Chapter 267: THERE'S MORE

Zeharah and Martha then continued-

Leading the monsters to the hole.

Those with wings were quickly injured-

So they would remain in the hollowed walls.

Martha then breathed heavily,

Nervous of what would be left to do.

But nonetheless, she continued on,

Quickly opening the book.

Her fingers shook by the turn of each page,

Glowing more vividly with each finished passage.

She felt absorbed into the work that she haven't noticed,

A monster had decieved them by hiding it's strength.

It jumped too quick, too sudden for the both to react,

And with no difficulty, the book has been snatched.

Its long legs then hopped back down,

Making Martha instinctively follow it,

despite knowing the monsters, would chew her out.

Zeharah panicked at the sudden turn of events,

And tried to hit the monster with her rays.

But another monster took the hit,

Burying Martha, further deeper into the pit.

When she tried to look for solutions,

She remembered the sentient orbs.

But before she could even ask a word,

They were gone,

making her worry more.

And when she thought nothing could go more wrong,

The walls began to break and fall.

The monsters were going thrice ballistic,

Eager to have Martha and the book for themselves.

...

Martha opened her eyes,

Shocked to see she was still alive.

She then heard the orbs' voices,

Which were melancholic, as they say their goodbyes.

They provided her with a glow,

And she soon realized the sacrifice of the orbs.

Martha was safe, inside a see-through cube,

Where she, could freely move.

More so, in her feet was the severed hand of the previous attacker,

And the book, which was placed no little further.

She quickly grabbed it, but the book won't glow,

And then she realized, it's because she's inside the safety of the walls.

She could see the monsters outside trying to bite their way in,

Which quickly gave the lone woman fear.

The cube was not too big after all, so their faces crowding and forcing their way inside,

Was a horrifying thing, she'd forever have in mind.

She then thought of a way to carry out her plan somehow,

And then felt something hot below.

She soon looked down and saw the soil glow,

And tempted to find out,

she began digging the soil.

Her hands tirelessly searched,

And for a moment, she forgot the screaming monsters.

She gulped down, trying to moisten her throat,

Which had dried, for doing a lot of work.

She felt her sweat pour down her forehead,

As her nails ache, on the verge of breaking.

She didn't stopped however, until she saw a metal object,

Which she pulled relentlessly, no matter the pain its causing.

Soon, she was shocked to find out what it was,

A huge, and ancient looking scythe.

It had writings all around its handle which she couldn't understand,

But determined to save the slaves,

She practiced on swinging it, tightening her grip as she stands.

She swayed the thing left and right,

Surprised that it felt quite light.

More so, everytime she swung for the third time,

The sycthe would glow so bright.

She then noticed how the monsters would close their eyes,

As they scream in pain at such blinding sight.

They then bend down as the debris fall on their backs,

And somehow, that little revelations was deemed enough.

After devising a plan,

She breathed heavily, and have the book tied.

She quickly destroyed the cube she was kept,

And made sure the sycthe would glow quicker than the monsters could compare.

With the sycthe and her swift movements,

She was able to manipulate-

The monsters into finding the surface,

Where Zeharah was busy, digging the soil she was in.

Her tears suddenly dried upon seeing the woman,

But widened when she saw the scythe.

Before she could utter how much she missed the company of Martha however,

A monster caught her leg from behind.

She quickly kicks the monster's head,

As she told Martha to fly to the air.

Zeharah then tried to remove all the ruins,

Making sure that the monsters all reached the surface.

With haste, Martha again, read the passage,

And the book glowed once more.

This time, the words came out of the pages,

And in a blink, the monsters were no more.

Several women fell to their knees,

Shivering on their bare skin.

Zeharah quickly helped them out of the ruined zone,

As Martha could only cry out of joy.

The ladies looked at them with confusion,

Not able to remember what had occured.

But nonetheless they smiled as they felt better,

No longer held, by their previous master.

But Zeharah's happiness was soon wiped away,

After feeling the dread, of her fellow angels.

She then looked at Martha, and told her to protect them,

As she fulfills her duty,

no matter the challenge.

Relief was washed in Martha's expression,

Remembering that the war is far from over.

She looked at the women, wounded and bare,

And ought to protect them,

the entirety-all the way.

Zeharah hugs the woman and tells her to be strong,

As the war could endure for long.

She then flies away and took one last glance at her brother,

Hoping that no demon would try to bother.

"Zeharah! I hope you well!"

Martha shouted, as Zeharah's heart fell.

She smiled and felt even more determined,

To save the rest of humanity, from the impending evil.

...

Asmodeus felt himself fainting at the lack of strength,

Since the king of serpents was far too strong to take.

Lluming however, quickly shouted his name,

And upon seeing Sellena's tears,

felt quite ashamed.

"Ah, don't you cry princess,

And don't you look at my face.

Because right now,

You won't like the form I would take."

Asmodeus tells Sellena,

And when he was sure she turned away,

Proceeded to take the form he most dreads,

Something that personifies his deepest evil.

He felt his eyes turn back to red,

Angry and hungry for revenge.

His black claws then grew back,

tensing and flexing with rage.

His tail taps the floor which cracked,

Hinting the serpent to fall back.

At the same time, his back hunched over,

With his legs morphed to hooves,

Tapping the floor with more strength than before.

He filled the tower with laughters,

Laughters that could only be described as sinister.

And in the light of the moon was revealed,

A huge and hideous monster,

with one thing to fill-

which was

Its lust for revenge and chaos,

Something, Sellena did not want to take sight of.

His wings then spread wide,

Adorned with sharp teeth and eyes.

It emitted a dangerous aura of evil,

Enough for the angel to deeply think.

And as the angel ponder at the form,

Asmodeus stepped forth.

His teeth flashed at the serpent,

As his growls turned animalistic.

Even Lluming shivered at the sight,

"So this is...the true demon of lust,

But why isn't the serpent falling back?"

His body suddenly shivered,

As chill went down his spine.

He quickly gulped down and prayed,

that Asmodeus could handle the serpent just fine.
