Page XXIII - Misunderstandings

It was a peaceful afternoon in the clubroom as Theodore was doing his own business reading his book, and Victoria playing the piano practicing for the upcoming welcoming festival of the year.

Victoria stopped playing and silence filled the room. She poured two cups of tea for the both of them and sat on the opposite side of where Theodore was sitting. "Are you sure its fine for you to skip classes?"

"I've already learned most of it. When I didn't come to school for a year or two, I just studied since I was ba-... I didn't have anything to do." Theodore replied.

"Why would you be out of school for one or two years..? Now that we're talking about questions... I just remembered, there was someone looking for you."

"Ray?" The first thing that came to his mind. "Don't mind him. I'm always escaping our dorm room since its noisy there."

"No, it was a woman. Apparently she's been looking for you and has been gathering information from the other students about you."

Theodore's eyes widened. "I'm sure that my past has been cleanly erased by my aunt and all the records of me having connection with the Payne family are gone. Its been several years since that happened so why are they going around snooping some information about that..? Did they know that I'm here? Of all the aunts and uncles that have came to their funeral, all they wanted was who's going to get the inheritance. But they just let it go after several years..." He thought to himself.

"Her name was... Anastasia Veilyn. She said that she owes you something."

"Anastasia... Veilyn?" Theodore was trying to remember what she looked like or what she is. He's rambling his mind around trying to figure it out. "I felt like I've heard that name before. But... I don't remember any Veilyn in my aunt's or uncle's family names. A fake name? Alias? Or something else? Either way its pretty dangerous going near this Anastasia."

"Theodore? You look like you're in deep thought." Victoria snapped Theodore back to reality.

"Sorry, I was just thinking other things. I'll go now." Theodore then left the room and thought to himself, "I need to discover who she is. Or else my promise with Isabelle will be broken." So he was about to go out.

"Anastasia Veilyn, Class 2-3." Victoria then said.

"Thanks." He went instantly to the direction of the class.

He began to run in the hallways and one of the school committee noticed him. "Hey! No running in the hallways!"

Theodore looked back and thought to himself, "Why is a school committee here..." He looked at the distance and saw a corner. He turned right and there's another corner in which he turned again to lose the school committee. "I won't let my peaceful high school days get ruined by another person. This is a promise that I've made with Isabelle. I won't let her down."

He went up the stairs but the school committee managed to follow him. "Ah! No running on stairs!"

"Tsk... annoying. I won't let him get to me." I grabbed a random person next to me and shoved her to my place and began to run away.

"Wha-!" He was pretty shocked seeing the woman suddenly being there, but he stopped in a blink of an eye and spun around to avoid the woman. "Hey!!! That's dangerous!"

"At this rate, if I go to her class, he'll just be there to interrupt." He then went into a random classroom and closed the door.

"Now for the theorem he-..." The teacher stopped her chalk and looked at him and the whole classroom followed and was looking at Theodore.

"Tsk... I don't care if I get a suspension. I need to know what that woman wants from me or I'll live a hellish life in this place."

The school committee then opened and barged through the door. "GOOD AFTERNOON!" Not even a single sweat after all that running. "I'm sorry Ms. Helen! Have you seen any student suddenly coming in here?"

"Uh... good afternoon Mr. Colt, do you mean... him?" The teacher then awkwardly pointed at Theodore hurriedly running out.

"AH! WAI-" He then looked at the classroom first, "Sorry for the trouble." He stepped outside slowly and closed the door, "HEY! WAIT!" And then began to shout as he chased for Theodore.

"Finally lost that guy." Theodore opened the door to the classroom 2-3.

Due to his luck, the bell rang and classes ended and Theodore began to scan the room. He couldn't remember anything about this woman.

"Why's this woman looking for me... come on... show yourself. I don't want this life given to me by Isabelle get ruined again..." He thought to himself.

He then inhaled and then asked the room, "Anastasia Veilyn, show yourself." Cold words came out of his mouth, enough to shiver the spines of those anyone who heard it.

Combined with his face that looked like emotionless, everyone could feel the anger behind it.

Anastasia raised her hand while hiding behind a bag. "H- here."

"I need to talk to you about something. Come out. And in private." A declaration from Theodore shook the classroom as he closed the door and waited for Anastasia to come out.

"Ana! Who was that hot guy!?" The girls in the classroom jumped on Anastasia trying to figure out who that guy was.

"W- well... I might've angered him for snooping around... I thought Victoria wouldn't tell him..." Anastasia's thoughts were just her thinking of how deep into trouble she got. She immediately stood up and the girls opened up a way for her.

She went out, her hands were shaking but her face was there, with a poker face, as if accepting her fate.

Theodore was waiting outside, crossed arms and looking taller than he ever was in her perspective. "Anastasia Veilyn... what do you need to know about me?" He menacingly asked.

"I-... I wanted to uh..." She was stumbling on her words. She was thinking to herself how creepy and how she looked like a stalker searching for information about Theodore in hopes of getting close to him.

"Wanted what?"

"T- to know more about you. I wanted to repay you somehow from... Back then."

"Back the-" Theodore then suddenly remembered the girl from the rooftop. He looked at her carefully, "She's that girl..?" He thought to himself. "So all that thing about..."

"Theodore?"
