"...." Ivar could feel a certain person's gaze falling onto him. It irked him, specially the look that person had in his pair of emerald eyes. This unnecessary attention was starting to annoy him.
"Brother Ansel? Is there something wrong?"
"!!" When he heard sorrel address him he was taken aback. Shaking his head he said nothing.
Ivar turned away from him.
Ansel observed the boy one last time before shaking off this strange feeling he had in his mind.
Suddenly the blue sky lit up with a dark brown colour.
"!!" Every memeber of the unit knew what it was.
"Prepare yourselves for the battle." Ansel shouted to his fellow unit members.
Thousands of mages appeared, covering the expanse of the sky as it returned to its original colour. The mages were all standing, with an individual leading them at the front. He had yellow hair. His eyes were oozing with a powerful aura.
With a smile on his face he yelled. "FINALLY FOUND YOU!!!"
When he said this for some reason Ivar knew that this guy was the reason behind the sudden change in plot. Moreover this person knew him and was looking for him. It meant that he was probably here to kill him.
His eyes narrowed dangerously with a raging murderous glare.
So it's him! That guy who caused Nulis to fall in coma.
"ATTACK!"
As soon as the cue was given the two groups moved immediately. Hundreds of cloaked mages and another group of people dressed in military uniform collided with each other. The sound of rapid explosions immediately filled the enitre arena as soon as the battle began.
BOOOOM!
A figure dashed up towards the yellow haired boy who was still standing above.
Ansel widened his eyes. "SORREL!" He shouted. "COME BACK THIS INSTANT!"
Stabbing a mage with his sword he was about to pursue the boy who was gradually getting further and further away from the battle ground. But of coruse the mages were there to block him. His eyes narrowed dangerously at them, unleashing his killing intent he began to slay his enemies left and right.
Ivar did not hear Ansel yelling at him from below. His eyes were fixated on the enemy he was pursuing. While sprinting towards his enemy he never looked back once to the screams of call yelling at him from behind.
The two figures finally stopped to face each other, isolating themselves from the ongoing battle.
"Bring him out." That was the first thing that left the enemy's mouth. Levi glared at the rebel before him, demanding adamantly.
"So it's you!" Ivar said, his serene eyes brimming with madness. This guy.....last time he made a narrow escape from him. Now that he had showed up in front of him again he was going to rip him apart.
"I SAID BRING HIM OUT!" Levi yelled at him angrily. The agitation in his voice was obvious.
"Why? So that you can kill him?" Saying this Ivar made the first move. He unleashed his own power blowing up towards his enemy.
BOOM!
Two majestic auras clashed against each other. The wisps of red and light magic sent shock waves travelling the expanse of the sky as it let out dry explosions one after another.
BANG!
Ivar was thwarted by the enemy's next move. His body flew down towards the ground.
Crash.
The ground was shattered to crumbles as he bolted up at his enemy again.
"Where is Elm? I said bring him out!!" Levi yelled as he swung a punch towards the rebel.
Ivar did not reply him. He did not speak out even a single word but his eyes spat everything he wanted to say. Something spiky elongated from his knuckles. When his fist clashed with his enemy's the red spikes dug into the enemy's hand, ripping out his flesh when he pulled away. The sound of breaking bones coming from Ivar's own hands did not bother him as he used his mana to heal them at once.
Levi frowned. He binded his wounded hand with his mana particles. Healing them could wait but having Elm couldn't.
He heaved a heavy breath. Then he said it again. "Where is Elm? Give him to me."
Chuckles!
Ivar snorted at his statement. Give Elm to me? That sounded so wrong.
"Nulis is not a thing that you can demand to have. He is a real person with a soul. How dare you speak so lightly of him as if he were a thing? Handing him over to you?" His eyes slanted dangerous.
"THAT'S NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN UNLESS HE WANTS TO GO AT HIS OWN WILL!"
This guy!!! Levi was enraged by his reply. The veins on his forehead bulged out, the anger in his heart rising up. If he wasn't going to bring him out he was going to kill this rebel first.
