and then investing in stocks, after that he needs to do an inheritance test at gringots. glad he's not joining the trio and he should be a quite in the library type I guess. he'll probably be better of going to the RoR instead though then he can practice magic and find books. wont look weird to others when he's skimming through

I have a serious question here why is every so butthurt cause the the mc way of using magic or his Merlin “bloodline”? I mean we loved hp who was literally the heir to multiple houses with some of the biggest plot armor and any book I’ve ever read, he guy literally killed one of the most powerful wizards in his decade when his everything about him was leagues below his, add that hp has the most vague concept of magic ever (apparently dumbles had more magic than almost everyone but they never specified how much he had or other people had, no explanation about how their magic grew, didn’t say whether or not some wizard families used rituals to something increase their magic) but yet everyone here getting mad about a ff created by someone because he isn’t following this vague concept tf is wrong with people.. if the story is good read it, if it’s not move tf on…people on this website are the most self opinionated people I’ve ever seen that they apparently want the author to make their creation according to what they perceive as correct 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️💯

Harry Potter magic system is a soft one, meaning there is no specific rules that restrict this power, we have litteraly a curse that can kill instantly (avada cadavra) and that's, in my point of view, one of the reasons that make the story so magical, because there are endless possibilities for every person that use magic
