It's a nice start.... But I generally don't like it when the author of a novel always has to portray the protagonist as special right from the get go as It makes the novel a lot less interesting.... Ill still read the entire thing but would have loved if the protagonist just became a part of the school like any other student instead of singling him out at every opportunity ... That just makes for a shitty plot and the near constant requirement for plot armor and an exponential kinda growth which would be bad for a just starting novel... You'll need something more linear for an original story you want to work on for a while and use all that time to deal with the mechanics on how the world works.... Hope you read this...
