I Have Become the Villain’s Daughter

At the end of July, summer had officially arrived in Hai City. The scorching weather felt like it could literally fry people alive.

In an alley not that far away, five or six desperate beggars were fighting over food scraps like scavengers over a carcass. A few of them even threw punches at each other in the process.

A little girl wearing the same, dirty clothes as these beggars watched while she leaned against the wall. In contrast to these folks, she was much less rowdy and much more well-mannered.

She had been staring blankly at them for a while now.

She didn't even care about the beads of sweat that were forming on her forehead because of the heat.

Sitting on the ground, Lu Li looked down at her dirty little lands with her large pair of dark expressionless eyes. Her long eyelashes drooped downwards as if they were feathers that belonged to a crow.

After a long while, she then slowly extended her left finger, which she used to poke her right palm.

She could feel the soft, meaty flesh, and the warm body temperature of a living breathing human.

It was warm…

Unlike the coldness of a fish…

Lu Li's dark eyes beamed with excitement as she closed her mouth with her hands as if she couldn't believe what had happened.

"Goodness! I-I… I have become daddy's daughter again!"

"My reincarnation is successful!"

'I'm no longer just a salted fish!!'

Lu Li's mother was the Matriarch of the Koi Clan. Ever since Lu Li was born, she was destined to be the princess of the Koi Clan.

Her luck was extraordinarily good.

However, a salted fish was just that, a fish. She wouldn't do anything as the days flew by. She did the only thing that she loved, which was sleeping on the back of her daddy, a Wolf King.

One day, when she looked for her Daddy in the Celestial World, he was nowhere to be found. Her mummy told her that daddy needed to go to another world to deal with something and that it would be a couple of years before he returns.

As daddy's little darling, Little Lu Li couldn't wait for that long. And when she heard that there might be danger in daddy's world, she could no longer sit around and do nothing!

Therefore, she looked at all the spells and forbidden arts that she could find behind her mummy's back that was related to reincarnation, which hopefully, would allow her to become her daddy, Lu Junhan's daughter once more.

However, every time she reincarnated she would become a fish. Literally! Every! Single! Time!

She had reincarnated almost 25 times, and not once was she able to turn into a human!

Lu Li was so frustrated that she almost cried.

She realized much later that her daddy had no wife in this world, and naturally wouldn't have any children. No wonder, she couldn't properly reincarnate as his daughter.

To make things worse, the only thing that her daddy was interested in was work.

He treated other women with contempt. That applied to children as well. He was seemingly dispassionate about romance, and all his words bore no warmth.

However, Lu Li didn't give up.

She waited for several years, and she finally got the chance!

Unfortunately, when she actually managed to reincarnate into a human and become her daddy's daughter by blood, Lu Li didn't have enough power left to even see her mother that gave birth to her.

Not only did she miss the chance to see her mother's face, the first few years that she was born she was the same as other babies. She was like a blank slate, and she wasn't very bright too.

It was only now that her powers were slowly returning to her and gradually, she began regaining her past memories.

When Lu Li remembered all the hardship and sorrow that she had to go through in order to achieve reincarnation, she couldn't help but slam her little fist on the ground.

The little girl quickly got on her feet and didn't even question why she was sent here. She didn't say anything as she ran out with her two short legs, out into the alley, anxious about what lied ahead in the outside world.

She needed to find her daddy, quickly.

She knew that this world belonged to a book. 

She had finished reading the entire book and her daddy was the biggest villain. The vilest, most evil villain that was cursed to die in the most horrendous death at the end of the story.

A lot of people despised him, so danger constantly lurked around every corner.

That was why.

She had to quickly go and protect her father!

It would be bad if her father was bullied.

The little girl had a ferocious expression, and the way she ran was quite imposing.

However, as soon as she headed out into the alley and the sun's merciless rays made her skin sting painfully. Lu Li immediately stumbled backwards as if she had been scalded by boiling hot water. 

Her imposing aura quickly shrunk from 1.8 meters to 1.4 meters…

'No, no. It's torture for a fish to be running around under the sun!'

Seeing that no one was paying any attention to her, Lu Li's eyes rolled as if she was planning something. Without a warning, she transformed into a bright red Koi fish. After flailing twice, she jumped into a nearby river.

Seven in the evening.

Lu Family Mansion.

The maids and the bodyguards were standing neatly in two rows at the front gate, waiting for their young master to return.

Whoosh!

After a short while, an extremely long, luxurious car drove by and passed through the giant iron gate that was decorated with intricate carvings. The vehicle finally rolled to a stop in front of them.

A team of butlers wearing uniforms quickly descended the stairs and opened the car door for him.

"Young Master Lu…"

The first thing they saw was a long leg wearing properly ironed pants. And then, a set of thin, pale but strong fingers that looked like a work of art.

Next came the handsome face that everybody in Hai City recognized.

The man got out of the car slowly, and his slender figure stood next to the car. His eyes scanned across their faces. The expression he wore was firm and stone-cold.

His eyes were deep and dark. Even though he was just standing there, there was a terrifying and daunting aura that radiated off of him. He was unfathomable like an emperor.

A single glance was more than enough for him to strike fear into their hearts. Quickly, they averted their gazes, not daring to make direct eye contact with him.

Throughout the entire process, everyone present held their breath as they lowered their heads in silence.

"Is the banquet hall ready?"

Lu Junhan stood on the spot as he slowly removed his sterile white gloves which he passed to the butler that approached him.

"We have completed the setup as per your orders," The butler said respectfully. "Now, we only need to release the newly acquired Koi Fish into the pond."

Not only was the Koi fish a mascot of Hai City, but it was also a symbol of good fortune.

It was common practice for the ruling elite to have a fishpond similar to this one in their mansion, where they would have a school of Koi fish swimming around. Not only was it visually appealing, but it was also rumored that these fish brought good luck to its master.

However, Lu Junhan didn't believe in any of that hocus-pocus, nor did he believe in Fengshui. The only reason that he had a pond of them was for food.

The fish from the last stock was almost gone, and so the time had come for him to replenish the fish population in the pond.

The butler glanced at Lu Junhan. He was relieved to find that there weren't any complaints about his efficacy. Quickly, he instructed the other staff to let the red Koi into the pond.

It wasn't too long before the entire lotus pond was filled with red Koi. It looked beautiful, almost festive-like.

Suddenly, a small voice came out from nowhere…

"Daddy!"

The voice was crystal clear, and boy was it unmistakable. It was audible to the ears of everyone present.

The butler's calm facial expression changed instantly. He looked around but didn't see anyone.

He wondered which bodyguard had a just signed his own death warrant. It was against the rule to bring children over during work hours.

Pretty much everyone in Hai City knew that Young Master Lu had a burning hatred for children. There was even one instance where he treated children with even more contempt than women.

It was fine if they brought their kids here, but letting them appear before Young Master Lu? Was he suicidal?

"Whose child is it? Take her away now!"

The mansion was too big. After looking around for a while, he still couldn't locate the child, which further fuelled his rage. Giving up the futile search, he shifted his attention to the bodyguards, whose backs shot up straight as they were roared at by the butler.

At the same time, he stole glances at Lu Junhan who was still standing there with a blank expression.

"Young Master Lu, this is probably mismanagement on my part. I am willing to accept any punishment…"

It was as if the man didn't hear him speak at all. The man walked off with a calm expression without sparing them even a glance.
