Christian tells Rose about his past and she is shocked and also guilty for misjudging him. Chris demands an apology kiss.

TWENTY FOUR

I quickly step in my room after bidding goodbye with another kiss, I couldn't remove the stupid grin on my face and I am sure I look an idiot now.

Chloe stirs in her sleep and calls me "Rose"

I quickly jumped on my bed and use the duvet to cover my entire body, I heard her footsteps heading this way and I shut my eyes at tight as I could.

I felt a light stroke on my hair as she mumbled.

"Poor Rose, you used to always be so strong. I wonder what happened to you" I then heard the opening of the door and I assumed she went to the bathroom.

I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling, releasing everything that happened today in my head.

I heard the clatter of plates coming from the kitchen and I stepped in.

Everyone's eyes fell on me.

Helen was the first to break the silence.

"Rose, where were you yesterday? We looked everywhere for you" She said and hugged me.

"I got a call that my grandma was in the hospital and I panicked so I went out to see her" I said in a small voice.

"Miss Helda, I am sorry I didn't tell you before I left, I was just so scared" I look at her, her face carrying an unexplainable expression.

"Next time, you ask for permission first before you go out, is that understood?" she said.

"Yes, Ma'am" I answered and Helen rubbed my back.

"Can I go see her? I want to make sure she is OK" I asked.

Her harsh gaze fell on me "Well, you have already gotten ready" she gestured at my outfit.

"Helda, let the girl go see her grandmother, one of the girls can always cover up for her work" Mrs Hatchman said.

"Fine, fine. Go but make sure you are back before lunch, you will be preparing lunch" she said and left the kitchen.

"Yes, ma'am" I saluted and gave Mrs Hatchman a wide smile.

I said goodbye to them and stepped out of the house.

"What's up, Thorne?" Travis ruffled my hair and I swat his hand away.

"Don't mess my hair" I glared at him as I smoothed the spot he ruffled.

"Cute. Where are you going?" He asked as he walked me to the gate.

"Off to see my grandma"

"Awww, she has an Abuela" he cooed and I slapped his back.

"Dammit, you have a rough hand" he said as he rubbed the spot I hit him.

"See you later, dumbass" I smirked and stepped out of the house.

"Later, Thorne"

I walked down the street, turned right and spot a red Audi parked in the alley. I crossed the road and entered the car.

"Good morning, Seniora Cantos" the elderly man sitting in the driver's seat greeted and I rolled my eyes.

"Good morning and it's Seniorita Thorne" I corrected him.

"Apologies, Seniora but Senior Cantos instructed us to call you thus" he bowed his head.

"Just drive, Carlos" I waved my hand and he started the car.

The Lentino mansion was at the other end of the city so it took about two hours before I started seeing the familiar street, houses and stores.

I let out a content sigh as I stared out the window, viewing the neighborhood.

Carlos entered the mansion and stopped the car in front of the huge wooden carved doors and I got out.

I pushed open the door and the place I got to call my home after we lived in the streets for two years came into my view.

He ran down the stairs as fast as he could and I followed his tail from behind, as soon as he was about to open the door, I shouted "Lorenzo Roderic Lentino Cantos"

He stopped on his tracks but didn't turn back, he knew he was doomed when I brought out the middle name so he knew better than to move.

I rush to his side and grabbed his ear and he began to scream.

"Lorenzo has been a really naughty boy, Huh. Trying to prank Rosaline" I said as I dragged him back upstairs and he pleaded for me to forgive him.

The servants were all doing their work, not even sparing us a glance as they were used to our silly plays.

I cracked a grin as I remembered that day.

I turned right to the living room and another memory was brought out.

"Help!! Help!!" Lorenzo screamed.

"Give it to me!" Lily who was on top of Lorenzo on the couch, jumped on top of him and he screamed again.

Iris and I were on the floor laughing as we watched them. Lorenzo has been watching football matches back to front since morning and to say Lily was pissed was an understatement. When she asked for the remote to watch her favorite reality show, he objected and that only pissed off Lily more.

So she jumped on him so she could steal the remote from him.

"Lorenzo, just give it to her" Iris squeaked out in between laughter.

"You asked for it!" Lily screamed before she jammed her elbow into his stomach and the remote fell on the floor. She quickly ran to pick it and changed the channel and sat on top of a groaning Lorenzo.

She high fived us and ruffled Lorenzo's hair.

"I hate you girls" Lorenzo groaned.

"We love you too" we chorused and giggled and Lorenzo had no other choice but to crack a smile.

I smiled before I climbed the stairs, I walked down the hall and opened the door, I could hear his thick and husky voice speaking his native tongue.

I stood by the doorway with a small smile on my face.

As soon as he was done with the phone call, he dropped the phone on the table and run his hand over his silk black hair.

When he stood up from the chair, I screamed.

"Mi Tonto!!!!" I dropped my bag and ran over to him. He stood still for a few seconds before he broke a huge grin and opened his arms for me.

I jumped on him and wrapped my legs around his slim torso and buried my head on his neck while he grabbed my waist and held me tight.

