Chapter 7

Still Nico's pov

During the 7's trip to collect Percy, Jason IM me saying they had found a girl that knew Percy super well and seemed to either be clear sighted or a demigod. "What's her name?" I asked, scared for the answer. "Emma." he said. I must have looked shocked because he said "Um Nico whats wrong?" "Nothing." I said, "I have to go." With that i swiped my hand through the mist and shadow traveled to my father's palace. I appeared in the throne room and immediately my dad knew something was wrong. "Son, what's wrong?" He asked "They found her." I said. "They're bringing her to CHB." "That's good." my dad said. "Now you must make sure she stays on our side." "Don't worry she's apparently best friends with Percy." I said. "Ok then." He said, "Remember you are not to tell anyone about this." "I know dad." I said. A few days later I was walking down the beach when I saw the Argo2 slowing down and coming towards the beach. I looked closer and saw a girl come out from below deck, I then looked around and saw the 7 huddled nearby. I shadow traveled behind the newbie and said, "So you're the newbie." She shrieked and whipped around punching me in the jaw. It hurt a lot. This girl has a really strong punch."Ouch." I said, "You have a strong punch almost as strong as Percy's." By now the 7 were walking over to us. Piper and Jason helped me up. "Hey death breath." Percy said. "Why are you on the floor?" "She punched me,'' I said. "Em why did you punch him." Percy said turning to the new girl. I was right this is Emma. I thought "He sneaked up on me!! It's in instinct you of all people should know that, Perce." when he nodded she turned around to apologize but we were all looking at her, confused.. "What?" she asked. "Why should he of all people know that?" Leo asked. "Umm we have been like brother and sister since we were 6 so naturally he has tried to sneak up and scare me multiple times and each time he ended up with a huge bruise." she answered. "Yea remember two years ago when i showed up at camp in the beginning of summer and had a huge bruise on my jaw? Yea that wasn't a monster like i said that was her. I had tried to sneak up on her to say goodbye and tell her was going to camp but it didn't work." Percy said to them. she laughed, "HA it never works." by now the rest of the 7 and I's jaws were on the floor. They started talking and we were all shocked by the things they were saying. Like since when does Percy get beat in sword fighting by a girl who hasn't even trained before. Then Emma started laughing and fell over because she was laughing so hard. She pointed at us and said "LOOK….AT….. THEIR…..FACES….!!" Then Percy looked at us and also fell over laughing. Like what is so funny i get our faces might be a little funny but THIS!!!? Once they had calmed down the bothe looked at us. "Sorry," Percy said, "Your faces just brought back a memory from when we were 12." "It-Its fine." Annabeth said. "So anyways who's the goth kid." Emma said. I thought for a second then realized she was talking about me. I was about to introduce myself when Hazel beat me to it. "Emma this is Nico or death breath. He doesn't trust very easily so I advise you don't call him death breath yet." she said. "No its fine she can call death breath." I said. The 7 looked at me with shock written all over their faces. I was about to laugh when Emma randomly stumbled then she fainted.

Emma's pov

No no no not again not now!! I fought the darkness but it wouldn't go away this time.

Emma was 11and it was the day before her birthday she had wandered into the forest alone at night. Everyone had warned her about the dangers in the forest but she didn't believe them but by the end of the night she wished she had. Emma had had a fight with Percy, and Emily wasn't there so she ran into the woods forgetting she wasn't allowed in. When the tears had finally stopped and she had a cramp from running for so long she finally looked up and realized she had no idea where she was. She was lost. She spun in a circle a couple times to see if she could figure out which direction the castle was but she couldn't so she tried to climb a tree. She started to climb and was almost to the top when a bird flew straight into her. The bird had knocked her off balance and sent her flying back down to the ground. On the way down her head hit a tree branch and she started to get a migraine. She would have stayed conscious if she had not hit her head on the ground when she landed. As everything went dark she heard a voice and footsteps. As her eyes closed she heard a voice whisper something and she felt strong hands pick her up. Finally everything went black. When she woke up she was in a cage. She didn't know how long she had been asleep nor where she was. All she knew was that she wanted to go home. Just then a woman walked into the cage. She was beautiful. She had black hair that went down just under her shoulders, she was tall, graceful, and looked around 18, but by looking into her eyes she was someone who had seen too much and was going insane. " Oh goody you're up!" she said cheerfully. "My name is Nyx." Emma just stared back at her. "Not gonna say hello? Pity." Then a man walked in. He was huge. He had like a 10 pack and huge muscles. Imagine the strongest man in the world, a bull, and a dragon. That was how strong he was. When he walked in he was holding something that reminded her slightly of a whip. "Where am i." Emma asked. "Well you're in my house of course!" "What are you going to do to me?" She asked again. "Oh so full of questions aren't you dearie." she said, "Well you'll find out soon enough. Let's get down to business shall we? I'm going to ask a few questions and you're going to answer. Ok?" Nyx asked Emma just stared at her. "No? Ok then. Clytius would you be a dear and show her what happens when she doesn't answer or she lies? Clytius stepped forward and whipped her, but it wasn't a normal whip it had glass and rocks on the ends of these leather pieces. The glass and rocks weren't enough to permanently damage her but they still hurt a lot and a couple ended up giving her scars. This went on for days. Nyx asking the same question over and over again. "who is your mother!" Nyx yelled it was the 7th day she had been there but she didn't know what day it was. Everytime she would answer, "Lisa Baker!" and everytime Nyx would shout, "LIAR!" and whip her again. After 14 days of this cruel punishment Nyx walked into Emma's Cell. Nyx was happy to see Emma cower and cry. "You are being released but if you ever tell anyone what has happened here and who i am i will hunt you down and make you watch as i torture your friends and family to death. That was the last thing Emma heard before everything went black. When she woke up she was in the hospital with her mom crying by her side. She was in the hospital for a month. Everyone asked and begged Emma to tell them what had happened but she refused saying it was fine. Ever since then Emma would have flashbacks which caused her to black out. Usually if she had not sensed it and gone straight to her room she would be able to fight it. She called them blackouts.
