67. Chaotic Emotions

RuQian flitted towards the meeting room with Bai Xing close on her heels. Director Tan woke up from his stupor and followed her as she entered the room. He stopped short, confused as to how the young miss knew where the contract signing would take place. He hadn't showed her the way, how did she know?

This was not the place where the previous meeting had taken place. That was a conference room where formal meetings were held, where directors and executives would be present, this was an informal meeting room. He followed swiftly seeing that she had already entered.

Their company lawyer and his assistants were present, none of them knew her real identity but it was just a contract signing anyway. After taking a look at the contract RuQian could see she was getting many benefits for a first time, unknown model. The contract was splendid actually but she had one request and it was that she would sign with her own choice of studio for the shoot. Director Tan did not look like he wanted to agree to her request.

RuQian understood why he was being cautious. They couldn't really trust an unknown studio with their technology and for that studio to keep the tech a proper secret before it's release. The other thing they would be worried about would be, the company would have signed a contract with other studios which they usually used for the shoots with other models.

So if they suddenly changed studios they could encounter trouble with the studio they were currently using. RuQian would be endorsing the tech that was currently still under testing. Normally she wouldn't have known the progress of the tech but she was the granddaughter, who had been reborn. This was the tech that helped their company tremendously in her previous life. It was a new model of laptop and tablet, which would create sensations in the tech world. But there was still time for it's release.

RuQian negotiated with Director Tan, the lawyer didn't want to accept but Director Tan knew RuQian wouldn't make losses for her own grandfather's company. "Director Tan, this endorsement would be the start of my career, you don't think I would jeopardize that, would you? And moreover, did you forget the pictures which you saw before?" RuQian questioned him coolly.

Indeed those pictures were the best he had ever seen. And it was also true that if the shoot went bad, the young miss's career was the one which would be spoiled. Their company wouldn't really suffer many losses. The lawyer shut up after he thought of this too.

They revised the contract and the signing was done quickly. It did not take too long. "Welcome to the company, youn... uh.. Miss RuQian." Director Tan struck out his hand. He faltered for a bit but he wasn't that bad. He had learned from Bai Xing to call her RuQian.

The lawyers shook hands and the company lawyer shook hands with RuQian too. The lawyer or the assistant had never seen this model but she was very beautiful so they did not care much. Everyone left the room happily.

Director Tan silently whispered to RuQian while the lawyers and the walked in the front, "Young Miss, the chairman asked you to visit him in his cabin after you are done here. Let me take you, you would need an executive card to enter the elevator."

"Oh, he wants me to visit? I can go by myself." RuQian turned towards the executive elevator and swiped her card to access it. She turned around, the chatter between the assistant and lawyer stopped. "Mr Bai, please follow me. I have something to discuss with you." She entered the elevator with Bai Xing in her tow.

Director Tan never expected RuQian to have the executive card even if she was the chairman's granddaughter. Those executive cards could access some very private information of the company. He could understand what the other two were thinking about when the elevator stopped on the highest floor. Even though RuQian was very young, she didn't look so in the way she dressed or carried herself.

So if anyone saw her they would assume her to be a woman in her early twenties and the fact that their chairman was just in his fifties, nobody would assume them to have a grandparent- granddaughter relationship.

When RuQian and Bai Xing exited on the top floor, they first came across the executive secretaries desks. At once everybody lifted their heads to look at the newcomers with questioning gazes. RuQian's eyes became dazed once again as she looked at the faces, some unknown, some different from her memories. A few faces made her eyes misty. There were a few young secretaries and a few middle aged ones who had followed her after she took over the company.

They had loved her like family. She had spent most of her time here in her later life, so it wasn't far-fetched to call these ladies her family. They had faced many ups and downs together. They loved her for so long, they had taken care of her health when she herself failed to do so. How could she be so selfish to have forgotten all about them? But they did not even know her now. She wanted to go up to them and hug them, alas she couldn't even do that.

Ren Wei interrupted her thoughts, "Miss, the Chairman is waiting for you." He knew not to call her young miss until her identity was revealed.

RuQian swallowed the knot in her throat and tried to tamp down her chaotic emotions. She greeted Ren Wei and introduced Bai Xing to him. "Mr Ren Wei, I remember you had an acquaintance in Z&K didn't you?"

Ren Wei didn't know if he wanted to laugh or cry. 'Young Miss, don't you have the ultimate acquaintance in the top boutique store? Why are you asking me?' "Yes miss, I do."

"Hmm, please ask for an interview opportunity for someone in the administration. They can interview him but tell them not to base him on his resume, but on his skills. Okay?" The other secretaries were now staring at RuQian as if she were crazy. Her words were meant to be taken as a request but her attitude clearly showed she was ordering Ren Wei.

Even the top executives or even the shareholders never dared to speak in this manner to Ren Wei. When they had to request something of him, they had to almost beg him to do their bids and even then he would only respond to the reasonable ones. What this woman requested, no ordered of him was definitely very unreasonable. All of them were waiting for Ren Wei to explode with rage.

But they were shocked with what happened next, "Yes miss. I would need the information of the person and a copy of that person's resume to send to them." Ren Wei was even polite with the woman. "You can take the details from my lawyer. Remind them carefully not to judge him based on his resume, this is very important." RuQian left without looking back. "Yes miss. Please follow me Mr Bai." Ren Wei then sent a glare to the gawking employees, who turned back to their work.

Ren Wei sighed, actually it would have been very easy if young miss was the one who made the call but she wanted to stay as far away from Zhu Kang Li as she could. He was the owner of Z&K boutique stores. ZK was from a rich family, which was on par with the Zhang family but he wanted to pursue the fashion industry instead of joining the military like the others in his family.

So when he was pressured to join, he ran away from home. While hiding from his family, he had seen a young RuQian with her mother and had become inspired to design clothes and accessories for her.

He did not have the capital for this, so he shamelessly approached the chairman for investment. The chairman had liked his designs and had provided him with the material but only for his granddaughter. ZK was not allowed to style or design clothes for anyone else to which he agreed readily. He kept saying RuQian was his muse and that he only had the inspiration to design for her.

After a few years the chairman opened a store for him to sell his designs to others. ZK quickly improved by leaps and bounds. He even participated in international shows and became famous. To this day RuQian had been his muse for most of his designs. In fact she had a separate line under ZK's personal designs which were for her. Of course she never wore them and they never saw the light of the day.

ZK had said that those clothes were only for her and for no one else. Even till date, every time he designed something new, he would send it over to the Zhang mansion. But RuQian mostly didn't like these clothes, if it was the previous her she would've loved that style. Even in her previous life she had never worn those clothes out of stubbornness and anger towards that man. ZK had watched her grow up and was very protective of her. This was what irked RuQian, he treated her like a kid, even after she had grown up.

Since his family did not like him owning a fashion store, he started off by hiding his identity and portraying himself and dressing up as a female. Later his family did accept him after the occurrence of a few incidents but since most of the world thought of the owner of Z&K as a woman, he did not want to change this.

He had many advantages, his store had a mysterious side to it and his privacy was guaranteed.

In her previous life, the clothes she wore were bland, she had stopped looking after herself. So she never made up with ZK. He loved her like a brother would but she had behaved like an idiot. She was thinking of reconnecting with him after she came back from abroad. It would be easier to explain her changes then.

Thankfully her grandfather had not questioned her sudden change. He thought she found out about Su Ting and had changed but this would not be enough for her to reconnect with her Kang ge.
