Ever since learning the truth behind Shinta's existence and setting his mind on rescuing his daughter, Emery's inner turmoil had mostly settled. Boarding the Ouroboros mothership, he patiently adhered to the Queen's arrangements. Assured that Shinta was not in immediate danger, the ship embarked on a journey to visit other Serpent clan allies to garner their support.

With at least a week before reaching their destination, Emery retreated to his Magus Domain, determined to further prepare himself for any challenges that lay ahead.

One immediate step to increase his strength was to fully comprehend Mo Yan's inheritance. Since Emery began dominating the hunchback slave master's soul, he had gleaned fragments of the man's memories. When he fully devoured the spirit master, Emery successfully acquired a few of Mo Yan's secret techniques, though they were incomplete.
