I like the concept, only what happened in this chapter is a big deterrance for me. I don't know if this was your idea or from that other novel you used but I don't like it. I'll stop reading this now and succes on writing.

I would say shorter paragraphs(like try 5-10 lines at max. and then the next one) and stylistic improvement in status/skill display.

The fact that she's already mature yet she's so enamoured with him while he's a child just makes the whole thing cringe and awkward.