"Mi Amore" he whispered into my hair and I let out a sigh.

He grabbed my face and planted kisses all over my face and I giggled.

"I missed you, my little Seniorita" he murmured and walked back to put me on the desk but his arms were still around my waist.

I looked up at the man who became our father, guardian angel, friend, brother and family.

He had raven black which was always swept back to reveal his sculpted face, his eyes which were a mesmerising shade of honey was above a thin but long nose while his lips was as full they can be. His body was hard, muscled and lean, the workouts really paid off and his tanned skin complemented his overall features.

"I missed you, Lorenz" I smiled.

"How have you been? How is it in that hell?" he asked with a frown on his face.

"It's suffocating, I am staring at my father's murderer every single day but I can't do anything but to watch from behind, you have no idea how many times I wished to put a knife on her throat"

"You are strong, Amore. A very brave lady. That's how I raised you to be" he smirked.

"You and caffeine, when will you ever stop drinking five cups of coffee a day?" I gestured at all the empty cups of coffee on his desk.

"When you finally become my one and only Seniora"

"In your dreams, Lorenz" I rolled my eyes.

"They say dreams come true, Amore" he smirked and I sighed because I can never win against him.

"Where is my document?" he went to sit back on the chair and straightened his suit.

I went over to pick my bag and sat back down on the desk, I took out the document and gave it to him. He opened it and studied it carefully.

"Is that it?" I asked.

"Si, it is" he mumbled as he kept scrunitizing the document.

"What is it, Amore?" he dropped the document and walked to me.

"I can sense you are not happy, much quieter than I remember. What is the problem?" he used his hand to raise my face to meet his concerned gaze.

He knew too well, he could tell from just a look that something wasn't right with me.

"I found out something. Let the girls come first"

"Get a room, you too" we turned our heads to the door to see Lily standing there with a scowl.

"Speak of the devil"

"We are in a room" Lorenz deadpanned and Lily rolled her eyes.

"OMG! LoLo. I missed you" she ran over and jumped on his back.

She always loved his piggybacks.

She grabbed his neck and use one hand to ruffle his and he groaned, he hated it when his hair was a mess and she knew that so well.

"Little Lily, I missed you too but definitely not your habit of messing my hair everytime" he smoothed his hair when she got off him.

"Where's Iris?" he asked.

"She will be here anytime soon" she hugged me and sat on a sofa in the office.

We are all gathered in the living room, Lorenzo and I are seated in a sofa, his arm around my shoulder and we are eating from a bag of chips. He took off his suit and changed into black comfy pants and shirt.

Iris and Lily were sitting across us on another sofa, they were all staring at me as they waited for me to reveal what I found out yesterday.

"If you don't talk this minute, I am going to freak out. What is it, Rose?" Lily blurted out of frustration.

I licked my dry lips and opened my mouth to talk.

"I..."

I felt a squeeze on my shoulder, assuring me it will all be fine and I held his hand for support.

"When I went into Avalor's office to take the file that Lorenzo asked me to bring, Avalor came in before I could get out so I hid behind a cabinet and she... she said something that shocked the bones out me"

"What is it, Rose? You know you can tell us anything" Iris smiled but the smile didn't reach her eye because of her nerves.

I looked at both of my sisters, the only family I have left in this world. Lily was wearing a light purple floral gown and her blonde hair was in an elegant bun while Iris was in a simple palazzo pants jumpsuit with her hair in curls.

They all looked at me, eagerly awaiting for the truth.

I swallowed hard before I quickly blurted out

"Avalor killed our mother"

The silence that reigned after my statement was deadly, I looked down at my thighs, waiting for their response.

I looked up when I heard someone laughing, Iris and Lily were chuckling as they shook their head at me, I looked over to Lorenzo to see he has the same expression on his face.

"What's so funny?"

"Are you kidding? Mom died from complications after giving birth to you, she wasn't murdered" Iris said.

"I am aware of that, Iris but I am telling you I heard it with my own two ears, Avalor killed our mother" I mumbled as a single tear fell off my face.

"That bitch!!" Lily stood up and was about to storm out of the room when Lorenzo grabbed her by the waist and held her back.

"Let me go!!" she squirmed as she tried to break free from his hold, she kept on kicking and punching him but he didn't let go of her.

"Lil, calm down" he whispered into her ear.

"I said let me go, I am going to kill that motherfucker!!" she yelled.

Iris and I quickly rushed to her and held her down.

"Lily, you've got to calm down" Iris held her hands.

"Lily, listen to me. Killing her won't change anything" I said in a calm voice.

"How could you all ask me to calm down when that bitch is alive, breathing and living her life with her stupid head held high when she is nothing but a murderer?!!" she screamed.

"Tell me, how do I go to bed every night when the person who cut not only our father's life but also our mother's short is out there free and unconvicted? She is the reason we never got to live a normal childhood, she is the reason we never celebrated Parent's Day, she is the reason you never got to see Mother, Rose" she said as tears fell rapidly.