"HEAVEN'S AUTHORITY."
A bright wave swept past Ivar's body. It was something divine. As soon as it exited past him he laughed out like a madman.
"I see." He chuckled tapping his forehead.
His powers were sealed. This force must be the thing that contributed to the system in binding his powers whenever and wherever he went in the past.
"COWARD!" He spat at his enemy. This move was something only a weak coward would make.
Levi saw the rebel dash towards him. He summoned his weapon. A gigantic scythe with the shape of a human skull at the top with a suspended chain attached to a sword at the bottom appeared in his hand. He swung the scythe twisting it forward in a manner that both the sword and the blade were buliding up the required momentum for his attack.
This time he came all prepared! There was no way he was going to lose today! Levi thought to himself unleashing the attack.
Ivar dodged the sword diving towards him. It glided past his neck, barely missing the skin around that area. Something bright lit up before him, covering his vision.
BOOM!
BOOOOMMM!
Several beams of light were fired at him. The sword that had missed rebounded itself thrusting towards its target again.
"Expand." Levi chanted.
BANG!
The size of the sword doubled. The edge of its tip was glinting with a lustrous shine, the reflection of the sun light falling onto it gave it a rather chilling vibe.
Ivar noticed the sword from the corner of his eyes. When the sword approached him he twirled himself to the left Dodging it slightly. Just as the sword was gliding past him he grabbed the blade with his bare hands with the intention of breaking it.
But...
Shing. Shing. Shing.
Slash.
The blade broke into small knives. When the knives exploded onto Ivar at such a close distance taking some damage was inevitable.
Something thick and sticky slid down his cheeks. Ivar touched his face to confirm what it was. It was his blood. He was bleeding in several parts. The knives has cut him in several places. One in his cheek. Another in his shoulder, his chest and his arms. His bloody red eyes stared calmly at his own blood. How many years has it been since he last bled? How many years has it been since he was injured by another person to the point of bleeding?
Thump.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
The heart beat against his chest was accelerating but surprisingly the sound of it made him feel calm. What is this?
Levi spared no time for his target to rest. He started another wave of attack. Sprinting towards the rebel he raised his hand, swinging back as hard as he could.
BANG!
When Ivar dodged the scythe the momentum of that attack hit against the ground creating a big empty hollow into it. The land around the hollow crumbled into large dents.
Ivar glanced at the ground below before adjusting his gaze on his enemy again. He bent his head backward dodging the blade of the sword just right in time.
Something.....
The skull top of the scythe lit up unleashing a beam at him at this close range.
Something is strange.... So strange...
When the beam of light shot past him it destroyed the forest behind, turning the trees to burnt ashes.
BOOM!
Ivar narrowed his eyes at his enemy. His eyes were glowing with a beastly aura as if he was going to break berserk. The slick glint of a calm beast ready to attack was reflecting in his glowing eyes. With his fingers he caught the tip of the scythe, stopping the weapon from falling further than the required distance.
"!!" Levi was taken aback. He glared back at him. "Revoke." At his command the scythe in his hand changed back into its true form. It transformed itself into a staff. A bright crystal was embedded on its head.
Staring at Levi Ivar was contemplating something. When he began to attack again he couldn't help but wonder. So he made a gamble.
"Nulis remembers the person who is waiting for him. He always have since he was turned into a system."
At this sudden statement Levi froze. He stood at a single spot, halting his attack. It was as if his entire body has frozen up. His eyes wavered heavily. There was a look of shock, horror and guilt reflecting in his eyes.
Ivar felt his lips curve. "And that person is not you." He finsihed his statement.
Levi's eyes were wide with shock. He stared back at Ivar wearing a complicated gaze but the emotion brimming in that look was as clear as day to the other person.
Fear.
Panic.
And a look of envy.
Hm. So he was right. Ivar thought to himself. This person is not the one the god's promised about. To Nulis for his cooperation.
"You are not the one Nulis needs to go to." Confirming his suspicion about this enemy before him he felt a strange power burning inside his soul.
