So the parasite made him stronger seems like a win win to me

ability copying is a really bland ability, parasites have a lot more potential that I feel get over looked, it doesn't have to be lethal or evil either, it might not make the mc into a martial or magic god but he could make a really good support and information gatherer, it would make a really unique ability.