"Oh by the way, what I said about Nulis remembering the person he had to meet was actually a lie." He did not forget to add it.
Levi's eyes lost all the light in them. He replied the rebel with emotionless eyes, deprived of any feelings in them. "Doesn't matter. I am taking him with me."
These fucking gods!!! Playing with them as they wish. When he was in his world he became a victim of them. He now understood that he was just one victim out of all those thousands or maybe millions of victims. The number of souls dancing at the fingers of these gods would probably exceed millions. When he first broke through his world he thought that he was special. But when he was forced to bond with Nulis he understood that he was still weak.
What is this sudden feeling?
This sudden feeling of accomplishment?
He have felt this before right? This feeling?
Ivar stood still staring at the huge energy ball falling towards him. Closing his eyes he felt the strange feeling burning in his soul. Feeling it, he grasped the essence of it and poured it out.
BOOOOOOOOOMMMMM!
The gigantic ball of energy was caught by him, bare hand. The mana essence sticking to his palm felt strange. It did sting his skin a bit but.....the source was too weak. He raised his hand staring at it with a rather calm gaze.
Poof!
With a single breathe of his mouth he deflected the energy ball upwards. The bright beam of ball exploded at a high altitude.
Ivar stared at his hands. Then at his body. He noticed that his injuries were healed. Again that feeling of richness blazing inside his soul was gradually expanding itself, seeping deep into his spiritual soul, brimming it with a refreshing power.
During this time he failed to notice the look of horror and shock on Levi's face.
"Im...impossible!" How can this happen? There were no signs of the break through!!! How??? How did it happen so suddenly!!??!!
He saw the aura of the rebel rising up from his body. The rich wisps of mana oozing out from that rebel meant...
Heaven's authority was broken. It no longer worked on this guy. Or rather heaven's authority couldn't contain this guy's power level anymore.
"YOU!!" He screamed.
His sudden scream reminded Ivar of his existence. Right. He thought.
Step.
Step.
"RIGHT. I STILL HAVEN'T FORGAVE YOU FOR HURTING NULIS! LETS SETTLE THE SCORE NOW."
Levi's eyes were wide with horror. The next moment he didn't even knew how or when he died.
In a matter of seconds the divine core of his soul was extinguished in an instant.
Once upon a time there was a boy who was bullied by the people around him. He was a subject of those people who hated his elder sister for taking the seat they wanted. But she was strong and out of reach so they projected their hatred and frustration onto the boy. They threw him inside a void, with the intention of having him die there. However with the grace of luck he was saved. The man who saved the boy had a high pony tail. With a smile that could bewitch even the blooming flowers in spring the man took the boy to safety. Having never been showered with such attention before, the little boy grew to love the man wanting him for himself. But he was weak. So he began to work hard on becoming strong, be on equal footing with the man, his first love.
However the man left one day. He was always away on dangerous missions at the order of the boy's elder sister. And when he returned he pointed his sword at them, his every slash aiming for their lives. The boy who was still a teenager fell victim to his sword, the blade stabbing his chest. But what hurt more than the stab was his heart.....that was shattered to pieces by the betrayal of his first love.
The man was punished for his actions. The boy who was left broken hearted hated himself for not being able to hate the man. He begged on his knees to his sister....asking her not to extinguish the soul of the man he loved. He was weak and didn't have the strength to fight for his man, so all he could do was beg.
Maybe if he hadn't been so weak from the begining maybe that man would have belonged to him. If he could fight to have him and run away with him maybe he could have himself inside that man's heart.
Only he knew that he was a coward.
A coward in love.
He couldn't have his first love when he was with him.
He couldn't have him either even after he lost him.
That lovely charming man's heart always belonged to someone else who caused him to betray his people.
The non existing tears shed by his extinguished soul was unheard....
Bringing his one sided love to an end.
Without any chance to amend or restart anew.
This arc is finished. Now we will have another new begining... Hehe.
"A coward in love." All he could do was die with regrets.
